I am not entirely certain on what it's requesting when it says "writer guidelines." Any help or examples of a writer guideline?

Usually nothing underage is the main one to remember

I mean when making a story, it asks for your writer guidelines, I don't really know what to place there.

Your personal guidelines for other contributors to your story. Content you do not want included even though they might be within the general site limits. It's your story so you get the final say on what is permissible in it. If you don't want anal, non con, same sex etc.

And also non sex related stuff, like only using characters who have already been introduced in the story, or if you want the story to remain in one area, or if you want to enforce British English spelling in your story, or have all girls be red-headed, or if your story involves hypnotism but you don't want any "magic", or... well, whatever rules you want to impose! It's your story and you're the boss. :)

I've never seen anyone be at all creative with the story guidelines, actually, but you could have fun with them. You could do silly stuff like making it a rule that each successive thread has to start with the next letter or the alphabet, or that each new thread has to mention a fruit that hasn't been mentioned before, things like that. Or I guess you could use them to structure the story - have a story that's kind of like the TV show 24, where each thread has to cover exactly one hour.

Like I said, I've never seen anyone do this, the guidlines usually just cover the story owners preferences, but there's no reason you couldn't do something like that - I'm kind of tempted to give the "24" one a go myself, now. :p

I copied some of my writers' guidelines into story threads to make them more visible.

    Here:

http://chyoa.com/story/lucy-s-portion/thread/notes-for-writers-plot-spoilers (pretty lavish, background plus ideas)

http://chyoa.com/story/office-morale/thread/story-guidelines-for-writers-0649abc6 (simpler, more about limits based on the story premise plus characters)

From the "add to" text in In From The Snow:

    Guidelines
The scene is a snowbound pass, so nobody is likely to be around other than our roadside rescuers, Keith and Virginia, and whoever they find and bring back to their cabin...perhaps a couple on a romantic vacation.

From the "add to" text in When the Cat's Away: (or compare the Character Who's Who thread)

    Guidelines
Looking for scenes that are fun and sexy for the characters, and enjoyable to read. Develop their personalities and quirks.

Each of the characters is more sexually driven and strongly tempted by more alternatives than they want to admit, and each has a sexual secret they want to keep from (most of) the others.

Hank and Veevee are in their late 40s, but still going strong. They're active swingers, and each has had some bisexual experience.
    *
Their college kids Gary (21) and Lillian (19) are wrapped up in sex as a new, wonderful experience and tend to have strong (mostly positive) feelings about it. Gary's girlfriend "Bernie" Bernstein is similar. Lillian's "angel of mercy" Alison is more experienced and even-keeled.

I don't much like non-consent themes, except explicitly as play (or played somewhat lightly, more toward embarrassment than threat, and with humor).
