(I don't really follow where everything is here) Taylor was surprised for many reasons to see herself on the video. Especially since it wasn't really possible for it to be her. "So, obviously that's...I don't know. A double or someone who looks enough like me, but it can't actually be."
@Auraicide {Joys of modern technology } @Tjf As Jack looks at the picture, he notices something not right - but as much as he tries to look, he finds nothing. He resumes play, and only then he caught something. An unnaturalness in his video mother's movement. Something, like a ghost-like effect when her cloak touched the table.
Jack points the glitch out to his mother. "There, look. See how your clothes go ethereal there? Either this footage has been doctored, and they've added you in post, or they projected some sort of holographic version of you at the physical location."
Looking more intently at what he pointed out, she was glad for the second pair of eyes. "Good work. That's at least something to work with. But a hologram can't kill people, so odds are it's doctored." She watched the video to see what the lookalike would actually do or even kill anybody. If it shot anyone, that meant the footage was altered to try and look convincing. If not, that meant it's most likely a hologram which would be another lead. She watched intently, though she gave Jack a smile. "I didn't even notice that. I taught you well."
Jack scratches his head, embarrassed but proud. "Good genes." He returns his mother's smile, as he continues to watch the footage.
@Auraicide @Tjf As they continue watching the video: In it, Nathan Byrne with uncharastically happy smile chats with Taylor. At one moment, the two kiss - what Jack noticed earlier, was now more visible. Around the places, they touched there were distortions - around lips, places where bodies touched... As they disengaged, they saw happy Nathan saying something, then turn around and start leaving - only for Taylor to take out the gun and shoot him in the head. As he fell, the body disappearing from camera's angle, she walked up to him and put three more bullets in his head. She then knelt over the body - after a moment she got up, but without the weapon. She then left the room.
Jack's fist tightens in anger at the fact that people are trying to frame his mother, and slander her by suggesting she'd kiss a criminal, but he collects himself. @Auraicide "See there, when the fake you kisses him? It's all distorted. Before, it was subtle, but this is just amateur."
Taylor laughed a bit. "I can say with certainty that I'd never fuck Nathan Byrne. But that means it's most likely more than one person who edited this. Still, it's not totally worthless. They didn't change all of it. From the parts that are still static and fluid without any clipping what we can tell is that someone did meet up with Nathan and make out with him...god knows why, and then shot him and it's good to be open to all kinds of things, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that means the killer is a woman. Not much for proper evidence, but that's something to go off. And we know that means aside from the killer, we're looking for at least two accomplices. I assume one of them has to have been someone with access to my gun. It's not a thing you can just casually borrow. I should be the only one with the combination to my storage locker." Taylor still looked over the footage for a bit longer for anything else that she could take away from it that would be useful.
They continued watching, but found nothing else of interest - the next movement, was Taylor entering the room again, and after the, a number of fast reaction officers entering.
@Auraicide "Well... I think that's it for the recording. I'm gonna head off to the hospital. Love you, mom." He kisses Taylor's cheek, before moving out to go get a new rig and head to the hospital. On the way, he looks up the politician's wife. Before he leaves, though, Jack goes to his bedroom and takes his handgun.
She pulls him in for a quick hug, not minding how close she was before he left. "Just stay safe. Don't do anything dangerous. " The moment was tender, but dissolved quickly as he left and it was back to work with her now ready to go and investigate this girl's place. @majus
Jack grabbed his gun and hid it in his jacket. He left the room - now he only needed to decide, where to buy new netrig. Which one it would be - third or fourth one he would be getting his hands on today?
Taylor left the apartment and walked to her car. She entered and sat down, but as she was about to start the engine she received a notification. The woman, blue-haired punk who attacked her son and sister, and whom she investigated, was found dead. Someone drove a car over her.
It wouldn't be unreasonable for the police to show up to investigate the home of the victim and Taylor made a point to make sure she'd arrive faster with head start to search through the girl's place for traces to her connections before the plants in the department could get rid of there to remove them.
Jack walked to the ground level and started his motorcycle. He started it and looked just in time to see his mother enter her car. With a short nod, both started traveling through the city The city lights moved as they drove, the lights flashing in the night, people going their ways. A strange calm cam over them - this time, they were the ones hunting. Taylor stopped the car in front of the apartment that belonged to the blue haired punk. According to her data, it was room 536. She looked around, the area was mostly abandoned at this hour - only a homeless guy searching through the trash was present. Jack stopped in the market - as he came over, he saw Olivia, just closing her shop.
Having the apartment number, she made her way down first to talk to the building manager, flash her badge and get him to open up the place so she could check it out.
Jack moves over to her. "Hey, Liv. It wouldn't be possible for me to get another rig from you before you close, would it?"
Taylor walked to the service room and knocked. She waited but no one answered. She knocked again, but again, she was met with silence. She then looked to the information board, and found that the man was not working today.
Olivia turned to him, then raised an eyebrow. "Already done with a previous one? You might be becoming my favourite client." The blond cocked her head. "Yeah, I might have something... What do you offer in return?"
