There's a certain current of racial tension underlying a lot of interracial stories, which sometimes erupts unpleasantly into racist language and stereotypes - and I'm not normally one to throw shade on someone else's kink - but the title of this story is rather jarring (as is the username of the author), and it's off-putting to see it out there alongside the rest. Could we maybe consider a rule against racist language in story titles? At least the N-word?
Wow, this is a tough one for me. I find it strange for a very libertine site to put limitations on language, especially with regards to political speech. I understand, and totally agree, with the rules about underage sex, which is illegal in most (all?) Western countries. Personally, I wouldn't write such stories, or use such language, as you have linked too. However, what would be the standard for such language? Couldn't a feminist complain that 99.9% of stories on here are completely sexist and if not extremely misogynistic? Should the word "cunt" be banned? Personally, I would love to see all incest stories removed, but then what would be my defense if someone complained about my fetish of "whipped women" stories? Please note, I agree with you rejection of such language in public, but not at the force of law, especially on a porn site.
Yeah, it's not an easy one on me either - I'm not trying to censor anybody and I'm not really talking about content here. Everybody has their interests, and we're not all going to share those interests. Anyone that's interested in that is going to be able to find it with a search or clicking through, it's just...I dunno, that particular example is just jarring for me. Enough I felt the need to bring it up for discussion.

<sigh> I guess I am, at least for post titles. And I do realize the very touchy nature of even bringing it up. Censorship is often a slippery slope, and this is fundamentally a porn site where people can express themselves without normal reservations (aside from those already in place regarding violence & underage stuff).
Like Bladegod, I too agree there is sometimes a place for censorship, however, I would think it is critical to acknowledge that one is doing such a thing. The harder question is: Do racial slurs demand censorship. In my opinion, though they're offensive, the answer is no. However, I am open to be argued out of my position.

Whilst both sides to this argument have valid points, but I feel it should be left alone. For one this is a fairly slippery slope, and I say that as someone who dislikes rape, incest, furry, mind-control, and race-play. I mean I myself have used the word 'nigger' exactly once in a story, and whilst it might upset some people, it's intended to illustrate that character as a racist (plus it leads to some irony later on). I mean if we're going to ban it in titles, how long is it before we ban it in stories. I know that nigger is a highly offensive phrase but I sure as hell will use it whenever I feel it's appropriate (which so far, has been once out of the 445 chapters I've posted). If someone takes so much offense to something, I'd suggest to them that they have the ultimate safe-word, which is the 'x' in the corner of their browser. I also would say that it also helps highlight the 'shock-value' of the story. Say what you want about the title, but you certainly know what the story is about. I'd rather someone highlight the kind of shlock I might be subjected to (especially considering the offending story is in the 'Gay' category rather than the 'Interracial' category).
I've been up to this point pretty open to the use of racial slurs in stories on the site int eh name of free speech and creative liberty. This story was so offensive, that in my mind it breached the boundary of human decency. Using a racial slur in the context of a character or story seems fine to me, making a racial slur the sole focus of a story seems too far.
I contacted the author and apologized for his deleted story on behalf of CHYOA. I'd like to point out that there is currently no rule against racism and therefore no basis to delete a story for this reason.
I would argue that: A: yes, it is a slippery slope. B: this is why we have a climbing harness, ice axes, and crampons. (The mods and Friedman.) However, I don't think censoring "the N-word" will help much. What about "Nigga" as opposed to the unquestionable pejorative form? What about "ginger" also used as a pejorative by some and containing all the same letters, but also the name of a harmless Asian spice plant? I'm of two minds about the whole issue, but I also lean toward "no censorship* not required by law" *(Except rape and incest, ban the fuck out of that...)
Excessive butter causes heart disease, and white bread contributes to diabetes. While I disagree with banning them outright, restrictions can and should be implemented.
