Hi there Being a fan of genderswap stories, I'm loving this new story and it's setting. I did have an idea for a new story arc involving prisoners at a maximum security facility. The premise being that in one state a law has been passed where all male convicted criminals are given X-Change. The rationale of the state being that prison breaks and riots are almost unheard of it women's correctional facilities and that for various reasons such as security required and lower food consumtion considerable savings could be made to the prison budget. Since starting the thread would be establishing a law I have hesitated to begin it. A second question concerns content of the story. I have seen captions on the sites you linked to that include dub con and non con. Are these permissible in the story?
Don't hesitate to create new laws or new pills. I'd encourage it before I discouraged it. I don't necessarily see each story beimg interconnected or taking place in the same universe. They can operate on their own with their own rules. Dubious and non consent are abolutely permissible.
Right now, I'm imagining a story of a DEA officer trying to fight the black market in X-Change knockoffs, or even an FDA regulator or an FTC prosecutor ensuring the pharmaceutical companies that manufacture X-Change are being open and honest about their products. There's a lot of avenues to explore here outside of the many stories on the consumer end. Having an over-the-counter gender-swap pill would completely redefine the psychology of gender. It would eliminate the problems and stress inherent in a trans identity (just take an X-Change Plus), and end the complicated process of gender reassignment surgery. It may guard against institutional sexism if gender is this fluid, and would work towards ending homophobia for many as well if orientation becomes fluid along with it, although both ideas would remain among those ardent souls committed to bad ideas, despite that fact it'll be that much harder to perpetuate them. Speaking of that, even though X-Change may be legal in the US, Canada, Australia, or much of Europe, I can see many countries limiting its use or banning it entirely for various reasons, such as staunch religious grounds (Saudi Arabia), maintaining the "natural" order of things (Russia), or it just plain being an affront to deeply-held attitudes about gender and society (North Korea). Groups would rise up protest it, and in the US, they may even have marginal success at first before some kind of non-discrimination lawsuit overturns anything pushed through by lobbyists in Congress. And that's just the societal effects I can think of at the moment! Very interesting story, Noah_Peal!
X-Swap for use in illegal prostitution operations and by those seeking revenge. Hard to tell apart from X-Change in effects, but illegal as all living hell. Asian and South American knock off Pill is Purple with small flakes of red instead of pink Massive dump in hormones and other chemicals causes long term changes to the body Long term alteration can be achieved after five doses but can be reversed after the changes have settled To ensure compliance the drug causes changes in the brain to crave sex and follow orders but isn't perfect Suggested rule changes/world clarifications The reason that you get pregnant is because of the overload of female hormones in your system. If you become pregnant the reason you can't change back is because the chemicals running through your body thanks to the little sucker inside you overpower the drug. After you have a baby and your body settles back down you can change back but long term metal changes may of occurred X-Change supplies free day after pills as part of a lawsuit stemming from the street version and other drugs like it Due to the large number of X-Change users seeing a guy in womens clothing may be funny but not that unusual X-Change supplies dosage instructions on its website to achieve you desired result. A massive dose may cause you to go crazy, but a small amount over a week will cause longer term but slower changes. Another aspect of the dossage page is that users can become just as much of a man or women as they want by entering their height, weight, and doing some basic math. Also Yarkoz gave me an idea for a story. As part of a gender sensitivity class ordered by your work after one to many slips of the hand you are required to spend a week at work as a women.
A thought did occur to me from a couple of threads I wrote mentioning handcuffs and a chastity belt and also from a GIF I was trying to make with a chastity belt in it. Once tight fitting metal restraints were locked on an X-Change user in female form it could be very messy if the pills wore off.
seeing as I am not into dicks getting ripped off lets just go ahead and say that the body can tell whats where and won't change if there is something in the way. Handcuffs are less of an issue, wrists vary based on weight a lot more than gender I think. Just say they get tighter instead of cutting hands off. Belt could be a interesting plot device, get it off in 24 hours or you are stuck as a women type of thing, Reverse of normal, instead of if you have sex you will stay a women, it is if you don't you stay a women. Or something like that.
That thread of the story could use a bit of work. It just dead ends right now. Want me to try and add some stuff to it to try and flesh it out? Gif is really high quality though
I love the captioned GIF; Andy's story is actually my favorite of your work, with X-Chage anyway, though it's all great, almost too good. I've spent most of my free time the last two days reading on how to write better.
I have quite a bit more of Andy's story, in my head at least. Any additions to that arc would be great though. Being surprised at the differing alternatives other writers come up with on a storyline is for me one of the best things with CHYOA. Reading an addition to your thread and seeing the plot go off in a direction you had not thought of is a buzz.
