James patted down the vampire's pockets, taking any dangerous items or weapons from her. He looked unconvinced, rubbing his aching neck, 'And if we let you go you're just going to go back to feeding on innocent people?'
Nadya's shot lands true, rifle round sailing through the air and crashing into her target's arm before it detonates. Through the rifle scope. the sniper watches as the vampire falls to the ground, desperately trying to roll away the fire that has set his coat ablaze, with his right arm blown clean off and a massive gaping hole in his chest, through which his cold, dead organs begin to fall out. The bodyguards, clearly pros, surround the vampire, and Nadya loses sight of him behind them as they try to put out the fire and drag him to cover, while keeping a watch on the horizon for the shooter.
Can we really promise that? Melissa thought to herself, "Uhm... as long as you stop hurting other people. I think that can be arranged... right?" She said as she looks at Zach, since he was a templar like Alicia. Who knows how he'll react.
James finds a taser and pepper spray strapped to her belt. "Yes, I will. C'mon." She scoffs. "You just experienced how good it feels. Is a bit of blood that much to ask for in return for a feeling like that? I don't drain people dry, not unless they were the kind of person I'd be killing anyway." Zach grunts angrily, hand on his sword hilt. "She's a soulless beast. Let's take her head off, and be done with it. After all, she was trying to kill one of your own." The woman scoffs and gives Zach a dirty look. "Fuck you. That little Russian bitch isn't an angel. She killed cops before she joined up with you, this was just payback."
James grunted, 'Oh, you only take a little and you're really nice otherwise? That's what I'd say if I wanted to get out of this. Let me guess, it was all your vampire buddies' fault for dragging you into this?' The young man gave Zach a glare, 'She surrendered to us, I'm not killing our captives, even if she was trying to kill me a moment ago.' He turned back to the vampire, 'Hmm, this is complicated. How can we know you are telling the truth? What's this about Nadya killing cops and you taking revenge? If that's true you're not a real cop, you're a vampire, why'd you care if someone targets police?'
"Uuugh." Melissa whimpered in a low tone, unsure of how to deal with the situation. Especially as it was related to a "life," even if it belonged to an undead. She believed everyone can be good, much like how some humans are evil. For now she remains silent, but she'll be ready to cast wind magic if the situation escalated.
The vampire rolls her eyes. "Like I said, you know what it feels like to get fed on. It isn't hard to find people willing to let you take a bite. And no, no one dragged me into this. I was part of the plan willingly." Zach glares back at James. "She's a monster, the Geneva Convention doesn't apply to her." The vampiress shoots Zach another dirty look, and he pulls his sword slightly out of its scabbard, at which point the women returns her gaze to James. "I was a real cop. We all were, before we were turned by some weird British guy. Nadya was working as a hitwoman for her father, a Russian crime boss. She killed a few cops who refused to take her dad's dirty money, sniped them from a block away. Those cops were friends of ours." Zach sees Melissa's expression, and responds with a troubled one of his own, as though he's trying to think of the words to explain his views to her, but is having trouble.
Melissa gives Zach a soft smile, of course his views would be different. Being raised in a holy place, cleaning "evil" might have been deeply ingrained with him. But, hearing how the female ex-cop had been turned into a vampire, probably not of her own volition. Melissa was shocked, "W-wait, then will James also turn?" She asked, since the young man had gotten bit by her.
'Maybe she is a monster but she's not a mindless beast. I'm not murdering someone who put herself at our mercy willingly,' James snapped at Zach's zealotry. 'I can imagine there would be,' James stroked his neck, remembering the feeling, a slightly embarrassed look on his face. He sighed, 'This is getting complicated. A mob assassin? That's... quite unlikely at her age, but I don't know her really. But now she's part of our organisation and you're... undead.' 'Turn?' James looked unsure, 'I can't be certain but I'm not sure it works like that. Probably on the old British vampire has the power to turn people.' James went up close to the vampire, trying to gauge if she was telling the truth, 'Why safe your skin now, anyway? You sound quite close to the others. They probably won't surrender like you did.'
The woman chuckles as they talk about whether James is infected, and Zach explains. "You don't have to worry about that. To be turned, you not only have to be fed on by a vampire, but have to drink their blood as well. It's a lengthy process. You didn't drink from her, right?" He looks to Zach, as the Vampire goes to answer the next question. She looks unsure. "I-uh, I..." Zach interrupts her with a sneer. "She's a beast now. Her sense of self preservation overrides everything, honour, loyalty, none of it matters as much as staying alive." The cop gives the young man a look of pure hate, before her expression softens. "My friends matter to me more than anything... I just... I don't want to die."
'No, I didn't,' James shook his head, and then looked to the vampire again. He looked sympathetic, 'I'm not going to kill you, but you and your friends are trying to kill one of us. There wouldn't be a way for your group to abandon this vendetta, would there?'
"Phew." Melissa let out a relieved sigh, after learning James was safe. Hehe... I guess basing my knowledge on old movies was a mistake. But still... what did they mean "how it felt when you get fed on?" Thinking that, Melissa gulped as her lust addled mind began to wonder on how it would actually feel.
"Only one way I can think of... If we got Nadya's father in exchange. Nadya just pulled the trigger, but we're more interested in the man who gave the order." She looks up at James. "What do you think?" "You okay, Miss?" Zach approaches Melissa, a concerned look on his face. "You seemed a little unwell."
Erika listens to the whole conversation between the vampire police woman and her teammates quietly. "I'm guessin' our place doesn't have a Monster Witness Relocation Program? Y'know, something like 'if you turn state's evidence we'll put you up with a new life somewhere else and mail you packets of blood so you don't have to drink anyone anymore."
Zach looks at the fighter. "I'm no expert on your organisation, but I don't think so." He shakes his head.
Melissa was lost in thought, would being fed on be as pleasurable as that succubus' touch? Recalling what happened just a few minutes ago, the sexy milf shuddered in delight. Until Zach's concern snapped her out of it, "O-oh. Yes, sorry, just a little... tired." She replied with a nervous giggle, as the young man could surely spot her flushed cheeks. "Also, just Melissa is fine." She added, giving him a warm smile as she hoped he'd drop the subject.
'What do I think?' James sighed, 'How the hell would we bring you a mob boss in exchange? Fighting Human criminals isn't exactly what we are supposed to do.' 'I'd have to check-in with the director,' James said, not sure if such a thing existed. He go out his phone, calling the boss. He explained the situation, and what it would take to get the vampires to abandon hunting Nadya, though he was unsure if letting them go freely was the wisest choice. He asked if they should bring the vampiress in for questioning.
"Oh, if you're, um, sure... Melissa." He smiles, blushing. The director listens to him over the phone. "I'll trust your judgement on the matter. Vampires aren't technically a part of our remit, as most don't make themselves a nuisance like demons do. We've had Nadya's father under surveillance, to ensure that he doesn't find out that his daughter is alive. If you want, we can send you the information to trade with the vampires. Kill the vampires, bring in your prisoner, or make a deal with them. It's up to you, James." Zach overhears some of the conversation, and looks troubled at the idea of sparing vampires.
Though Melissa couldn't hear James' conversation on the phone, looking at Zach's expression was enough to get the gist of it. She approaches the young templar, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm sure everything will turn out okay. Just because you're no longer human, doesn't mean you're automatically evil after all."
'So that whole mob story is true?' James wondered, 'Send me the information about him.' Once he had everything, James turned to the others, 'I'd say we make a deal with them. I hold no sympathy for Nadya's father, he sounds like scum. If they leave Nadya alone, that's our mission completed.'
