I'm lucky in that I've never been short of ideas of what to write. The downside of that though is that it can be tough to decide where to focus my efforts. I haven't written a new story on here in ages so I thought it was about time that I did. But I need some help deciding what to write, I've narrowed it down to three ideas. I've put a brief synopsis of them below and a poll to help me decide what to write! These choices also mark a new direction for me in that there will be NO incest, which until now has been the theme of all my stories on CHYOA. I've deliberately left the description brief to give me leeway on the plot and the headings are just working titles right now. I'll leave the poll open for 2 weeks then I'll write whichever one gets the most votes. The finishing school A teacher is persuaded to take a post at finishing school for troublesome girls. He is shocked at the school's unusual methods of discipline and is soon drawn into a web of intrigue. Riches to rags and back again. A rebellious young girl from strict a family finds herself living on the streets. Surrounded by danger and close to starving, she finds the strength to survive and sets her sights on making a life for herself. The Life Saver A young man from a poor neighbourhood saves the life of a beautiful, rich and very eccentric woman. When he accepts her offer of a better life he wasn’t quite prepared for what she had in store for him.
I chose the first option. There's a Ren'Py game called The Headmaster which has very similar themes, which I enjoyed a lot. If you went for the second option, I'd suggest just 'Riches to Rags' as the title. 'And Back Again' spoils the ending, and really ties down your creative freedom. The third option felt a little too... fairytale romance? Not my cup of tea.
If we're allowed to put in our two cents, 1. I somehow see it being very much "the inmates are running the asylum" type of scenario. 2. Kind of hoping it won't be a misery porn story. 3. I like the clash of classes thing, but that opens up the flood gates of the man's history catching up with him and getting the woman involved with the wrong type of people. Apologies for the pessimistic views. Not having a good week IRL. Also apologies if I've spoiled plot ideas.
Well spotted! The first option is very much inspired by the Headmaster! At the moment these are just working titles, I'll give them real titles near the time of publishing when I have a better idea of the story details. Number three is definitely not fairy tale romance! I should have done a better job of the synopsis. It's going to be a slightly comic and slightly dark look at what happens when this nieve young man enters a weird world of sex and
