Idea I had: 18 year old is cursed and needs to lose their virginity at their 18th Birthday Party. Failure to have sex leads them to repeat the day until they do the do. After a certain amount of failures, the character could begin to suffer penalties such as waking up later, becoming uglier, or genital shrinkage, possibly ending with them dead.
Funny concept. Could also work the other way... - the girl purposely trying to get her cherry popped, which leads to the repetition of the day. - the girl could be a rather easy one who gets laid at every party. She could attend another party. If she has sex, the day repeats and the party goes on and on. After some repetitions and having had most of the other guests, it gets boring and she could eventually stop sleeping around, finally ending the day.
That's a neat idea Ben. As gene mentioned, lots of different ways to twist it as well. An option that could lead to more sex scenes (good for erotica stories) might be that for some reason he/she wants or needs to keep his/her virginity but events at his 18th birthday party all conspire to getting them laid, seemingly no matter what they do to avoid it. After orgasm...they are waking up that same morning once more. Personally I would write your concept as a romantic comedy, much like the movie. Play off of the tropes of erotica, flip things around, everytime the reader thinks the MC is about to be laid something intervenes, have everyone but the MC getting some action, have the main character be forced to learn some lessons along the way. Perhaps in the end the MC ends up with the one person they never really considered, a quiet wallflower who had a crush on them or someone in their "friend zone". It might have some touching or down moments but I would try to keep it light and fun. I definitely wouldn't have the MC end up dead (unless you mean like in the movie where they just wake up again), though this could very easily be a dark story concept as well. The concept would work well for a CYOA story too. So many ways to take this. Could be a fun one if you decide to work on it. Good luck with it if you do.
One could write it as Game-Mode story with the new feature of hiding the chapters, whose condition you don't meet. By talking and interacting with the different characters, you get to know them better, gather knowledge and information about them. Set these things as a variable, which unlock different choices/paths on the next and all following loops through the same day/party/event. One could make a puzzle-game out of it, where you first have to complete all or certain paths to unlock all the required variables, and then you need to take exactly the right path through the story to achieve the desired goal, i.e. lose virginity, or don't orgasm, so you don't have to go through the loop again. Puzzle example: a) Talk to a guy / girl separately and realize that they might be into each other -> set variable b) From now on you have the option to introduce them to each other. if you do, they make out and leave the party together later. c) Now if you buy condoms before the party, introduce them, but interrupt them while they are making out, and hand them condoms, they will move to the master bedroom and occupy it to have some fun. d) This in turn might force the couple, which would normally move to occupy the bedroom during this time, to find looked doors, and thus make them available for actions/conversation (to unlock yet another piece of the puzzle)
Some great ideas to ponder over. I was mulling over pursuing this or not, but I'm now seeing the true potential this story could have.
That could be quite interesting. Though in some cases it isn't enough to have the information as you need to get the other person to a certain point in the conversation. And if you use some information in a conversation, the other person could become suspicious because you know a secret you shouldn't know. If you're going for the option with a sex scene each day (which I'd prefer), there could also be repetitions of the "same" sex scene. Depending on the options, they could play out differently but if the reader chooses the same options, it could become kind of "boring" or "depressing" like "I'm close, I'm close... but fuck, he won't last long enough! (Again!)". Though it could also become better as the protagonist would know what to avoid to make it better or to make them last longer.
