Post bug reports here!

I don't know if this is the best place to put this but I can't find a obvious spot either. i'm attempting to comment on the latest chapter of a story I'm following along with but it won't accept my comment because it's apparently registering as spam. It won't explain why so I don't know how to fix the problem. Any thoughts?
What is the comment you're trying to post?

I don't remember the exact comment but I was commenting on a character's behavior, theorizing on how another was going to be handles then I ended with a question.

It’s usually caused by a period without a space after it, because the spam filter can sometimes read that as a domain.

For example, something like:

“end of sentence.it is…”

can look like a website/domain to the filter.

Don't know whether this is just my laptop's display but when I was editing a chapter today I noticed in the variable change I could see the variable name and type, the type of change and the visibility of the variable, but I couldn't see the value. I was just publishing the chapter so I was assuming the value was still there, but concerned.

Further investigation it's just my laptop (desktop is fine). My laptop has a relatively small low-resolution screen (I primarily use it for writing), so it does sometimes struggle displaying things correctly. Don't worry too much about it. I'll just load new chapters in using my desktop, which is what I've tended to do anyway.

Story view counts on the "My Stories" page update on the hour, every hour... except at 14:00 UTC. This seems to have changed at some point between November 1 and March 27. Before that they updated every hour.

Like counts update fine.
This seems to have been fixed around June 11-14 (too lazy to do the timezone calculations), thanks!

When you accidentally publish a chapter instead of making it a draft, your viewers get a notification. But when you then delete the chapter, the notification stays, leading viewers to error pages. It'd be nice if notifications for deleted chapters were also deleted.

This should be fixed now. Thanks, TheLowKing! :)

I had two new notifications that refused to go away and kept showing as new until I used the Show All option to see all of my ntifications. Has there been a change to when notifications are marked as read?

Yes, this is part of the new behavior.

Previously, opening the notification dropdown marked all notifications as read, even if some of them were not actually shown there. That wasn’t ideal either, because it could make people miss notifications.

That said, I think you may be right here. If the new notifications are already shown in the header dropdown, they should probably be marked as read there, so using Show All is not necessary when there are only a few. I’ll take another look at that.

Thanks for pointing it out.

I’ve changed this behavior now.

Notifications shown in the header dropdown should now be marked as read, so using Show All should no longer be necessary when there are only a few new notifications.

Zeebop and I just encountered a bug. He tried to post a chapter in Marcie and Gina Reads, but was only able to put the chapter in under review, even though he is listed as author, so the chapter should have been published automatically.

Furthermore, I didn't receive the usual notification that the chapter was submitted.

Thanks for the bug report. I went through the chapter submission flow and updated it, so I think this should be fixed now.

Zeebop should now have his chapters approved automatically again when he posts as an author. It would be great if you could confirm whether it works now.
