I'm curious about this new 'adopt a story program' though I'm not entirely sure I know how it works or the rules and context of it.

Could you provide me some clarity on the matter?

 

There are a lot of stories out there which are abandoned by their original authors.
These stories can be adopted by other authors to manage, edit and maintain them. (approve and edit new contribution as well as improving the existing content if necessary)

So if the story owner wasn't active for a long time, you can ask for adoption.

The list at the beginning of this thread shows stories where the owners were absent for a long time.

On the old site, the original owner was replaced by the adopter, though the original owner can get the story back if they want.

It hasn't been update in a few months and I've been obsessing about it for half a month. Owner's last visit note just says "A while ago", which I take to mean they haven't been on in a few months.

I would love to see this one become active again
