So I have been kicking around the idea of a story that centers around Crossdressing and I have been wondering what Genre should I list it under? I thought about putting it under transexual but that is not really accurate since the crossdressing character still thinks of themselves as Male and they don't want to become female. It is more about the tension between that character and another who does think they are a woman. I have been thinking about if I should put it under Gay or even Erotic Couplings since I am not planning on it being a very dark story. So I guess the question is what heading should Crossdressing of this kind come under?
I kinda feel like Fetish is too generic. I mean you could really put most stuff on this site into that category.
From what you said, Gay or Transsexual. Transvestite isn't the same as Transsexual, of course, but I feel it touches on similar appeals to readers and the categories aren't perfect guides. Plus, if I understood you, there is a separate character who may be transsexual, or leaning in that direction. So even if its not the main character, between having a main transvestite character and a secondary transsexual character, that's a pretty good spot. If there's a major theme of gay sex, and I misunderstood and there's not a secondary transsexual character, the Gay category works next best. Erotic Coupling or Fetish are *both* very generic. I think Fetish is the stronger, and actually less generic option here for the themes you've touched on. So, in order, I'd look at: Transsexual Gay Fetish Erotic Coupling as a last resort. EDIT: Okay, I see I misunderstood you and there isn't (necessarily) a secondary character who is a transsexual. Yeah, I think Gay is technically strongest, then, from the details given... but might be a turn-off to people that might still appreciate a hot transvestite, a trap or whatever, and so Fetish might get you more views.
Yeah, I didn't make that very clear. What I meant was that there is the character that crossdresses and a guy who doesn't know that that character is actually male. So I guess it is sort of a Trap story.
"Does traps is gay???" ...You'll have to travel far and wide to find one wise enough to give you the answer to that...
I absolutely would not put this under the gay section, maybe a tag, later on, if you include male/male content. If your character gets with a not male, or you leave that option open, that to me, strictly excludes your story from the gay section. Might I suggest miscellaneous?
Miscellaneous? No. Miscellaneous is for polls and game designs and information topics and... Stuff. There is a bisexual category, though.
