Alright, so this post will probably be edited a lot in the future but this thread will serve as a place where I post some general information and also answer any questions you have at length (avoiding spoilers of course). If you want to throw around theories and have discussions amongst yourselves, that's cool too. As much as I'd love to, there will be a lot of stuff that I wont comment on. One thing I really enjoy is all of the feedback that I get in the comment sections of my chapters so I don't want this thread to replace that.

Current upload queue as of 1/25/21 (may change at any time if inspiration hits):

2/1 - New affection multiplier chapter
    Feb - Valentines update

If you enjoy my work, the best thing you can do is follow me on CHYOA. You'll get notifications whenever I publish something.

If you wish to support me further, I do have a Patreon. If you haven't donated to CHYOA.com yet and are financially in a good place, I highly encourage doing that before giving me anything. The website that we all love relies on donations to survive. My Patreon will have the occasional sneak peak of future content. Anything posted there will eventually make it's way here and be free to read. One thing I might do is write a few chapters from The "Anything" Promise and post them there in advance. Any money I make from donations will mostly go back into my work. One thing that I'm really interested in doing is commissioning some artwork for one of my stories.

I'm routinely blown away by all of the interest that you guys show in what I write. I've had so much fun over the last year and hope to keep this hobby going well into the future. :)

To continue the conversation about harems in the latest LIYSS chapter, I'd like to ask you guys a question. Keep in mind that I am in no way confirming or denying anything that will happen in any future storylines.

Given everything we know so far, is Jack capable of pulling off something like a harem? (If he had the Affection Multiplier this would be a definite yes :D)

Actually I think that Jack could Pull it off for the simple fact that he relies on the girls and their guidance. Simply adding his mom would be a huge step in making it work and Lilly, Mandy and I believe Ruth would all get along. The big issue would be Olivia. Even though she is hot to trot. Her marriage is in question. So yes to the harem.

That update plan is fantastic ThreeNipps, really good resource for us impatient fans. Thanks!

As to a harem, I don't think Jack could pull a true harem off, at least not as the typical CHYOA reader would define a harem where Jack has multiple women (more than two for sure) who are all devoted only to him. The world Jack exists in is heightened to be sure, but it is still largely a "real" place and Jack isn't going to have 10 women sleeping with him exclusively as he lounges around his Italian villa or drives his Ferrari around. Now, can Jack have a couple of women stay with him, aware of each other and still satisfied with their relationship? I say yes. And not JUST because I desperately want Jack to be with his mom and his sister long term.

For me, the concept of a main character in an erotica story having a harem comes down to 4 elements (I really half-assed this list so it may make zero sense).
    1) the setting, so is the story set in the modern, mostly 'real' world? If there is mind control or he's a duke in an medieval fantasy than yeah sure. If there is incest in the story, that complicates matters while also weirdly making the rules of "reality" less important because the incest angle already slightly reduces the expectation of reality for the reader (my own personal opinion, very open to debate)
    2) the character, so if the story is more or less grounded in something approaching reality, is the main character the sort of person who could have and keep multiple lovers? Does he seem to offer something to them that would transcend the societal difficulties?
    3) the specifics of the harem setup. Is it just an open relationship, and everyone is free to have other lovers? That makes it the most rational setup, and the easiest to believe, but most erotica fans don't want that and most don't consider it a 'harem' if the women have other (male) lovers. Is the MC keeping it a secret, or is he in a position of power where it's logical (if distasteful) that he's in this situation?
    4) does the story itself support the creation of this very unusual romantic setup through it's plot/craft/etc. By this I mean, does the story carefully set up the characters, their motivations, and the journey they all take. If a guy in a story starts out in a normal world and has a harem in chapter 10 I'm probably going to think it's a bit goofy. I might still enjoy it, but it probably doesn't seem terribly likely unless one of the other conditions I mentioned are present, like magic rings or it's an open relationship between all parties.

So for Jack in LiYSS, I say he does meet the criteria *I* have for it. Because #4 is the most important part to me, and LiYSS has done a beyond great job of showing us these characters slowly and honestly coming to love each other in unconventional ways. Jack has grown to be worth of the love of the women in his family. Granted, they are all lonely people but that's what makes it extra satisfying to see them finding each other. It's why we all love the story I bet, and it's taken Jack months (or at the very least many weeks) and tens of thousands of words to get to this point. So no, I don't think he's going to end up in a mansion with Olivia and Ruth and Mandy and everyone else, but I think he can definitely end up in a very loving, honest relationship with 2 or 3 of the women in his life that, while not technically 'realistic' at all in our world, is still very satisfying for a naughty story.

PS: GET CEDRIC OUT OF HIS BEDROOM THE BOY IS BLEEDING AND HURT COME ON MAN lol jk not really but kinda ;) ;)

I love this thread already. The upload schedule is brilliant idea, nice one.

