"So this is our only shared class, huh." Felicia mumbles as she tries to recall her schedule. "Right, I guess we should head out before we're late. See you two around, I suppose." She smiles as she stands up, heading to the door, she gives Giovanni a thank you for the informative class. Before leaving and heading to her next lesson. Seriously, what's with my schedule... did they just randomize our classes? Felicia thinks to herself as she walks through the hallway.

"Hrm." Haunani softly grunts in frustration, forced to keep her desires in check for the rest of the hour. Phoebe gives the two of them a knowing looks as she talks through the syllabus and the outline of the course.
    -----
"Alright, that's enough for today. You're dismissed." Phoebe waves her hand, letting the class out around ten minutes early. She sits behind her desk, waving Adman and Haunani over to join her.

[Maybe... They are all reasonable gen. ed. classes. A&P may be a bit of a stretch, but there's a reason for that one.]

    "See you!" Ixchel waves goodbye.

Giovanni gives Felicia a small smile as she thanks him and leaves.
    -----
Felicia arrives to a classroom displaying visual art of all kinds on the walls--mostly paintings but some photographs and a couple sculptures are present too. The professor sits behind a desk in the corner, twirling a little pointer baton in her hand.

"Hello there. Please, take a seat."

The room is mostly empty for now, but this is unlikely to last long.

Haunani follows, taking the time to re-zip her shorts first.

Phoebe smiles widely. "Now, I certainly understand the thrill of exhibitionism, but maybe dial it back a little next time? I don't want to be forced to report you two lovebirds. Either that or you, missy, need to find a way to gag yourself." She points at the red-faced Haunani. "With that out of the way, are you two going to be busy during lunch? I would absolutely love if you could join me." The professor isn't subtle about eying up the pair of students.

"It's true. The idea it's a translation issue isn't entirely wrong. They're both used as heavily generalized terms. However....here's something you might not be aware. While it's obvious much of the stories of fae originate from Celtic and Irish lore, there's a lesser known detail that some stories that they fairies are fallen angels cast out by God. The belief goes that the fairies who fell into the ocean and earth are actually very gentle creatures..." Julia's thumb pressed the button.

"These fairies are supposed to be allow to dance to moonlight and play in their own territory as they see fit. As long as you don't bother them, they won't ever go out of their way to deliberately hurt you. The technical term you will see in a lot of nordic myth which shares roots is elves, which given the origins and proximity of the tribes, it's more likely they share originating roots than you may think. In a lot of ways, it could be viewed as the norse defintion of elves which refer to two types specifically as Light Elves and Dark Elves, could very well be referring to the same thing. For example, it is true that Alfheim corresponds to a region in modern Sweden....notably surrounded and close to water."

"The Dark Elves in Norse myth live beneath the earth and are seen as the malicious ones that the tales of evil fae folk come from. Which...would in a sense refer to dark elves as creatures that fell from heaven and dwell underneath the earth....which has strong parallels to Catholicism's portrayal of demons. In a sense, light elves and by extension, the sea and earth elves in folklore could be viewed as essentially exiled angels who are not malicious or evil enough to be considered fallen. That's one idea anyway....there's many stories in Irish lore of fairies being brightly colored and vibrant, but malicious and dangerous beings that operate on rules of their own...much like you'd imagine a demon or fallen kind of angel with no mortal understanding would. Of note, the origins of Mephistopheles never actually refer to him as a devil unlike what popular media would lead you to believe. He also had Germanic origins, which naturally shares a lot of roots and histories with the celts and nordic regions....the truth? Who knows...."

Julia took a breath, in part because she needed it, and in part to engage who was paying any attention. "Connections exist everywhere. Some might be real, some might not. But many parts of history and myth coincide in more ways than you might think. Even in your day to day life, it's always worth asking yourself "Am I seeing the whole picture?"

(Is Felicia being a prude part of that reason?:p)

Entering her next class, she takes a look around seeing the paintings, and sculptures inside. Right, art... I... don't think I have an eye for such things... She thought to herself, after all, the only art works she's immersed herself in during her childhood was the images on her duel cards.

As she heard the professor's voice call out to her, Felicia snaps out of her inner monologue, "Ah, good morning. I'm Felicia Matthews." She introduces herself to her professor, giving a soft smile as she goes and finds a seat.

"It's my fault." Adam takes the blame. "When buttons are so easy to push, sometimes I get a little carried away pushing them." He chuckles. "I don't know... That sounds lovely, but I had some plans already." He remembers his idea to do some tutoring with Rachel, but also remembers that she'd merely offered for him to find her at lunch, not set anything up concretely. "But, given that you're a professor, I get the feeling that this could be educational."

"So that idea of being cast out from heaven applies to all of them, not just the Darklords?" Angelica asks. "Interesting..."

Most of the class is paying attention, although there's always the handful of students playing with their phones, whispering, daydreaming, or otherwise not listening all that well.

"You suspect the origin to be Norse because of your own ties, Valkyrie." Haunani posits. "Is there a reason the origin cannot be Chinese, Tao, or Shinto?"

Felicia catches pieces of the professor talking to herself. "She...do...nicely...class."

A prim looking woman in a yellow uniform sits next to Felicia as the room slowly fills.

Like Felicia, she seems uncomfortable with the uniform and has covered it with a regal-looking coat and leggings.

