@unisol_gr44 @moonblack @asddas193 @Regin34 Looking around for somewhere to get out of the hot sun, the group sees a man made structure, a gateway built directly in to a rocky cliff face, and extending within the mountain. There's a fairly steep trail of dirt to get up to the gateway, but it looks safe. Apart from that, the valley is filled with many caves heading into the mountains, all of them seeming like natural rock formations.
'If we are lucky, that ruin might have a cistern,' Ard pointed at the gateway in the mountain. He started to walk towards the trail, thinking that was their best option.
Trista sigh and follow the elf to ruin, look at the area for some fresh marks of human activity here. "Well, that will be usefull, but it is water it is hight risk it already taken by someone. Humans or some wild animals. Be carefull."
Varrin and Isabella followed the rest of the group toward the man-made structure, the young man constantly looking around and above them in search of any potential danger.
Mirellia follows the group, thinking that staying together was better than travelling an unknown valley alone. For now she sheathes her dagger, but remains vigilant in case any hostiles showed up.
'It looks abandoned to me, but you are right, there might be some creatures taking shelter there like with the caves around us,' Ard spoke to the female witcher, as he continued up the trail towards the structure.
Inside the farmhouse, he sees the beautiful woman sitting in a chair, her elegant dress totally at odds with the surroundings. "Lutz." Her voice purrs. "How did your mission go?" Beside her, the troll scratches its head.
As the group ascends the path towards the gateway, they see a strange sight. Water drips down from the top, mixing in with the dirt and sand. As they ascend further, they see ice, and even a little bit of snow, rapidly melting in the hot desert sun. Going further, they reach the entrance, and see ice all across the stonework and the ground in front of it, slick with water as it melts. Inside, though it's dark, they can see stone walls, indicating that it's not just the entrance that's man made, but the interior as well.
Recognizing his liege he bows. "I have extracted the information from the inquisitor and dispatched her." He said handing over the list. "The organisation that was aiding me, was intent on getting all the information I was supposed to pass to you. The man sent to retrive the information from me, did not survive. I left the city in haste." Lutz reported
'There is magic gone awry in this place,' Ard looked around at the iced over walls. He drew his sword and entered the passage.
Varrin followed the elf's example and drew his own sword, then slowly and cautiously entered the unknown building.
Hearing the elf's words, and seeing the nobleman prepare his blade as well. Mirellia readies her dagger, she remains silent as she entered behind them.
Trista take her silver sword and follow rest of the group, something tells her it will be magic treat to fight.
Heading further inside, they see an elaborate tomb of elven design. More ice is present on the walls, more solid due to not being in the sun. Isabella uses an illumination spell as they get beyond the light from the entrance, and after a few empty rooms, they see something illuminated by Isabella's magic on the ground. They see black metal, and moving forwards, identify it as the armour of two members of the Wild Hunt, lying dead on the floor, still in their armour.
Ard approached the corpses, kneeling down to one of them and removing his helmet, to see if he recognised the dead Aen Elle or how recent their death was.
Trista look in the dark for coming treat. Whatever kill two wild hunt riders, it must be strong enough to be dangerous for their group. She take a look at bodies to find some marks how they die.
The two men have been killed recently. He doesn't know the two riders personally, but he recognises one: A loyalist, who when push comes to shove would probably take the side of the king over the side of Eredin.
Examining the two bodies, Trista determines that they both were likely immobilised with ice magic, before a blade slowly cut their throats, underneath their helmets. This has the hallmarks of an execution or assassination.
Seeing the two dead bodies, Mirellia cautiously looks around, just in case whoever killed them decided to stay. "Friends of yours, I assume?" She asked the elf, "Any ideas on what happened to them?" She added, trying her best to not look at Gustav in such a dire situation.
"Everybody, be carefull. These guys here was killed by magic of ice and cut throat, so we must expected the same. Eyes around head and stay together." She said and get up.
