A few months back I started a story about a trodden-on game monster and the community responded better than I'd ever hoped (Link: https://chyoa.com/story/monster-2/cover ). My central storyline concentrated on a snarky "pea shooter" type monster as he leveled up and grew into a powerful enemy. I added a few other monster threads here and there but the community created 20 other major monster threads, each with their own interesting plots and dynamics. I haven't been writing a lot lately and I'm curious which monsters are the "favorites" and why. I apologize, there wasn't enough room for me to add all the available monsters to the poll. If you have a favorite that isn't there please add a comment. • On the other hand, if you're just visiting and haven't read our story, feel free to pick the one that sounds coolest.
I haven't had the time to read every single thread, but among the branches that I have read* I really enjoyed the Corrupted Dryad, the Critter (sheep), and the Harpy Runt. * Lust Nymph and Waitress not included since I started them and would be biased.
I have a suggestion on this poll, remove Nimrev as an option, since he is not a monster but a god, and move everything up one then put at the bottom "Other (Explanation in post)" As for which ones I would like to see expanded: It's hard to say, since the ones I would like to see added to I generally do myself, BUT, that said, I can say what kind of content I like, and that is wild, fun for all parties, consensual sex, which most stories have in rather short supply. My favorite thread so far therefore has to be the one with Val and King, that one was one of the few that got me so turned on I had to 'take the pressure off', and has been a great tale to read. My second favorite was the 'spreading the web' SL, because again, though there was a pseudo-rape in it the girl wanted it to happen, and she enjoyed it a lot. That really is the biggest turn on, when the woman is having a lot of fun too.
Also I have a request, more a question really, There are a lot of things in the stories that don't make it into the 'Some Background (For Writers)' thread, can I post a few sub threads to that one that expand on the 'missed' content?
I have some fun ideas for Val and King in my poison dragon thread. I was looking at the Weed Fiend's capture of that witch and thought "Hey, I bet there are other famous adventurers out there." I was thinking of having King go ahead and attack the town and end up in an honor duel with a woman who is well know and ending up beating her. She then submits to him willingly (Mostly) because of this and thanks to some scheming from Val, the three are made into an actual Guild by the system admin with King being recognized as a "Roaming Boss." They are basically using him as an experiment to see how creeps like him can grow on their own and how having him now being well know, will make players react. Also, King's bastard creator might make a showing.... (No, I'm not putting myself into the story. But what if the guy that coded King is also a player in his free time?)
I should have remembered you were the guy responsible for the PD string Fallen: it would take a writer of your caliber to come up with something like that.
Oh yeah, I forgot even as good and experienced of a writer as you are there are still people more experienced or better.
There is ALWAYS room for improvement in your writing style, the second you stop trying to improve on your skills is the second you start falling backwards down that mountain. That said, I would probably say that Fallen and I are about equal, on his good days he's better than I am but on my good days I am better than him, and it's largely a matter of opinion which of us is better when we both perform at our peek. (No offense FS, just calling it like I see it.)
Lol did you mean that in a good way or bad way? Yeah, I came up with the poison dragon. I ended up taking him in a different direction than I had originally intended, but I feel that it is working out for the best that way. I don't know if I'm better or not. I just have ideas and run with them. I try to focus on making an entertaining story and balance what I want with what I feel the readers will enjoy. Sometimes it isn't easy. I have certain tastes, but I try to put the readers first. No offense taken and as you said, it is a matter of opinion. I don't claim to be better than anyone. I'm always looking to improve and I feel my style has changed and grown a lot since the first story I started. I put a lot of thought into my work and try not to rush because rushing will lower the quality of my work.
In the best possible way: that story line was my favorite out of everything I read in the whole 'book'...
Ah ok. Thank you then lol. I really liked the poison dragon idea. This story is the only one I have added to that wasn't one of mine. I had originally planned on him using his armor melting ability to get women naked, but then the idea changed: What if he found a woman who was an outlaw and willing? It turned out to be a fun and interesting story to write and I was surprised that so many people seemed to like it.
I have been working on a lot of plans for it actually. I posted some of them earlier remember lol? I have some ideas I don't want to give away yet though. Lots of fun shenanigans on top of compelling story and plot. There will be laughs, love, companionship, adventure, excitement, and tears. Got at least two more women planned for the harem too.
I just found a user who hasn't been active in over a year, so do either of you want to adopt his story, it is called "rutting stallion" by vicetight
And it is only eight threads deep, so you can still add to it without any major issues about the canon
I have too many iron's in the fire with my own work as it is, so that would be a 'no' from me, I am just trying to keep up with my 'new policy' and make sure I update my own stories and those I am already involved with on time.
Sorry, I looked through it but I'm not sure I want to take on that story. I'm still going to look through the skeleton of game monster for you, but I can't promise anything. If I like how it looks, I might add to it tonight or tomorrow, but I'm not sure yet.
