Something on the lines: Their parents, Ashley with Brandon, Gavin with Victoria or Lisa and Hannah either trying not to laugh or teasing Gavin and Victoria/Lisa and to some extent Ashley and Brandon. Hannah could tease Gavin about his girlfriend, especially if its Victoria, that he is dating her due to physical similarities to his sisters. An interesting pairing for Gavin would also be Taylor, but she would be immune or mostly immune to Hannah's teasing. Another interesting dinner date would be: Their parents, Ashley and Brandon, Gavin and Taylor, Hannah and Zack, and maybe Zack and Taylor's parents Another interesting version would be if Gavin was with Heather, i think Heather would answer Hannah with the same kind of teasing and include or try to include subtle hints about Gavin's performance during sex and endowment. Which will be more potent and would affect Hannah more, if she and Gavin would of had sex before. She could have some flashbacks during dinner, in which she remembers how she and Gavin had sex. As for how she would act, i think that she would tease him mercilessly, but that if any other girl would tease him or try to hurt him, she would act like Taylor does with Zack and she will do her best to protect him. I think it would be somewhere on the lines of tough love. And personally, yes, i think that they would have fucked by the time the story starts; imagine this, Gavin comes home heartbroken from a date or his girlfriend cheated on him, or she rejected him for someone else, like a jock, and Hannah is home and she comforts him, one thing leads to another and they end up having sex.
Chloe could also be an interesting pairing for Gavin if he is Ashley's twin and Hannah's younger brother. She could learn to be a bit more confident from Ashley and Hannah.
These are good ideas. Don't know why but I see this as a good standalone story, maybe "Woodsen Family Dinner". We can put the characters and their significant ones in the house for a night and there can be multiple paths of what could happen until the night ends.
The massacre or orgy of Saint Valentine's at the Woodsen House It would also be interesting if it where to happen at the Ravers cabin as well. Imagine Hannah, Ashley and Gavin all related. Hannah could help Gavin with Taylor and Ashley could help him with Victoria (that is if Zack isn't interested in Victoria anymore) or Madison (a foursome between the two pair of twins).
To be honest, it can happen anywhere. Just get Hannah, Ashley, Brandon, Gavin and his girlfriend alone somewhere and the fireworks can begin. Although, I think a version of Gavin with Ashley and Hannah as siblings would be a very different character, there's no way in hell that those two, especially Hannah, would have let him become like is in the original version. That's how I've been seeing At the Cabin's future on my part lately. I think a series of interconnected standalone short stories will be much more feasible than a full rework. I won't have lots of free time forever, after all. I'm doing one thing at a time, right now my focus is to finish that thread where the gang went to the nightclub and four remained behind at the cabin.
A Gavin that has been molded by Ashley and especially Hannah, with some influences from Taylor, should be a very interesting character. He could be more outspoken, i think somewhere between Brandon's confidence, but without the arrogance and maybe/hopefully Zack's modesty and some humbleness.
His fear of talking to pretty girls would be gone, obviously. I think he would have had a few girlfriends already as well.
True. I think that the difficult thing to do, would be to make him confident when it comes to girls like Brandon or Kurt, but not as arrogant as them. He should/could be confident, but more down to earth.
I think he'd be a bit like Zack, but living with Hannah and Ashley would have made him more confident and a jokester. If it was this version of him with a crush on some girl, he'd have already acted on it, instead of watching from afar as old Zack did with Victoria.
That is true. That could be used for Gavin to have sex with Hannah, she comforts him when he comes home with the broken heart, things progress and they end up having sex. Or Ashley could hook him up with one of the more lose girls on the cheerleading squad or from school to help him get better; or she might just take matters into her own hands and help him get over the heartbreak.. But i also think that even if he ends up with the broken heart from the beginning, after some time and talks, boosts from Hannah and Ashley, he would get over it and start going after another girl. Like duskford said, Gavin with Hannah and Ashley as sisters would be a different guy, he would be more confident. I think that he would be suffering after that first heartbreak, but with their assistance and confidence boosts, he would get over it.
With Hannah and Ashley cheering him up, he wouldn't stay sad for too long. And growing up with them, I don't think he'd be the type to suffer too much because of girls.
Going to bring up the downvote debacle one more time because I noticed a curious fact. I was looking at the ratings of chapters posted in recent times, written by boomer97, adam17017, Cretan_Bull14 and myself, and I noticed there's a pattern of us receiving a total of 6 to 10 votes on each chapter. However, in particularly "disliked" chapters, my "Yet two more twists" and boomer97's "Away They Go" ones, mainly, the total number of votes spiked up, 13 on his and a whooping 24 on mine. I thought, how can this happen if the same people read each chapter? The only conclusion I could reach is that there's an unhappy user who created multiple accounts to hammer down the downvote button whenever the chapter don't go his/her way. I don't really mind the downvotes, but it seems to me that here's a case of a single person trying to manipulate writers into thinking they shouldn't pursue the themes depicted on the 'disliked' chapter. If you're reading this, please stop it, it's not cool at all. Of course, I may be wrong and it can be a case of readers only bothering to vote when they don't like the chapter, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Moving on to happier news, it's good to see more people adding to the story more frequently. We have a lot of active branches going on right now, boomer97's one, CretanBull14's has a few ones, adam17017 added two and I have two of my own as well. EDIT: Friedman removed the dislike option, so I think the problem I mentioned above won't happen anymore.
