Yannika composed herself and stood up straight. "Thank you for the kind offer Captain, but I think I'd like to talk to them." She informed him before she moved over to the communication station she was directed to.

The officer posted there opened the channel and Yannika opened, "This is Yannika of..." she instinctively wanted to introduce herself as a sister of the church, but second guessed herself the moment she started speaking. She reasoned that if these Heretics were hostile to the church, but loyal to the emperor another tactic may be in order "... House Wulfkin, member of the Imperial Council to the Emperor Carius I. I have been dispatched by His Majesty to assess the situation of Lave V. By Imperial Edict you are hereby ordered to escort safely to Lave V."

Vizelle, Halipha and Alexandros, who meets them on the way out, are escorted to meet the emperor in a small private chamber, gold plated imperial guard men following closely when they discover the twins' identities.

Carius stands looking out at the city from his balcony, before he turns. "I-uh, see that you completed the mission?"

"Very well, my lady." A gruff female voice sounds. "If you wish, you may come across to our ship, so we can escort you personally. Our vessel is better armed than yours, after all." It seems that that was meant as much as a show of force than a statement of fact.

"Of course, I have persuaded them to use their talents for the empire's gain. But I understand your concern. I don't plan on letting them leave my sight, until they prove themselves." Yannika debated with herself how best to respond to the woman's offer. If they were truly loyal subjects of the empire she doubted boarding their ship, even in her priestess robes, would result in violence. She might even be able to open a dialogue with the command staff and gain more information. There was even an outside chance she could return the wayward souls aboard to the path of the gods.

On the other hand it could be a trap, and this ship was ordered to deliver her to the planet. She also didn't want to insult the ship's captain or crew by disembarking before they had fulfilled their duty. She cast a look towards to captain to see if she could tell from his face how he felt about the situation.

Looking at the captain, she sees that he's not particularly thrilled at the idea of letting his charge go into potentially hostile hands.

Having seen the look on the captain's face, Yannika returned to her conversation "On behalf of the Emperor I thank you for your generous offer, but this ship and her crew have been assigned to deliver me to Lave V. Out of respect for their mission I must decline."

She excused herself then and made her way to the captain. "Well," she said and let out a breath before she smiled at him "that was a brief fright, but thankfully the gods didn't desire to see a battle. Is there anything else I may be able to help you with Captain?"

Heading back out into the city, she finds a message from Jeryn at a telepathic relay, a piece of ancient technology that psionics can use to store and transmit telepathic messages. The technology that makes them work is completely unknown to modern day humans, making them secure. Tapping into the relay, she hears We found the slaver. Had to kill a couple of his men, but we found him. He's interested to hear what you wanted, so he said you should meet him at his club, the Emerald Oedipus. Jeryn left her his visual memories of getting to the club, so she knows how to get there as if she herself had already been.
