He sees Midori Yokuboo approach. "Jian." She bows. "How are you settling in?"
'Cousin Midori,' Jian smiled and returned Midori's bow, 'I am settling in very well all things considered. Sadly I didn't have much time to get to know my father, but Chitsukiko helped me a lot to feel very welcome. She's taken a liking to Tai Chi and we share an interest in tea. We've spent a lot of time together over the past week.'

@asddas193 The assassin escapes, before Shintaro returns, eager to enjoy another round.

@Auraicide @majus @Sabine Wren Yunah, the survivor, is taken below decks into a cabin, where she soon recovers

@moonblack Midori and her new friend enjoy a great deal of sake over the next few days, learning more about one another

@Mazoku @unisol_gr44 Jian and Chitsukiko aren't disturbed much during the trip, giving both time to explore one another.

@Regin34 So far, little has happened of note. No more vague messages have been left for Inazuma, though she's spoken several more times to Lord Kasawara

After almost a week, word gets around that the ship will be making port tomorrow.

(Sorry for rushing, I just wanted to avoid a situation where everyone's stuck on the ship for ages with nothing of substance to do.)

Jurboei plans his visit to the capital, remembering old allies. It wouldn't do to be caught in old vendetta. He would follow his Shogun, for now - but he needed to meet the Emperor, and get the feel of the man and his worthiness. The old lord wondered, if the man would be a good ruler...

{sorry for the delay - yesterday, was busy day.}

After a while, Midori approaches, joining her on the railing. "Hey, Chitsu. I haven't really seen you during this trip."
"Been spending time with cousin Jian, auntie. Our lives have been so different, and we've taken our time getting to know each other after twenty years apart." In more ways than one, but doing her best not to let that show in her expression. Hard to imagine Lord Shintaro's indiscretion with the whore of a foreign land had given birth to a man like Jian. "He's a captivating figure. Honorable and wise beyond his years. A strong addition to the Yakuboo clan."

"Heh. Of course, I'm a woman of my word." Kyouka replied to Shintaro before leaving. As she walked around, letting the sailors and soldiers oogle her curvy body. The redhead flashes them a vicious grin, after all if they were all from the same city. They should know who exactly she was. When she entered the bathroom, she lets out a relieved sigh. "Mm. A bath." Was all she said to the geisha as she slides the door closed.
Awkwardly, the woman gestures at the water, gathering soap and rubbing Kyouka's back as she enters the bath.

"I would be honored."
Lady Otsu claps her hands, and a young woman enters the room, a mainlander, in a violet dress in the style of the Eternal Empire.

The woman bows to the dragon hybrid, as Lady Otsu says "This is Xia. She'll see to it that you're well satisfied."

"Yes, she speaks rather highly of you." There's a hint of something on her face, but she says nothing. "I'm glad to see that you're settling in well, Jian." As she speaks, Shintaro walks across the deck towards Jian. Midori bows. "I'll leave you to it."

Midori departs, and Shintaro walks to the railing, wiping a sweaty brow with a rag. "Hey, kid. How are you?"

"That's, um, thank you." He stands in awkward silence, before leaning in to kiss Koyumi.
Laughing a bit at his attempt to make a move while still somewhat indecisive, she took some initiative of grabbing him by the collar of his kimono to pull him closer. Her assertion was countered with giving a gentle kiss against his lips, the softness of hers only an indication of how she might taste if she took it farther. "Careful. If we started now, I don't think I'd ever let you leave. I think we should be arriving soon, so we should probably not be keeping people waiting for too long."

'She has?' Jian smiled, 'I'm glad, I've grown quite fond of her as well, you've done very well being her guardian. See you another time, Midori.' He bowed his cousin and then turned to his father.

'I'm doing rather well, thank you for inquiring, father,' Jian said, 'May call you that?' He got a smirk on his face, 'I hear you've been kept very busy protecting our lives from the Black Widow. She seems like a... rather wild woman to say the least.'

As the old man thinks, his vision begins to blur, and he stumbles. Thumping against the ground, he looks up and realises he's not alone. A woman stands in the room, looking down at him. As his vision clears, he realises that he's looking into the face of his mother, looking just as she did before she died. A flash of memory comes to his mind, as he recalls the way she'd evaded and slaughtered so many men, the day he'd crushed the Rai Clan.

"Hello, Juro." She smiles at him through her veil.

"He speaks similarly of you." The woman is silent for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to phrase her sentence. "Friendships like yours are good, and healthy. I just hope that you'll be careful?"

"We still have tomorrow, and well... I'm not sure I ever want to leave." He cringes at his own cheesy line, before moving to kiss Koyumi again.
