Nami laughed, feeling some of the weight of the situation lift – a burden she knew they all shared. Together, it would be easier. “I hope we won’t have to rob anyone,” she said. “Even little things here and there will add up. All we need for now is enough credits for food and fuel, and we can move on, somewhere further from Zygerria. Once we find a nice neutral planet, then we can think about our food stand.”
"Blyat." Olena made the quick calculation that if someone had thought they had the drop on her troops, but didn't think things had gone well, they would be the ones to make a run for it. "Leg him!" She commanded Daw, before raising her blaster rifle to take a shot at the runner herself, hoping to immobilize and interrogate them after the fact.
Spoiler: Combat 6 Vs DC 10 - fail Seri lunged moved up to bite- ! A fist landed on her face, stunning her for a moment. The knife was moving closer to Seri's throat- ! Suddenly a rope was put around Twi'lek's throat - and as Seri looked up, she saw Jura tighten the rope to start choking the purple alien.
Kaelaen smiled as the two continued walking through the market. "True." She easily agreed. Then she continued walking along Nami, in comfortable silence, content to just follow her lead and allow her time to think. The two walked among the stands - a few of them selling food, most of them illegal contraband, weapons, spice, droids, ship parts and more...
Spoiler: Shot DC 10 for hit DC 13 for hitting leg Dew 14 Olena 15 Dew raised his repeating blaster, and a send a couple of bolts, quickly joined by Olena's own blaster rifle - surprisingly both of them hit the runner in legs - instead of outright killing. There was a scream as blasters hit the running person in legs - a female scream. Then moans, as she rolled on the ground, with a cry.
Seri gasps, ragged and shaky as she reels from the punch. She can feel her cheekbone burning with pain, her vision swimming. There’s a moment where she stops struggling, facing the end, and thinks for just a fleeting second how much she’d have liked to have that chat with Nami. Then Jura is there, and Seri’s senses slam back to reality. “W-wait! Don’t kill her! Don’t!” She finds herself crying, even as she tries to wriggle free from under the murderous Twi’lek.
Without thinking, Nami’s hand goes to her pocket – to where the pocket would be on her old jacket. Lost now, along with the credits that would be there. She sighs and pats the pockets she does have, looking to see how many credits she has on her. “Can you think of anything we need right away?” she asks Kaelaen, indicating the stalls. “Some weapons, if we can afford them, maybe – just for safety…?”
Jura paused and looked at Seri with raised eyebrow, she opened her mouth to speaks ! "AgH!" She gasped as Twi'lek jabbed her arm with a knife. The pilot stumbled back, letting go of the rope. The Twi'lek was breathing heavily, the rope still wrapped around her neck, the chest band slipped, freeing one of her large breasts. She got on her knees, ready to lung at the pilot.
As she checked her jacket she realised, that she had around 100 credits. It would be enough for a couple of days for one person... Kaelaen shook her head. "Food." Her answer was almost instant. "We need food, the rest we can figure out in coming days - weapons, would be nice, but we first need food." She said with confidence.
Kriff! Seri throws herself forward, fingers grasping at the rope. At the same time, she pitches to the side, trying to use her body’s momentum and weight to drag the Twi’lek back with the garrotte. She swings one leg around, with the aim of catching the woman’s knife-hand, trying to lock down the deadly weapon,
Spoiler: Combat DC 10 - rope DC 15 - hold a rope and kick at the same time Dice:13 DC 10 - success DC 15 - fail Seri lunged onward and grabbed the rope, trying to kick at the same time - she managed to miss spectacularly, pulling the Twi'lek down as both of them fell on the ground on her back and Twi'lek on top of her. Jura quickly moved forward, landing on top of both of the women, grabbing with her good hand the arm that held the knife, and struggling to keep it away from both of them. "Pull it!" Jura gasped, struggling as blood slowly covered her hand. "Strangle the bitch!"
Seri wheezes as she hits the ground again, the breath shocked from her lungs. Pinned beneath the Twi’lek, her panicked eyes meet Jura’s. She can’t do it - she can’t kill… but if she doesn’t… She grips the rope tight, yanking back as hard as she can, the cord digging into her fingers as she constricts her attackers airways.
“Food. Yes. You’re right.” Nami divides up the credits she has and hands half to Kaelaen. “Let’s get as much as we can, to add to our stores. If we have to ask people to go out and work, it can at least be on a full stomach.” She looks over the vendors available, sparing a thought for the range of different species aboard the ship – trying to find a balance between affordability and meeting those different nutritional needs. Ready to turn on the charm and look for bargains wherever she can make them.
The struggle continued for a couple of moments- "Gha!" The Twi'lek choked as she finally let go of the knife - which Jura quickly pushed away. The Twi'lek wrapped her legs around the pilot, trying to push her, while her hand moved back, touching Seri's face, trying to desperately push her away, while at the same time, trying to remove the rope around her neck. Jura quickly grabbed her arms, pulling them away from the rope and Seri's face. "Ygh!" The Twi'lek grunted, her voice filled with desperation.
Kaelaen frowned as she took the money. "Splitting up is a bad idea." She said as she handed the money back, unwilling to leave Nami alone. Spoiler: Vendor 6 As the two looked around, it took them a moment to find a vendor who would sell them all the required food - an older fat human, but he was... resistant to change the price. He wanted to sell a day's ration for 100 credits. Which, to be fair, was medium galactic. Spoiler: Charm 4+3 vs DC 10 - fail As Nami started talking to the man, she sweet-talked him into lowering the price, she found that her charm did not exactly work... She could pay the price, or try something more daring... to convince the man.
"Keep an eye on her," Olena commanded, leaving Daw on overwatch as she hurtled to the house to check on her people. When she got to the entrance, she would raise her blaster before she entered, ready to defend herself.
Nami’s stomach lurches at what she’s considering. After everything that’s happened, and with Kaelaen right there, watching! But…every credit counts here. She has to do better! Trying to start subtle, she moves closer to the merchant; letting him look down at her more, emphasising his power in the situation, while also giving herself a better chance of sensing his reaction through pheromones. She lets him know that she and her crew will be in port another couple of days, that she’ll be back to buy food for their stay and their ongoing journey – and she hopes she and the merchant can arrive at a strong business relationship in that time… All the while trying to hide her disgust with herself. Please don’t hate me for this, Kae…
Seri pulls doggedly, arms straining as she draws the cord back, pushing her lower body against her attacker for leverage. She flinches as those desperate hands rake her face. And she can’t meet Jura’s eyes. She has no idea how hard she needs to pull to render the Twi’lek unconscious. And whether she’s already pulling hard enough to kill. Please. Please don’t make me kill you. Please. All she can do is keep pulling,
Olena's companion gave a grunt, as he made a way to the downed female, carefully, weapon prepared. As Olena made her way to the building, through the door - she had move back, as a blaster struck the door frame not far from her head. "Stop firing, you idiot!" A female called - Olena recognized as her companion. "Sorry!" The technician called, his voice laced with nervousness.
Spoiler: Charm 16+3 Vs DC11 The second time, while the man was more resistant, Naomi's actions seemed to bare fruit. He stumbled and steamed. "W-well-" He shuttered. "I could go down with the price... To, ah- fifty credits-" He said, flush covering his face. "We can check the storage- you know, I can show you!" Kaelaen kept to the back, in the background, her arms crossed. She did not interfere, and her face did not show any dislike... Or any opinion on Naomi's actions.
