"You're too kind, madame." Lawrence does a fine job of acting natural, as she begins to eat the immaculately cooked meal. "It begins at six o'clock, madame. I'd wager that after giving your speech and schmoozing with the guests, it should be socially acceptable for you to leave at seven thirty."
"Oh, it will hurt... it will hurt a lot." Amethyst Heart got up. "But you will love it, crave it even... because the pain, is what you need, right now." the blond turned, and knocked the door, calling the guards. After she was left alone, she made her way to the beach, where Vadrek claimed to have found their countrywoman. She doubted she would find anything... but she needed to think... and had no idea what else to do this night.
"I see." Vanessa nods, listening to her butler's expert opinion. But as she thought back on what she'll be doing after, "Lawrence... do we still have any properties in the suburbs? Or somewhere quiet?" She asked a sudden question, Jacob's place is a bit... unsafe, and if the members of the gang connect Horatio's death to him... Vanessa makes it seem as if she's worried for his safety, which was only a half-truth, as she basically just wanted to fuck somewhere their privacy was secure.
Spoiler: Stealth Roll D100: 79 (Success) Waiting for there to be no one in the area, the two magical girls begin to levitate in the air to the second floor. As the girl Sapphira rescued stated, they're up there, in room two. Normally, flying up to the window would be conspicuous, but luckily for Azura, the two bikers are...busy...with their captive, who's pressed against the bed.
Azura blushed at the sight that greeted them, having not expected it. It wasn't enough to distract her from the mission, though – if anything, it made things easier. Azura looked to Sapphira and gave her a sign to be quiet but get ready to attack, then cast the same spell had used earlier to take out the thug attacking Sapphira. First she cast it on herself, then on her companion. Then, on the count of three, they rushed in, trying to take out the two bikers while they were “busy”...
"Pain is what I need?" Chantelle raises an eyebrow in a way that suggests she's wondering if Amethyst is some kind of creep. Heading to the beach, the superheroine looks around to try and find some sort of clue as to what happened to her fellow traveller, but to no avail. Looking around, all she sees are bits of trash, and a few fires where college students in board shorts and bikinis dance and drink. If Vadrek isn't lying, the crime happened before she ever came to Earth, meaning that physical evidence is probably literally or figuratively buried. "Hey, uh, you're one of them superhero types, right?" Turning, T'yala sees an elderly cop patrolling the beach. "Technically, costumed heroes are breaking the law, y'know?"
Amethyst Heart's lip moved up a little. Technically, flying around should be a give away. "Yes... technically. Those same rules, as vigillantes and people owning guns." She nodded. "Technically, breaking a law, but it's such a limbo, and a mess, that no one wants to mess with it." There were few who tried, but it always tangeled so much that the cases were usually either stuck - indifineitly, or dismissed. She landed on the ground, near the eldery policeman, her boots clicking on the pavement. She put her hand on her waist. "Care to help me? I'm looking information about an aquientce of mine." She asked as she turned to the elder law enforcer.
Spoiler: Combat Roll D100: Azura: 75+20 (Magic) +10 (Surprise) Sapphira: 25+10 (Surprise)+ 10 (Magic) With a great crash, the two magical girls enter the room, sending glass flying as they charge the bikers. Azura feels her fist collide with the stomach of the tattooed woman, and she flies upwards, cracking the drywall of the ceiling, before collapsing in a heap, unconscious. The second woman actually moves impressively fast, given that she was just pounded with a strap on, managing to swing a baseball bat and Sapphira and force her back. She can't stop Azura, though, who knocks her out with a quick palm strike. "Well, well..." The woman on the bed, covered in sweat and sexual juices, looks at her rescuers. "Hey, Sapph. Nice of you to drop in." She turns to Azura, and her smile grows wider. "Well isn't it good to see you again? Not exactly how I planned it, but I won't complain." She chuckles, finding a robe and tying it around her waist. "I'm Esmerelda, but my friends call me Esme." She smiles, before a honk sounds outside and interrupts her.
"Hmm..." He thinks to himself. "I believe one of our child companies has significant real estate investment in the suburbs, and the rural areas upstate. It would be easy to have them relinquish a property for our use - we do technically own them, even if our name won't be on the paperwork." Professionally, he gives her the answer, without asking why she wants it.
