The new Adopt a Story Program

Hi, I've already adopted the story Wishful dorm in that I added most of the current chapters, and Friedman has given me access so that I can change older chapters. (Thanks again!)

However, I seem to be limited with regards to editing the story description, the variables and the intro image? The story displays "anonquack" as the creator of chapter 1 and "mcmartin" as the story owner; each of these authors added one pivotal chapter, but not any more.
I do not know how this works: Can I edit the variables, intro image and story description if story ownership is transferred to me? If this can be done, I would greatly appreciate it!

You have the story role "owner" (like mcmartin)

You can edit the story details but as you aren't the original owner, the "Edit Story" link might not be shown.
So you need to access the Edit Story page using the direct link.
The easiest way is to go to the story map, replace the "map" in the address bar with "edit", and open the page.

Three weeks ago I submitted several chapters for review to the story Die junge Pastorin — CHYOA
but the owner hasn't been online for two months.
Is it possible to have them approved, or should I wait longer?

Hey, thanks for your post! I approved your chapters and added you as an author. Your future chapters will then be automatically approved. Happy writing!

Sure, that's possible! Please ask the owner directly–he's active.

I'd add chapters but I need to be able to understand what variables he is using and how. Also, several of the most recent chapters have typos that need cleaned up.

Have you tried to contact the original author? It seems they are still active from time to time.
To edit typos and see what variables are used, you would need to have the story role Editor assigned. With story role Author, you can't see the "source code" of a chapter and can't show hidden variables when you've started a game.

I just started writing a thread in

https://chyoa.com/story/Brazilian-Shemale.14769

though after getting the first few chapters approved, the original author's name has disappeared everywhere. Does this mean that they've deleted their account? If so, can I get the necessary permissions to continue adding to the story? (or maybe it could just be opened, since there is enough other content there that I would prefer to avoid becoming a single point of moderation)

Thank you for reaching out and offering to help! The story's owner is still active on CHYOA. Have you tried reaching out to them directly? They may appreciate your interest and collaboration.

It looks like the original author has deleted their account, which is why their name isn’t showing anymore. I’ve gone ahead and approved your chapters, opened the story, and added you as an author so you can keep contributing.

Let me know if there’s anything else you need!

Hello,

I have just added another chapter to the story Die junge Pastorin. ( https://chyoa.com/story/Die-junge-Pastorin.6699 )

Unfortunately, I know from previous chapters that the owner is very rarely online. Would it therefore be possible for you to release the chapter?

Thank you very much!

Thank you for reaching out!

I’ve approved your latest chapter for Die junge Pastorin, and I’ve also added you as an author to the story. This means that any future chapters you add will be automatically approved.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to let me know.