When I posted #teamharem I was only semi serious, I never expected it to be so popular, I kind of feel I should support it now. So here goes....

Is Jack capable? Yes. The guy is banging his mom and sister (sort of), he's gone from zero to hero in no time. His mind is constantly on 'what next mode', he's always pushing the boundaries. He's already started to suggest to his mom that he and lily should sleep in with their mom, effectively he is already after a threesome. So yeah, this guy is more than capable.

Are the women around him willing?
Mom...yep, she'll do it. Lily...Ditto, she'll go for it as well. Once Jack has his mom and Lily I'd argue that constitutes a harem! However, from there Olivia will be an easy catch and then Mandy, swiftly followed by Ruth.

OK, so I'm only semi serious and realistically Jack is not going to do the above anytime soon, but the possibility is not out of the question and could be written into to the story in the not to distant future.

Hmmm, gotta go with #TeamHarem here... but... at the same time, I hate that word...

I always like the term "Panfidelous" but most people would probably think that one's pretty pretentious. (If you like words based off the fact that they are mixing root languages, you MAY be over-educated. But hell with it, if Polyamory is ok, then I'm swapping the cultures for the prefixes and suffixes...)

So, honestly, totally agree with the Panfidelous rules about erotica stories, but I think there might be a few more. (NO offense to ya wilparu, just wanted to run with it a little further. Keep in mind, I'm TOTALLY an english major/theater geek, so my opinion IS colored by that.)

    1. This is totally against most "Western" civilization norms, so as a result there needs to be justification why the main character/his paramours can ignore the rules. Specifically, it's against the rules regarding Property, so that's going to be an issue, especially if kids are involved. (Way too much ancient mythology has to do with multiple wives plotting against each other to elevate their status, etc... In addition you see the same type of bloody crap every time you turn on Jerry Springer. It can get REALLY ugly, so... definitely a look before you leap situation.)

    2. Isolation of scope. Strangely this seems to be something I've noticed about suspension of disbelief. If the Main character can have ANY woman/man he wants, any time, the feeling of uniqueness among the individual characters is lost, and the immersion goes down the toilet for me. In addition, if the main character lives in a palace with unlimited rooms that are never fully described but appear when needed... Much Like the Matrix... If it's TOO perfect... your brain will try to wake up from it. Nearly every story where it WORKS, has some element of isolation, be it physical, magical, or just social.

    3. Other Guys/lovers. Might as well address the elephant in the room. Most males don't want another dick in the story. As a result, there needs to be justification WHY the women only want the main character if he's the only one. Mind or Magical Control/Social Power is the usual and most popular (To judge from the top stories... hey, I ain't judging those who enjoy it, just pointing it out.) However, there are other methods to go with, but they require a LOT more set-up, thought... etc...etc... IMHO, The control in this scenario is more of a "Maguffin" to get to the aspect of power rather than as a exploration of the relationship. Nothing against it, once again. Sometimes you just want to fantasize about total control of somebody...

Essentially IMHO, whether or not another dick gets involved depends on whether you get off to comedy or tragedy. If you get off to comedy, there might be a lot of close calls, but NOTHING will happen. IF you get off to Tragedy, it happens, and the main character is humiliated/killed. (Straight up. Tragedy involves somebody dying. In erotica, it's more the "Death of the Relationship" but yep, death is always involved.) On the RARE occasion that you have more than one dick involved, there needs to be a reason why this happens. Often the other dick will be impotent in the way that counts. (Which of course is what led to tons of Hilarity in the Restoration Comedies where everybody THINKS the guy is impotent... you get the idea. Those comedies don't involve death, but do involve the old man/powerful losing power, which is sorta the same thing, so... tragic-comedy. If you want the FEEL of the heroes in those, I highly Recommend "The Stainless Steel Rat" by Harry Harrison. Appropriate this year too, since it is the year of the White Metal Rat.... Year of the Stainless Steel Rat!)

    4. Unusual relationships... Yeah, you can't really do this one with the standard boring, Hi... I live in suburbia with my mother, father, and 1.5 appropriately attractive siblings... I mean there have been some amazing attempts at it, and sometimes you can do some great stuff with the old setup, but you're using a hammer on a screw at that point. Nothing against Repertory, it pays the bills, but most folks won't remember it. You need something interesting, and your characters have to be interesting.

