The version of Unicode used by CHYOA (5.1?) lacks support for just about all emoji, causing stories to break if you use any. But basically any story set in the present day will have characters who text each other, and that usually involves at least a few emoji. Not having any makes that annoyingly hard to pull off. It'd be nice if they worked, like they do in most places.
I have prepared an upgrade of the database, and I will probably do this over the next days. I'll let you know once it's done.
I still have this on my to-do list. I may actually be able to get it done this week. The main reason I haven’t done it yet is that I need to put the site into maintenance mode and make a change to the database, so it’s a bit more involved than most updates. I’ve already prepared most of what’s needed for the change, though, so hopefully I can finally get this done soon.
