I'm not talking about getting in the mood to write but asking for help getting in the right mindset.

I've tried working with AI but found it frustrating because it offers the wrong mindset. In fact, working with AI has so messed up my mindset that I'm finding it hard to write at all. Any advice to help me clear out the AI garbage from my mindset so I can get back to writing?

  2. Possibly depends on what you are trying to write? I'm aware this is a forum attached to an erotica site but it's fairly broad in terms of content.

Generally, I right gay erotica. I used to write intelligent gay erotica, not your typical porn script and that's part of how AI ruined me. AI writing is so stupid.

Currently, I've got an idea for a story in which Mr. Thompson uses Chad to teach male sexual anatomy.

I do some of my best writing right after I watched a really good film or episode, or read (part of) a really good book. It leaves me in a vaguely detached headspace that I find really helps with producing the good shit.

I'm not sure how useful that is as a standard approach, since I assume you, like most people, don't have the spare time to immerse yourself in good stories for a couple of hours in addition to the time you spend writing. But as an occasional palate cleanser it may still help.

Thank you. That is good advice and you are correct that my current situation doesn't leave me much opportunity to enjoy good stories: movies or books. But as I do get the opportunities, I will do as you recommend.