"Alright, give me a small house in the suburbs. An area where the neighbors aren't too... neighborly." Vanessa replied, and despite Lawrence not asking. She knew he'd worry if he was kept in the dark, "Last night... I found a boy, well, a young man. He was being beated up by some thugs, and I gave them a beat down of their own... followed by destroying their gang." The heiress shared last night's story, obviously leaving behind the fact about Horatio almost making her into his bitch. "I suppose I feel responsible, on the off chance the remnant of that gang looks for him."
She's hot... “Nice to meet you, Esme, my name is Azura.” Azura introduced herself before she moved over to the window and looked outside while trying to remain hidden from the view of anyone down on the street.
"W-Well, if you wanted..." The fat boy pauses, desperate to be helpful to her. "I know where you can find a small gang. One of the members was my friend in high school. Well..." The boy blushes. "Actually, he was my bully in high school."
"I see." Lawrence nods his head. "Very admirable of you, madame. Yes, we should be able to find something more than suitable for this young man."
Esmerelda seems to catch Azura's appraisal, grinning. "Good name. I've been looking forward to-" She's cut off by the horn. Looking down at the street, she sees the two male bikers who left earlier, one of whom honk the horn again. "Hey, hurry up! We got the buyer, here!" One of them shouts up. "Wait, did you dumb fuckin' broads break the window?" Looking between the bikers, Azura catches sight of the 'buyer', a blue haired woman in a leotard - almost certainly a super. Esmerelda peeks out the window and swears. "Oh no... it's Ice."
"Don't worry, lady. The days when I would have picked fights with gals in costumes are long gone - if they existed at all." The cop chuckles. "Hmmm... I don't know if I can help - I don't really know any of you superhero types, but I'll try my best. Shoot." He raises his arms. "I don't mean that literally - in case you're one of those superheroes with laser guns or something." He chuckles again.
"Good, and we can use the fact that the Fitzgerald name won't be popping up. I suppose I could say it's one of my secret bases... that should solve it." Vanessa mumbled, and before long, she's done with her hearty breakfast. "Right, the ball is still a few hours away... and if I leave the house, I'd get swarmed with reporters..." The heiress sighed, "I suppose I'll do some research." She said as she opens her laptop, Vanessa reads through the news, wondering if anything serious happened in some other part of the city. And to see what the official statement about the raid in the hospital was, mostly to ensure she doesn't fuel the journalists burning curiosity.
Azura moved away from the window and pulled Esmerelda along. “Not a person you want to meet, I take it. Can she fly? If she can't then it would be best if we just fly away from here and not engage with her.”
Checking the news, she sees that besides the hospital raid last night, the only big item is a newly brewed war between two biker gangs, the Deaths Heads and the Devil's Children - apparently there was a rocket attack at a clubhouse that caused several casualties. In other news, though, she notes, Horatio Melchett, a well respected antiques dealer had his store broken into last night, and was shot in the head by one of the thieves. Melchett is in Century General Hospital, in critical condition, but alive. According to the report, the round ricocheted off the dealer's skull. Police are pursuing leads as to who could have committed such a heinous attack on one of the area's most upstanding citizens. Looking into the news about the hospital attack, it seems like the police are trying to keep it hush-hush, but word has gotten out about some of the details. So far, it seems like most people believe that Vanessa was the target, and her lawyer merely a bystander in the wrong place, at the wrong time. There's worry among Century City's citizens that this attack was committed by the same people who had Vanessa's parents assassinated, the killers coming back to finish the job and wipe out the family entirely.
"I will need people who are more physically capable. Though....at the same time, while I do that, it would be good to expand my other followers as well. You have a big online life." She was just assuming it. "You probably could spread the popularity of my arrival to other people. Organize a few conventions, get larger numbers. The more support can spread legally without much trouble." She never actually read the manga herself, but she assumed there still had to be readers out there. It wasn't her favorite crowd, but having people more technologically literate was useful. "But some more hardened types are still going to be important later on. Who are these people and where do I find them? They'll listen to me. They just don't know it yet."