    5. Research. Yep, I said the DREAD word. Work is involved. A sex story is hard enough with two people involved, adding more to a single relationship makes it exponential in terms of work, NOT additive. There's a lot of thought, etc... at one point I wrote at least a novel worth of notes to write a simple threesome. Which nobody is ever going to read because it was working OUT stuff... adding good ideas, dumping bad ones, thinking, "No... she wouldn't react like that... this would be more her reaction..." So... Yeah, work. ANd the fact that you're dealing with characters that have their own lives and interests and you at least need to be able to FAKE that, or else you have a story with the entire character being obsessed with fashion, sex, and getting noticed. (Nothing against the Bimbo stories... but very much NOT my genre)

So, there's my additions/extrapolations. Keep in mind I am Pretentious as fuck, and take my writing far too seriously. At the same time, I take it completely unseriously and give it away for free, so you know... advice and ideas are worth exactly what you think they are.

Funny enough I’m dealing with this issue in my story Back Home Again. I’ve introduced another male and I’m dealing with conflict around that fact, it’s a very interesting subject, and not pretentious at all.

Gonna have to get around to reading it. (Sorry, gotta admit I haven't been reading nearly as much as I should recently. Been reading a lot of Robert Graves and doing flowcharts. The Dread Research/Work part of writing.)

But yeah, it does come down to the whole thing of what emotions you're trying to elicit. Some folks get off to having the tension be broken in the BAD way, and other is in the other way. Just depends on what you're used to in RL, IMHO. (Most people who have been through the wringer seem to like Comedy. Folks who've had it easy like Tragedy. Not a rule, just an observation, but you notice that the rich usually give their awards and money to tragedy and look down on humor as "Low Brow")

AAACK, sorry, sorry, didn't mean to bring my theater geek crap in here. Just fun to talk about. :)

Damn, for a minute I thought I could post a poll and got excited. But I guess it's just when you create a new thread you can... probably for the best. ;)

Instead, we'll do it plain text style. ThreeNipps has given us so many amazing characters, but romantically who is your one pick?

    Lily - LiYSS
    Alice (mom) - LiYSS
    Mandy - LiYSS
Luna - House on 13th St
Rose - Onesies For The Girls
    Susan (mom) - OFtG
Cassidy - The Girls Need Some Sun
Abigail - 13th St (no judgments, you weirdo)
    Mary (mom) - 13th St
    Olivia or Ruth - LiYSS
Ava - Frank Thompson branch, Affection Multiplier

Some options out there like Emilia from TGNS, and the unnamed (?) Mom from Mom's Valentine Promise don't make the cut due to lack of exposure in their current stories. I'd say my choice but since I'm clearly correct I don't want to influence anyone. ;)

It is actually terrifying how I did that list from memory except like 2 names. I just never remember Mary's name for some reason.

It’s an unconventional, maybe weird pick but I might go with Mary from 13th Street.

Also recency bias but Lily in the last LiYSS chapter was so unbelievably appealing over like 10 text messages I might pick her. ‘Maybe it's just time for him to come back to me‘ omg

Why do you make us choose wilparu, that's just pure evil, but there is only one girl better than Lily out there, and for me that's Ava from the AMA branch. I don't know how ThreeNipps did it but Ava is so well written in my mind, she was so worried her dad didn't love her anymore while he feared the same.

Upload queue updated. I'm excited about getting back into Spooky Scary Sisters. I'll try to update it at least every other week or so. Once October rolls around, I'll have a backlog of chapters prepared and do a 30 chapters in 30 days type thing. Also, there are several dead storylines in SSS that need to be continued. I'll reach out to the authors well in advance and see if they are willing to pick them back up. If not, I'll be looking for someone else to continue them. I want to give the original authors a significant heads up before doing that though.

Hmm, does this mean you will be creating chapters for SSS but holding on to them until October? Or that you'll have a new chapter published every other week or so and also create a store of chapters for a very ambitious one chapter a day for the whole month? I hope it's the latter, of course, but that's a very bold goal.

OP upload queue updated. Was unfortunately kind of busy this weekend and not able to get much done. How cool would it be to have the Affection Multiplier perk where you only need 4 hours of sleep a night? I'll likely have the next SSS chapter out tonight. I don't have work Monday so it should be a really productive day.

    -----

To the conversation about favorite characters romantically, here's a little background. Really the only female character that's somewhat based on a real person is Lily (name obviously changed). When I was in college I knew this girl that was just so amazing that I became completely enamored with her. Of course I never had the guts to say anything but the fantasies ran wild. Probably my biggest regret in life is not going for it. Even if she wasn't interested, she would have been nice about it.

Why or how these fantasies morphed into the story where she's Jack's sister? Not entirely sure. So basically, she'll always be my favorite because she's maybe my favorite person that I met in school.

"I don't have work Monday so it should be a really productive day."...Coming from ThreeNipps those words are like Mana from heaven.

"Probably my biggest regret in life is not going for it" - They say at the end of your life it is the things you haven't done, not the things you have done that are the biggest regrets. This is certainly true for me, although i am, belatedly, making efforts to sort that out.