"Invite them too, darling!" Phoebe grins, gesturing widely. "We'll make it an orgy!" She laughs. "It'll be real educational. Mostly for your girlfriend, though. From what I saw, you don't really need the help, stud."

Haunani is genuinely surprised at being called Adam's girlfriend, but she doesn't let it show for long. "I'm interested."

Huh? What's she on about? Felicia thought to herself after overhearing a bit of the professor's mumbling. But soon enough, the other students arrive, with a prim looking one sitting next to her. Well, she's hidden herself more than I have. She thinks to herself, deciding to make nice. "Hey there... uh, neighbor? I'm Felicia." The red-head introduces herself, smiling as she offers a handshake.

"If that was where Sweden and Germany were located, perhaps it would be." Julia gave a rather simple response. She wasn't too thrown off by Haunani already being aware of her spirit, though the fact she's never directly seen Julia play it to get a direct sense of it, did suggest she had quite some sensitivity.

"Don't worry, I also cover geography." Her tone was clearly just teasing more than meant to be actually insulting. She suspected Haunani mostly just wanted to press Julia to see how much she knows. Likely to try and get one over on her. Julia did her natural habit of shutting her eyes for a brief second to focus and breath, before opening them.

"Though the kami in Shintoism are known for both being beings capable of destruction and mercy...even in the same being, with many of them. It's possible to think of it that way, but it would remain unlikely since the sect originating in Japan which was mostly isolated wouldn't have had contact with Germanic regions. That being said...it's not out of the realm, to assume they both could have observed the same thing or wrote myths and stories along the same lines which is common. However, kami aren't visible to the human realm and tend to be a driving conscious force rather than anything with physical deceptions. As for Taoism, they believe in reincarnation and don't believe in a heavenly paradise as such. It is possible those thing could exist along side the natural world in the Taoist view, but they wouldn't concern themselves with the existence of angels or demons to begin with. Taosim would view supernatural as deities that exist along with the natural universe, but all serving a particular role. There is no sense of "fallen" for them. They would all inevitably serve their purpose. The systems of Buddishim would make the implications closer....but unlikely to have held much contact with the Western world while the east was largely isolationist. While Buddihism has many demonic entities on earth in myth who would share the lore, they would never have developed the labeling of "fae" which of itself is French in origin, circulating most heavily within the European parts of the globe."

She gave what she felt like was a pretty concise answer, though she was somewhat interested if she would have a proper follow up.

    "Anything else?"

"Elisa Whalen. Pleasure to meet you." The other student shakes Felicia's hand with her own gloved one. Her voice is crisp and clear, her posture is perfect, and her grip is strong.

A few seconds later, the professor stands and speaks. "Welcome to the class which is a long-winded way of saying Art Appreciation. My name's Alice Labronte. This is basically art class for non-artists. You'll learn the history of the medium, some select movements and artists, and you'll try some drawing and painting yourselves. Speaking of which..." She points her stick to the back of the room where a bunch of easels stand. "I want everyone to pair up. Each pair will take one of those easels to their desks. Then, you will decide what medium you want to use--oils, acrylics, sketching with a pencil, I don't really care. Tell me once you've done that."

Adam chuckles as the enthusiasm. "You're quite the dynamo, aren't you? Somehow, I doubt inviting the math professor to an orgy an hour after I met her is going to have a good impression." He shakes his head. Though he doesn't concur with Pheobe's belief that Huanani is his girlfriend - after all, he's still not certain she's not out to kill him - he doesn't bother to correct Phoebe.

"I won't lie - I've had my eye on you since I first saw you at orientation." He eyes up the woman in the red jacket, approaching her. "In fact, of all the teachers here, you were the one I was planning to bed first." He says confidently.

"Hm? Oh, likewise." Felicia replied, a bit surprised to realize that maybe Elisa wasn't just trying to look regal. Is she from an upper-class family? She thinks to herself, trying to recall if the name Whalen ever popped up during her father's business ramblings. Then as professor Labronte explains what the class is about, and informing how they had to pair up. Felicia looks at her Elisa, "So, uh, you want to pair up?" She asked with a smile.

"I am of the opinion that all of these systems are represented, not solely the one you proposed. Otherwise, why would cards such as Amaterasu exist as Fairies? They do not cleanly sit within the dichotomy you proposed." Haunani proposes.

"Were?" She smiles slyly. "Who got to you first, then? Julia? Maybe Rene? Even Yumi? God forbid, did Timo finally learn he has a cock?!" She gasps in faked surprised.

Whalen is a fairly common name, but Felicia remembers meeting the heir to a Scottish family's small business empire which bore the name. Elisa sort of reminds her of the girl from nearly a decade ago, but the memory is foggy.

"Gladly." She nods. "Allow me to fetch the easel." Elisa gracefully strides across the room and back, carrying the wooden contraption as if it weighed nothing. She gently sets it on the floor. "I have a small amount of experience painting, but I fear I will unable to create anything of real quality. Are you more confident in your ability?"

Huh, could she be? Felicia mumbles, "Oh-uh, yes, please, thank you." She replied as Elisa went to get the easel. "Sorry, unless it's tracing monster cards... I have no confidence in my artistic abilities." She gives a nervous chuckles, "But hey, uh, I have a question. You wouldn't happen to be the Whalen from that business empire, are you?" Felicia whispered, "I was just asking because you looked similar to a girl I met wet about ten years ago."
