Kaelaen looked between Seri and Nami.

"You two... Go to bed. You deserve rest." She paused, a smirk tracing her lips. "Captain's quarters has the best bed." She added. "I will check out the Twi'lek and see if she had left any surprises." She paused and glanced at the pilot. "And make sure the idiot doesn't do anything stupid."

Jura grumbled.

"You are still sore about loosing the last Pazaak game..."

Olena hummed in thought as she noticed the picture, grabbing it and inspecting it, looking closely at the person in Imperial uniform... After a few moments, her eyes narrowed as she put the portrait back where she found it, before starting another search - just to be sure there wasn't another person in the building.

Olena noticed that the woman was an older one, definetly not the one they captured. But there was some resemblance.

She checked the house, walking aroun, not that big place but she found no one else.

“Be careful, if you do.” Seri touches Kaelaen’s shoulder, eyes full of guilt and concern. “I don’t know where she was holed up but… she came out swinging.

She takes a few steps back, lingering by the doorway, unsure of her place now. She knows how appealing the captain’s bed looked, but can she really bear to us it?

Straightening up, Nami has to steady herself against the wall; rubbing the back of her neck as she gets her bearings. Where was the way out again – ? And she notices Seri seeming a little lost as well. She makes her way over.

“I was gonna head back to my ship,” she says, offering to take Seri’s hand, “but right now I’d take anywhere I can lie down. Would you mind…helping me not fall down along the way? Doesn’t matter to where.”

@lady-lux

Seri detaches herself from the doorway, suffering a little tilt in her balance - she really is tired. There’s every chance she’ll be the one falling down.

She takes Nami’s hand gratefully, though the contact is wrapped up in the same feelings of guilt and trepidation. Is this really the time to confess exactly what she’s done? Is that really fair?

“Course.” She nods, touching Nami’s forearm with her other hand, should she have her own wobble. “Let’s just…”

She pauses, desperately wanting to be away from here. But she’s not the one who’s been out providing for them all, and she’s not the one who’s been properly tending to Jura. “I can show you where the captain’s room is. It’s closer. If - if that would help.”

@majus
@Elfie

Thoughts swirl drowsily in Nami’s head. Is it her imagination that Seri seems hesitant, reluctant? She’s not sure. The way everyone talked about the captain’s bed made it sound comfortable. The captain…who was the—?

Thassco. Thassco was the captain. Thassco’s bed.

A chill down her spine pushes her back to queasy consciousness. Seri is still waiting for an answer. She shakes herself, and tries to smile.

“…Wherever you like,” she says, as bright and reassuring as she can manage. “Wherever you’re comfortable, anywhere at all – I don’t mind if we have to walk.”

@lady-lux

(Thought I’d roll for Seri’s response in the interest of fairness, see if she picks up on anything!)

Seri pauses, lips parted as she considers. Nami seems fine, doesn’t she? And yet, earlier neither of them wanted to stay on this ship; and there she is, saying I don’t mind if we have to walk…

“If… you’re sure. I - I could really do with being away from here. Just for a bit.” She glances to the side, feeling conflicted. “It’s not been a good day.”

Taking a breath, she tries to look a little more put-together, straightening up. “There is some stuff I found in the captain’s cabin. It wasn’t a complete disaster. But that can keep till tomorrow. Let me walk you back to your ship?”

@majus
@Elfie

Nami nods – relieved, still a little shaken. “Of course. Sounds – sounds like a plan.”

She focuses what energy she has on keeping her legs under her, trying not to lean on Seri too much; but giving up on any sense of direction in favour of being guided away from here.

Satisfied their security wasn't compromised for now, Olena would go to retrieve her men and their prisoner. "You boys go make sure Jackie is comfortable. I need to talk with this one."

Once Trisk and Dew were gone, Olena sat the farmgirl down in the living room, before sitting across from her. The least she could do was meet the other woman in the eye and try to soften the blow by being honest. "Your father and brother, they were the other men in the house? I'm sorry, but they were killed in the fight." The vixen grew silent, allowing the wounded person - probably both physically and mentally - to process her words before continuing. "Is there somewhere you would like their bodies to be kept until they can be buried?"

8+2(persuasion) Vs DC 10

As Nami talked, Seri noticed something was not right. It was only due to her own experience, she realised it - Nami, was not comfortable with prospect of going to this ship's captain's quarters.

She felt there was more to it, but with her own mixed feelings, she was to unfocused to catch what it was...

The young woman was put on the chair, She had to push herself, with her hands, not to slide down.

She winced from pain then flared at Olena.

"Preferably, on bodies of their killers." She snarled. "And I would be really glad, if it included yours."

Seri pushes herself to keep going, even with a growing pressure in her head - a feeling of tiredness and fatigue steadily draining her of will and energy.

