If you were to make different stories set in the same universe, is it better to make ONE story w/ different branches? Or different stories?
Depends on how big you plan to make the stories and if they have anything to do with each other apart from the setting. I could easily separate them into different stories just to have room to grow but I do note that if you want readers, it is easier to get visibility for just one story instead of two.
For me, it would depend if we're following 1 character or several. If 1, then branch out. If >1, different stories
Theme and kink are the most important factors here. If some branches are adultery and others are, for example, mind control, it's probably best to separate them. This is especially important if some branches have extreme kinks, or if you decide to use an unusual, experimental writing style for some of them. Going from one branch to another that's completely different is jarring.
Can never tell if I'm writing too much or not enough. Whichever, I am not writing exactly the right amount, or at least not the right stuff.
The sad reality is that a lot of times if somebody makes it in Literature or not comes down to luck and connections.
Finding the right publisher AND the right audience is in large parts luck even if obviously some level of skill is necessary as well.

That's probably a good sign! It suggests that you're handling these things in a reasonably realistic way. (Assuming that's what you're after, of course. After all, realism isn't mandatory.)
Sorry everyone for the delays on my rps. I'm in finals mode, but should be finished in 1-2 wks and ready to get cracking.
Views also dropped a lot, but not as much as likes did. In the 10 days before I posted the last chapter, the story got about 1000 views/day. Afterwards: 340 views/day. Whereas it went from 148 likes/day in the same 10 days, to zero, zip, nada.
I think it's a matter of repeat senders; someone can view a chapter multiple times (I think, anyways) but only like it once. Also, aside from front page priviledge, the audience for any recent chapters are gonna be the people who actually enjoy you as an author and have notifications on for you, who are WAY more likely to leave a like.
I think another aspect is that you need an account to leave likes, people who come to the site often are more likely to have an account, and people who come to the site often are more likely to see your story early than people who don't. Then when you stop posting updates, your readers-with-accounts stop reading (because they've already read everything), and your likes stop coming in too.
