After a few minutes of looking Chloe saw a couple of styles that suited her. One was a warm-weather style, not that that mattered anymore, and the other was more seasonally appropriate. Spoiler: Outfits “Clara, what are your opinions on these outfits?”
Clara looked Chloe up and down, scrutinizing her. After a moment she nodded her head. "Those look very good on you Miss. They are good for everyday wearing." She nodded her head. "Might I suggest something elegant for distinguished parties and something for... let's call it, dirtier work or combat situations." She gave her honest opinion.
Chloe continued to look around taking her time and heeding Clara’s words. “How about these two?” Spoiler: Outfits
Clara looked up and down Chloe and nodded her head. She opened her mouth- "They look good on you, but they are definetly not your style." A sensual, yet hoarce voice whispered behind her back. Chloe turned around to see a woman standing behind her. She was wearing an elegant dress and could be considered attractive - but first impression was quickly gone. The woman's ears were long and pointy, her fangs clearly visible, her skin looked unhealthy and seemed to be falling of at places. It was almost revolting. "Ah~ first time meeting Nosferatu, my dear?" The woman asked, amused. She looked up at Clara. "Reaction to be expected from Toreador~" She said with some annoyance.
Chloe shrunk from the fellow kindred. Not just from revulsion but also a bit of fear. Her mind immediately wished Hector was here for her first encounter with a different clan of vampires. “Sorry, Nosferatu? Like the old black-and-white movie?” Chloe asked, attempting to mask her fear. “And what would be my style?”
The woman smiled. "A fledgling who knows about those 'classics'? In a world that changes so fast, how... refreshing~" The woman smiled, showing her many teeth. "True, this dress would fit you and you would look good in it... but a dress, is also about sending a message." The woman moved around, her claws - not fingers but claws trailing on the opening of the back of the dress. "Tell me, when you wear this, what message will you send? What message do you want to send? 'I am strong'? 'I am powerful'? 'I am mysterious'? 'I am dangerous'? A promise? A temptation? As a Toreador, you will be going around in higher circles and those are things you will need to take into consideration." She walked along the dresses. "So, when you stand, introduced to the Prince's court, what statement do you wish to make with your dress?" she asked as she turned to look at the young vampire.
Chloe thought about what the terrifying woman had just asked. She was no stranger to being at high-profile events with influential people. Many an executive had paid for her to travel and attend elite parties. However, it had never mattered what she had worn before as long as she had come across as beautiful that she made the man whose arm she held higher in esteem for having her had been the driving factor in her attire. “How about something that says I am my own person?” Chloe asked, a smile on her face.
The woman nodded her head with a small smile "Come~" She grabbed Chloe hand and before she knew it, she was standing in front of mirror, as the owner was taking her measurements. "A normal dress from rack or shelves is not something you want. What you need is something individual, unrepeatable. Something made for you and only you." She took a step back and gave Chloe one look over. "Now, do you have any idea what you would like this dress to look like?" She asked as she started writing notes with a pencil.
Chloe thought hard on the subject. She walked around showroom looking at several dresses seeming to take inspiration from each. “Something sleek. Ending at the knee. Perhaps black or midnight blue to contrast with my skin and hair. Something classic that oozes class. And just a kiss of opulence to pay homage to my new nature.”
The woman nodded, a small smile dancing on her lips as she quickly made notes. "Would you prefer simple rim or with lace? Would you prefer the material to hug your legs or to have more space... maybe a cut?" She asked as she pointed at a few dresses to show examples of what she had in mind. "The sleekness... is it that you want the material to reflect light, or be smooth? Maybe silk for a material..." She hummed lightly as she moved around, throwing ideas and dancing around the shelves. Clare stud silently watching the two, and Chloe might have sworn she was radiating amusement... even if her face stayed expresionless.
“I’m looking for simple yet elegant; however, for the rim, perhaps diamonds or peaks might be in order,” Chloe says with a cool smile. “A nice satin finish and something that hugs the body is in order. A slit to allow movement and show off my legs. Yes, silk would work well for a material.” Chloe then turns to her companion. “What do you think Clara?”
The maid looked between Clara and the owner, before answering. "I will leave the choices up to the one who will be wearing the dress and the one who will be making it." She gave a small nod to the shopkeeper. "But I must assure you, Miss Belovoa, Seamstress Basaraz is quite skilled in her art." The Nosferatu waved her hand. "Call me Rea." She waved her hand. "I am good at tailoring because it's something that I love." She answered as she finished taking notes. "What about the top? Any thoughts?"
The elder vampire nodded as she finished taking notes. "One moment." She said as she started drawing the dress on paper. "So, this is how it will look like once I finish it. Do you have anything else you would like to change, or are you satisfied with this?" She asked as she showed the paper to Chloe. Rea, managed to catch on it what Chloe described.
The maid, allowed herself to be pulled to the take a look at the paper with the drawing. "I am sure, you will look fabulous in it, Miss Belovoa." She spoke with a voice laced with light amusement. "Seamstress Basaraz, how long-" "Three days at minimum." The woman answered as she moved the pencil along the lines, as if she was sculpturing, not really ging any additions, instead perfecting the cuts and curves that were already there. Not really changing Chloe's vision - only perfecting it. "I will send you the bill once I count all the materials and all the work I will spend on it." Rea said, her eyes not leaving the page with a drawing, scrutinizing it. "Ofcourse." Clara bowed her head. "And the payment for the clothes we already choosen?" Rea blinked as she glanced at clothes. She quickly packed all of them into bags and walked to the register. Clara, almost with similar efficiency was there moment later, paying for the clothes. "Do you wish to browse som more, Mrs Belovoa? Or is what you bought enough for now?" The maid asked.
Chloe thinks for a bit and then looks at her chaperone. “I think that is enough for now. Clara, are you hungry? Would you like to get something to eat?”
The maid raised an eyebrow at the suggestion. "If miss desires so, I wouldn't mind accompanying her for a... 'meal'. Through-" A small smirk danced on her lips - or was it just an illusion? "I am unsure if I would be able to... partake, in your meal."
"Indeed, I eat food. Human food is what sustains me. Also, as a ghoul, from time to time I need the blood of my master, to retain my bond and longlevity." Clara nodded her head. She then turned to Nosferatu and bowed. "It was a pleasure, Mistress Basaraz." The seamstress turned to Clara and nodded. "As alway, a pleasure Clara." Rae nodded. "Tell your master, that he can come himself... anytime." There was something in he voice - something that spoke a history. "I shall pass the message." Clara bowed.