Suggestion X-Change is water soluble, you can spike a dink, or suspend it in water and inject it for that surprise butt sex moment
Noah_Peal did an arc where the pill was spiked in somebody's food. Perhaps a soluble version might only be available on the black market? The possibility of it being used maliciously already known by the manufacturer, so they tried to limit this. Black market versions as always have the risks that the birth control element has been left out.
The pharmaceutical company may make time-released gel tablets or capsules to prevent abuse, or even prescribed varieties only available with a doctor's note and that can be only administered in hospital settings, like injectable forms, topical sprays, oral suspensions, or even suppositories. If the basic formula is that easy to replicate however, some kind of fancy patenting wizardry must be going on to keep it from completely leaking out into the black market, maybe even a government stake in the company. If not that, then the licensure for X-Change must come with incredible amounts of strings attached to the manufacturer with regulations upon regulations. If however creating it is something like meth labs which could detonate at any minute if you get the chemistry wrong, that comes with its own set of problems. Imagine buying a house from a less-than-honest realtor then undergoing a slow transformation because the X-Change formula is embedded in the walls, much like how former houses that once created meth or crack must be razed because they're uninhabitable.
What are people's thoughts on how looks are changed by the pill. I've tended to go for characters retaining their general colouring and characteristics. Becoming essentially a female version of their original self. A tall blonde guy becomes a tall blonde woman, a slim Asian guy becomes a slim Asian woman etc. Tattoos, piercings etc, I would imagine remain through the change, being things outside of the hosts DNA/chromosones. Or could recessive genes surface during a change? Hair colour or even race altering due to a redheaded or different race grandparent?
I kinda ran with the idea that they changed a person more randomly, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of them turning into the other version of themselves, maybe with a few enhancements to make them more attractive. The street version could maybe give you a bit of a random genetic shuffling, but the other stuff should be more predictable.
Well, if X-Change works by changing the sex chromosomes (an X becomes their new Y, and the Y becomes an X), certain sex-linked recessive traits may be affected, like colorblindness or hemophilia in men. A colorblind man may normal vision as a woman, and vice-versa. For women, there are dominant X-chromosome syndromes, like fragile X syndrome which is a form of mental disability, that may be suddenly expressed when they lose an X chromosome and become a man. In women, one X chromosome becomes inactive to prevent some severe genetic disorders from happening, but some genes on the inactive chromosome remain switched on and many of them, for reasons that are anyone's guess right now, mitigate or counteract versions of the genes on the active chromosome that would cause genetic disorders described above. If the changed X chromosome is the one doing that, she'll end up learning more about her genome than she ever wanted to learn. This could be even worse if X-Change does it randomly -- sure it might be okay the first time or even the first hundred times, but eventually she'll flip tails instead of heads, and some of those conditions are lethal that usually kill infants immediately after birth. I get the feeling that genetic counseling would be big business in the X-Change universe. On a side note, there is complete androgen insensitivity syndrome -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_androgen_insensitivity_syndrome -- which I just found out about, where someone may be born biologically male, but their body just doesn't respond to testosterone, and so the natural amount of estrogens in men takes over. So, funnily enough, some women who take an X-Change may not see any changes. Non-sex-linked (fancy science word is "autosomal") traits would remain, so yeah, I'd expect an opposite sex version of the person too. Skin color, eye color, hair color, etc. are all autosomal, so I wouldn't expect new hair colors or traits associated with racial groups to be suddenly expressed. Of course, nothing's stopping for from creating a new type of expression or syndrome that would be advantageous to whomever takes an X-Change, like maybe having super-resilient bones (Bruce Willis from Unbreakable, which is a real condition actually) or seeing in new colors (another real condition where some women report seeing ultraviolet) or being more stunningly attractive like Noah_Peal's idea. (In fact that does give me an idea for something.)
Yes, I think this is how I will continue to treat the changed appearance. Though I have no real scientific argument as to the reason. I will go with the fact that an X-Change user is always an extremely desirable idolised female version of their original form.
I'd imagine X-Change Plus to definitely be prescription only. I don't know about laws regarding gender reassignment in the US, but as far as I know here in the UK a person is required to live for a prolonged period as a member of the opposite sex and undergo extensive physical and mental evaluation before an operation will be performed to physically alter them. Of course as always there would be the black market with cooked up or stolen pills available. That creates a couple of interesting options. A whole street gang caught up in an exploding X-Change lab being transformed or even a police unit sent in to bust the lab and getting caught up when a shoot out triggers an explosion.
