Heading past the walls, Ard hardly needs to be given directions to the swampland, as the two regions stand separated by a river, both sides as different as night and day. On Ard's side is a lush plain of grass and various crop fields, and on the other is a barren mire of mud and muck, the trees cold and dead. Further inland, the river reaches up to crisscross the terrain, until the swamp becomes what looks like a small sea, with an archipelago of islands. In the far distance, the elf spots a tiny village on the coast of one of the islands.
