Really Experienced
This is an expansion of a plot bunny I posted in 1001 story ideas.
The story idea is a scifi adventure set on a colony ship. The characters are in two seperate groups. The flight crew who have been maintaining the ship during it's 100+ year journey and the colonists whose consciousnesses have been stored to be downloaded into freshly printed clone replicas of their original bodies upon arrival at the target solar system, which is known to have planets in the habital Goldilocks zone.
The flight crew by this time are the descendants by several generations of the original crew born during the journey and no longer have any ties or loyalty to earth or the mission. When they arrive at the system the ship is scheduled to be cannibalised for parts and they will essentially be out of the only job they are trained for. They feel resentful that the newly awakened colonists will be the leaders while they will be relegated to menial labour. The crew discover that the clone printer is in fact reprogrammable. This is in case any physical adjustments needed to be made to the clone bodies for gravity or adverse atmosphere. As per mission protocols they rouse the bioengineer first, but then force her to reprogram the clone printer to their specifications.
The colonists clones will all be given very petite and weak female bodies so they are easily controlled and the crew will intend to set themselves up as masters or mistresses with a harem of pretty little colonists. Naturally the awakened colonists will not be happy with this turn of events.
What the crew and the unfortunate colonists encounter at the new star system is open. It could be the planet or planets are already habitated by sentient aliens, dangerous fauna and flora or space pirates. The colonists could try to fight back, but being weaker and smaller and with any weapons kept securely out of their reach it would need planning and subtefuge.
