I am curious if it’s possible to add a gender change or (broader) transformation category to the list of story types. The reason I ask is because Mind Control has its own category from Fantasy and Sci-fi. Additionally while people like to group Gender Change with Transexual the two aren’t necessarily the same. I’d argue that Trans is for more realistic stories whereas Gender Change is for more Fantastical. Lastly I’d opt for a Transformation category as it’s a broader category. My current problem is having three categories that my stories can be considered Mind Control/Fantasy/Sci-fi. And having a Transformation or Gender Change category would help people who want them to find them.
I don't see any connection between Mind Control and Fantasy or Science Fiction. Fantasy implies a medieval-like world mostly including elves, orcs, magic and the like, Science Fiction a futuristic world which is base on science or pseudo-science.
Mind Control if it’s just Hypnosis is fine, but then you have the fantasy versions like love potions and spells; sci-fi has mind probes and brainwashing ray guns. Same with tranformation; you have the realistic surgery, magic potion/spell, nanobots/transformation raygun.
There's going to be overlap in a lot of categories - I've got a fan fiction story that has magic, sci fi, transformation, hypnosis, gender bending, etc. - I think you might accomplish more with tags than separate categories.