I think it's no secret that part of my development process is to start lots of different branches and see what works, what doesn't and then start refining it. I found a good momentum continuing that branch which is already on the sixth day of the trip, it's very possible that this one is going to see an ending. Are you guys liking it with the current Zack/Vicky pairing or would it be better if it was a Zack/Heather one? Keeping in mind the same side plots (Ashley/Brandon break up, nice Kurt, Chloe/Gavin relationship, etc), with only the girl Zack got together with being different. Asking because I have a very clear idea of everything that's going to happen, but I feel that I just turned Vicky into a blonde Heather in that planning, doing things and having ideas that doesn't suit her personality, hence why I'm questioning myself if it isn't better to just switch the pairing instead of changing a character's personality to suit the plot.
Had some doubts about where I was going with my Zack/Victoria storyline, and even wrote a few chapters for an alternate Zack/Heather branch, but those problems are mostly solved in my mind, and I can keep going with the Zack/Vicky story, having a lot of fun writing that branch. I guess my main issue with Zack/Victoria storylines, at least for me, wasn't the pairing by itself, but what happened around them. With Vicky, Zack probably couldn't have threeways without feeling like he was forcing her to do stuff she didn't want or feeling like he was cheating on her, and in my line of thought, I couldn't wrap my mind around the possibility of him, as the main character, scoring with less girls than the secondary male characters, so I always ended up shifting to Zack/Heather storylines (Heather being more flexible than Victoria in regards to being open to sexual adventures and different stuff). I decided to brave on, though, and now I'm glad that I did. I was able to write scenes that popped up in my head even before I posted the story, like that scene near the lake where Zack and Victoria talk about when the first talked to each other, and their upcoming date on the next chapters. Even Heather is closer to my original view of her, someone who enjoys the attentions of the multiple guys around the house and revels in that fact. And threesomes involving Zack and Victoria can possibly happen as well, I figure that, if done in a careful and organic way that doesn't clash with Victoria's character, it's very much a possibility.
Hello, I would like to know, if possible, how come there are no threads in which Gavin ends up for good with Taylor or Heather? He always gets close, like in Boomer97's thread, where he has sex with Heather and a moment with Taylor and Hannah, and maybe he will have more in the future; and there is also the thread where they play spin the bottle and Zack tells Gavin to continue doing what he did before, and Gavin and Taylor start kissing. But there isn't a thread where he and Taylor or Heather end up being a couple, like Zack and Vicky or Heather, Kurt and Chloe, Brandon and Ashley. I'm just curious because a thread where Gavin ends up with Taylor or Heather could be very interesting. It could take place during the cabin trip or maybe a one-piece story of them in college. I imagine that it's hard to write due to the fact that Gavin is shy, while Taylor and especially Heather are more outgoing and direct, but it could be a very interesting thread. Thank you.
I guess that about 90% of the authors and readers tune in for Zack's journey. You'd have to find out someone wanting to write specifically for Gavin, like boomer97 does, but I suppose he's still a bit far from the end of his storyline.
I understand that. After all the story At the Cabin, was initially about Zack and his exploits, but over time the story evolved to show the perspective and adventures of the other characters as well. I persoanlly find it maddening that Gavin gets so close to Heather and Taylor on several occasions, only for the writer to stop developing the story or for something else to intervene, like Brandon (just giving an example), or for the girl to decide that she dosen't want a boyfriend or something else and he never ends up with Taylor or Heather. I understand the differences between the characters in terms of personality and that it is difficult to write a relationship between Gavin and Heather due to their opposite personalities or between Gavin and Taylor due to the age difference and maturity levels, but i imagine it could be done; i don't know, i'm not a writer. I also imagine that writers don't want to turn Gavin into another Zack or Brandon in terms of personality, but people change, not that fast, that much, but it is possible. And personally, in Boomer97's thread i think it is more plausible for Gavin to end up with Taylor as his girlfirend, than with Madison. Granted the last chapter just hinted the Gavin and Zack like the same girl, which might be Madison or maybe even Lisa(?), but i still think that it would be more plausible for him to end up with Taylor. Like i said, i'm not a writer and this is just my opinion, but it would be great to see Gavin in a relationship with Taylor or Heather.
Hope everyone liked the characters introduced on this thread: https://chyoa.com/chapter/Life-goes-on-at-Azure-Rocks.288785 They're probably gonna be the stars of a new story I may or may not write once I finish my current Zack/Vicky story, as a sequel.
Figured I should explain my intent behind the sudden return of Heather to the fold regarding Zack's affections on my main storyline. Basically, the story will end on the next day of the trip, when they complete a week at the cabin. There'll be a big, long sex scene soon on the the current night, which will prompt Zack to choose the next morning if he wants to continue dating Victoria or break up with her to pursue Heather, then I'll write two endings, one for each couple. I thought that Zack/Vicky and Zack/Heather were the two biggest pairings during 'At the Cabin's run and I couldn't finish it without giving a satisfactory ending to each of these two couples.