But she has Nami to focus on - Nami, who’s holding them all together at great cost to herself. Nami, who’s done so much to look after them. She guides them both through the corridors of the ship, then down towards the ramp, drawing closer to The Paraselene.

“Listen.” She begins, a little cautiously, “You must be beyond exhausted. Will you let me take care of you? You’ve got to rest, Nami.”

@majus
@Elfie

Tired as she is, Nami can always feel guilty. You just got thrown into all this, she wants to say. I should be looking after you… But she can’t argue with what Seri’s saying. Barely able to keep her eyes open, she just nods with a smile.

“Seems like you already are taking care of me,” she says softly. “Thank you.” Her hand seeks out Seri’s shoulder to give a comforting squeeze, to feel the warmth of contact as her other senses fade in her drowsiness.

@lady-lux

Kriff, she’s about as tired as I am. Are we even going to make it much further?

Seri continues to take the lead, slipping an arm around Nami’s waist, to let her better support the other woman. She’s so very beyond fatigue, that the proximity to the blue beauty barely registers with her.

“Then I’ll carry - carry on.” She mumbles, taking leaden steps up the entry ramp of Nami’s Paraselene, leading them inside. “You’re the Doc, but even you need rest. I’ll just get us to your room and then I’ll… I’ll find somewhere to…”

She trails off, not even sure if she’s talking to Nami or herself, peering groggily around the ship for Nami’s quarters.

@Elfie

It’s tempting for Nami to just cling on to Seri and let herself drift off— No! I can’t be that useless. She squeezes her eyelids shut before blinking them open them again, searching around for the access controls – her hand shaking as she enters the codes to get them on board, and then again to secure the ramp from the inside. Safe.

She pauses for breath before turning to Seri. Reaching out to grasp her warm pink hands – intending to reassure, but is it Seri she’s reassuring, or herself? Everything feels somehow smudged.

“You don’t have to find anywhere else if you don’t want,” she says. “Mm, actually, I’ve locked you in now, so – um. I’m not sure if I’m making any sense.”

"Reasonable," Olena noted with a shrug. "I'm sorry about this. It was just bad luck all around, I think." For her part, she was truly remorseful. If something similar had happened to the Amaran's family, it would have shattered her... But they were here now, and she had to make a decision about what to do with this girl.

"Tell me about the area and I'll make sure nothing bad happens to you. Where's the nearest settlement? Where's the nearest Imperial outpost? Is there a spaceport nearby?"

Seri squirms a touch as Nami takes her hands, shifting under that intense inky gaze. She feels exposed - on one level, it’s almost pleasant. But her recent sins still lie heavy on her.

“I - no that’s. That’s fine I.” She starts and stops, head tilted as she meets Nami’s eyes at last. “I don’t mind being locked in. With you.”

What a stupid, stupid thing to say!

Her brows knit into a look of concern, feeling those shakes continue. Knowing that they both look ready to drop. It’s probably just where she’s tired but… is there something more to the shaking? “Let me take you to bed - get you to bed. But, Nami are you… are you just tired or… are you okay?”

@majus
@Elfie

At first, Nami is able to laugh a little at Seri’s – at her own – tired fumbling with words. But she’s frozen for a moment as that last question pierces her composure. Her black eyes shine with tears.

“It’s been— I’m sorry,” she whispers. “A lot of – of s-stuff has happened. In the last couple of days. And I’m not – I can’t—”

She shakes her head, unable to speak of it. “B-but seeing you wake up. Seeing everyone – with hope. Enjoying themselves. Free.” She sighs, the thought itself giving her some relief. “That’s what’s k-keeping me going. I’m sorry, I can’t just dump all this on you…”

@majus
@lady-lux

Seri’s heart sinks to see those tears forming, and her hands twitch in Nami’s grip, impulsively wanting to wipe the tears away, or pull her closer.

To see Nami so defeated, even apologising, is torture. She takes a step closer, a little uneven but pushing on. “You - you don’t have to say anything. I just - you - you’ve done so much for me. I want to do whatever I can to help you. You could never -“

She stops abruptly, swallowing as she feels her own tears starting to gather. “You don’t have to say anything.” She repeats, “But if you ever need to, you can.”

She wriggles one hand free to swipe at her eyes, a small sob breaking through. She squeezes their grip with her other hand, “But I’m, I’m glad that keeps you going - it’s all because of you, y’know?”

Nami’s mouth opens and closes a couple of times – no words found to express what she wants to say. Finally, though, it’s too much to wait, to try and ask. Unable to stop herself, she throws her arms around Seri, hugging for all she’s worth – feeling the soft warmth of their bodies together. Wanting only to lose herself for a while and leave all her worries behind.
