"Yeah, that sounds reasonable. But... if they attack an innocent person. We may need to return." Melissa replied in a concerned tone.
'The director said vampires aren't generally a problem for us,' James shrugged, 'And they were police before so... they might be more reasonable than other vampires.'
"I see. Then that should settle it... right?" Melissa looks at Zach, then the vamp. "Unless she goes on a killing spree, we'll just leave her alone."
Zach sighs. "I don't like it, but if you think it's a good idea..." His expression softens as he looks at Melissa. "Alright." James' phone flashes, as he's sent a dossier on Nadya's father, a vicious looking gangster named Artyom. The officer looks at him. "Alright, so we have a deal, then? Will you take off the cuffs?"
"I'm not sure. But if the police are investigating the area, the lich will likely be forced to try relocating. They might not be worried about mortal police, but they're keeping away from everything to not risk exposure. The sudden change in their plans might make it easier. I assume they have some sort of escape route planned in the lairs for this situation. Tunnels, most likely." It was only speculation on Alicia's part, but she didn't look too worried just yet. "What we know is it's avoiding facing exposure directly. Dangerous or not, it knows the problems of revealing itself and getting hunters on it's case. So what we have to work with, is we know it's afraid of too much attention. It probably didn't expect people to get wise to it's activities and is now trying to scramble, so odds are, it will be forced to leave a lot of it's gear behind. The director probably has some contacts with the police here, if I remember. They could get someone to borrow what they seize from the evidence locker. I'm sure the police here are well meaning, but I doubt they know what to do with any of the things they find."
@asddas193 @Daylan 'If everyone is in agreement,' James said as he looked to the others. He stepped up to the vampire, undid her handcuffs and handed them back to her. 'Alright, I have the information you want right here. Give me your word you and your group will leave Nadya alone,' James said, folding his arms while holding his phone, 'Also, I don't cause any major trouble or we'll have to come to get you again.' James extended his hand to her, 'Do we have a deal, vamp? I'm James, by the way.'
Erika shrugs, not feeling like she has a stake in this issue (though she could probably improvise one to drive into the vampire's heart if it came to that).
“Hi. Imalia, right? Nice to meet you, my name is Seres.” The ex-cosplayer greeted the woman. “And yeah, I am not Alicia, sorry. Though I did meet her briefly before.” She made a brief pause before changing the subject. “Anyway, looks like we'll be working together, so I figure we should get to know each other a little. Learning about each other's abilities seems like a good place to start...”
The cop nods. "Like I said, I don't care about the daughter, if we get the father." She rubs her wrist, nodding as James introduces himself. "Renee." The woman moves to the other side of the room to find her phone, as Zach approaches Melissa and Erika, talking quietly. @asddas193 "Look, I know that you want to be a man of your word, but this is a creature of darkness we're dealing with." He pauses. "You can all do what you want, but if you were to make a deal with these things, and then wipe them out, God wouldn't consider it a sin on your part."
Imalia nods. "Nice to meet you. Sorry, I spent a little time with Alicia before, and I just assumed because of the nun habit." She shrugs. "Sure, sounds reasonable. Abilities... Let me think. Well, I'm a mage, as the director probably told you. Apart from the mindwipe spell, I can use summoning magic, to conjure up familiars, and illusions as well. Nothing too fancy, but enough to pack a bit off a punch. I'm not too bad in hand to hand combat, either, though it's more of a hobby for me." She gestures to the punching bag. "That the kind of thing you're looking for?"
"That line of thinking..." Melissa gasped, "No, we'll honor our deal. As long as they honor theirs. If we just kill everyone that isn't one of us. Then... that won't make us any different from monsters."
"Anything they might know could be useful. It might've been easier if we don't have to worry about them doing any raids before we've had time to find and scout out their lair." Numerous animals had escape tunnels that surface elsewhere, allowing the prey to escape should a predator come looking. Hopefully, it hadn't come to that point yet. "But if the police have found something then the officer is likely our best bet in finding out what."
Alice nods, returning to her car to get her phone. She calls the number given by the director, and soon enough a cop car rolls up to the edge of the beach. The driver, a twentysomething dark skinned man with short hair, examines the three bikini clad women, before approaching. "You three from the Bureau?"
"Yes, that's us. We're here because some of your co-workers stumbled onto something they shouldn't have, as you might have heard. You're probably aware that whatever evidence and forensic tests they run, won't do them much good. It would be helpful to everyone to make sure evidence were to end up being handled by those who know what to do with it."
'Alright,' James followed Renee and gave her the information once she found her phone. 'That should be it. You keep your end of the bargain and I hope we won't regret this,' James said, 'Goodbye, Renee.' @asddas193 @Daylan James returned to his group, 'Time for us to go back to the bureau, I'd say.' The young man started to walk to the exit.
"Thank you. Now we'll just have to out our trust in them, that they'll hold their end of the bargain." Melissa replied with a smile. "Yeah, I guess we should, or do we ensure Nadya's safety first?" Melissa pondered out loud, unsure of what their new objectives would be.
@Mazoku The cop nods. "Yeah, I've been making sure that the evidence doesn't indicate anything...unnatural...for a few years now." He lights a cigarette and puts it in his mouth. "That said, there isn't much in the way of evidence left behind by the lich. The bodies dissolve when the zombies are killed. That said, there was one thing he left behind at one of the crime scenes, some sort of medallion."
