“I suppose humans can do to us what they did to those superior creatures they hunted before they had tools to tip the scales in their favor. Use their stamina to hunt them into the ground,” Chloe says as she stands by Hector's side. The young vampire is quickly learning the many lessons that come with looking yet not being human. “I noticed I could barely function when the day came on that.” Chloe looks at a few of the books strewn about the offense before turning back to Hector. “I don’t believe Ineed to feed again tonight. Let the lessons continue.”
"What you should be worried about is the ability to communicate and imagination. That's the scary thing about humans. That's why the Masquerade is in place. Masquerade is a system, that the vampire are obliged to keep the existence of supernatural in secret. This law is enforced and needs to be obeyed, under the threat of death." Hector said in serious tone. The two of them exited the room, leaving the redhead inside. After a few moments the two were in car, driving through the night. "I will have a task for you... if you are feeling you are able to do it tonight?" Hector turned to Chloe with raised eyebrow.
Chloe considered Hector’s statement. Pretending to be human when all you wanted to do was use them for what they could offer you would require vigilance. “Yes, I am eager to learn and prove my worth. What is this task?”
Hector smiled lightly. "How verset, are you in combat?" He asked as he turned the car, taking a route to the fringes of the city.
Chloe frowned. “I got into a couple of fights in high school with some jealous bitches who didn't think I would throw hands. But other than that and watching a few UFC events, not much.”
"Ah..." Hector hummed. "Then we will have to... familiarise you with your body and it's new abilities." "As a Vampire, combat, is something that you will eventually experience." Hector hummed. "It's better to take this out of the way. He said as he looked around, finally, he seemed to notice something... and he frowned. "Where are the trash when you need them... they are always there when you don't." He grumbled as he stopped the car next to an old building. He tsked. "Eh... in this alley, you will find trouble." He waved at the alley that was shrouded in darkness. "Should be easy enough for you to deal with anything you would find there." He said as he looked at her.
“It’s bad enough I’ll dirty this dress. I’d rather not ruin the coat, too.” The young vampire began her trek into the alley, not like the timid drunk girl who had made a wrong turn just a couple of nights ago but as a predatory creature of the night looking for a bit of revenge. Chloe looked down the dirty alley. The lighting was poor, and the streetlamps that did work were old, weak, and yellow. She listened and could hear the sound of scraps and moans. There was life or what passed for it down that foreboding passageway. She took off her coat and handed it to Hector.
Hector smiled as he took the coat. "You will do alright. Remember, you are more now." He assured her as he leaned against the car. Slowly, Chloe entered the dark alley... but it felt, different, from what she was used to. She was not afraid. The darkness was not scaring her... instead, it felt... right. She might not be able to see in darkness but it was somewhat easier then she was used to. As she moved deeper in darkness, she realised there were voices, further down. As she approached, she saw three young men and one woman. They were drinking... smoking... and by the sight of needles, doing drugs. They seemed like an... aggressive bunch.
Heightened by her clan's discipline of Auspex, Chloe's senses picked up on the smells of stale tobacco, a cheap beer, and the four miscreants' lack of hygiene. How to play this? The young vampire had never been much of a fighter, but something inside her cried out to end these four pieces of garbage existence. It was, after all, scum like them that had led her to this fate. Another statistic in the city's growing crime rate had Hector not intervened. Perhaps it would be fitting if they discovered her the way her assailants had, but this time, the outcome would be oh so different. Chloe looked down and saw a discarded bottle of Jim Bean whiskey—a useful prop for her very own masquerade. The young vampire mussed her hair and slung one strap of her dress off her shoulder before stumbling out to greet her prey.
Chloe slowly made her way, stumbling into the side of alley. It was illuminated by fire that someone started in one of the trash cans. Around it, there were four people gathered, smoking and drinking. The first one she noticed, was a dangerous looking man. He looked more like a homeless, unshaven, dirty, tired eyes, but he had an aura of danger around himself... The other one, was a smallest man of the group. He looked like he should be still in school, where he would be bullied by other students. Then there was this mean look in his eye that made one's skin crawl... The other two sat together, looking a little out of place compared to the two men. Primarily, that they were better looking, healthier and cleaner. The woman sitting on knees of the last man, openly cuddling into his chest. The man was deep in thought, in one hand holding a bottle, other groping the tit of the female. At the sound that Chloe was making, all turned to look at her. The small one jumped on his feet and pointed at her. "L-look, look, look!" He called, like a broken record with a shutter, his eyes shining unhealthy.
Chloe studies each and every one of them. Sizing them up deciding who would require her attention first. Don’t underestimate them, and any of that notice my true nature will have to die. “Excuse me… I… I seem to lost… do any of you… no where Hauser Street is?”
"H-Hello, Beau-tiful!" The smallest one called as he approached Chloe. As her attention was on him, she still noticed the one looking like homeless walked behind her, cutting her way out. The pair was happy to continue sitting, as the woman whispered something to the man - both seemed to be smirking. "Wh-why don't you, j-j-j-join us!" The man enthusiastically called as he grabbed her wrist.
Chloe yanks her wrist free. Anger and the beast cross her visage for an instant before she resumes her drunk party girl routine. She tightens her grip on the solid glass bottle. “Oh no thank you,” she says with a slight slur. “I have some friends waiting on me. If you could just point the way.”
The small man almost jumped at quick movement, and backed off, scared, shaking a little. "Come on, don't be like that." the man standing behind her, approached her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Why don't you join us for a drink~" He suggested, lightly pushing Chloe forward.
“I am feeling a bit… thirsty,” Chloe said as she turned to look at the other man’s neck. “What do you all have?”
The man smirked a little, his hand sliding lower, to Chloe's waist as he started leading her to one of 'seats' a crate. "We have some booze." He said as he pointed at the bag. "Beer and some stronger stuff."
Chloe felt the urge to break the man’s arm when his hand touched her lower back. “I always preferred stiffer drinks than beer,” Chloe said as she held up the empty whiskey bottle. “I also see you all like to party. What candy do you have there?”
As if taking a cue, the young one ran quickly to the stash. "We got a few here! You are going to like it!" He said as he raised a number of pills. "Behold! A joy in pill!" He laughed as Chloe sat with the man escorting her. His arm made it around her shoulder... The young man enthusiastically walked up to Chloe, in one hand holding a bottle of Burbon in the other a bag of pills, offering both to her.
"Cups!?" The man beside her laughed. "You don't need cups! Here!" He waved at the small man, and he threw him a bottle. He grabbed it and opened it before giving it to Chloe. "Drink from the bottle!" The man said as he sat down, bringing Chloe down on the crate with him.
