Elena smiled. "That's where you come in, admiral." She said with a smile. "I think, that for the time of the crusade, I have a privilege, to promote you - in the structures of our fleet, for this specific crusade - to a rank of full admiral." She said.
Thrax's eyebrows raise. "That's quite an honor, ma'am." He nods his head. "I won't let you down. If he acts like a buffoon, I'l tell him where to stick it." He shakes his head. "Sorry for the crudeness."
“Indeed.” Eanne smiled as she in turn gave her contact details to Sitra. “Alright, with that out of the way... I'm curious, what were you reading when you and Amara arrived? Of course, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, or simply can't.” She was a little curious, but not enough to insist if her new friend did not want to share.
"No problem admiral, I heard worse." Elena nodded. "What about the admiral of XVth fleet?" She asked, "Will there be any problems with that person?"
"Oh, that?" She smiles. "It was an artifact, a scroll from an extinct alien culture. I've been trying to decipher it, since I think it might lead me to a store of the dead species' art."
“Oh? That sounds interesting. If you want I could try to help you decipher it after dinner. Though I must warn you, I am not sure if I would be of any real help – deciphering alien texts is not something I have tried before. Still, I will do my best to help.” Eanne offered.
"Haah. Good, everything is fine on my end. However, I doubt that's all they had. Keep a close eye on that tunnel." Vizelle sighed as she once again frees herself, she uses her psionics to scan the tunnel. Hoping to see how big it was, and how many more spiders were inside.
"I've not worked with him, but I asked some people when I learnt I'd be working with him." Thrax shakes his head. "By all accounts he's not really spectacular in his skills, but my contacts said that he hasn't got any feuds with anyone else in the Admiralty, which suggests that he's easy to work with."
"You'd be more than welcome to look at them with me." Sitra seems pleased by the suggestion. "That sounds like fun."
Elena nodded, satisfied with an answer. "The local government will bow to one of the Imperial advisors, so there should be no problems there." She paused. "Anything else we need to discuss?" She asked curiously.
“I look forward to it. It will be nice to try something new and different from the usual stuff.” And to spend some more time with you. Eanne reached for her wine and finally took a small sip.
The marines nod, raising their weapons and preparing to fire if they see any more hostiles in the tunnel. Spoiler: Psionic Detection Roll D100: 84+15 (Order of Sorcerers)=99 (Crit) Sending her power forth, Vizelle sends her psionic energy bouncing against the walls, almost like a radar or sonar signal, and in doing so charts out the tunnel. This current tunnel heads down into a larger rocky chamber, with an indeterminate but large number of the spider xenos inside, and other tunnels leading out from it. Effectively, it's a nest. As she prepares to stop looking, however, she notes the presence of psionics. Where she could only sense a residual presence in the warehouse, she now senses something greater. It feels like the sphere she has in her pocket, only significantly larger and probably more powerful.
"And for my part, it'll be good to have some company while I'm working." Sitra smiles, and takes a drink as well. "I have to say, I know you didn't come here for me, but I'm glad you came here nonetheless."
Elena hummed. "Well, then admiral, unless you want to stay for the night, it's time for us to take rest." Elena said, gently indicating the end of the conversation. They both would need a sleep.
@unisol_gr44 "Hoh? And how did they get there?" Vizelle pondered, opening up a telepathic link to Xavier. "Admiral, it seems the spiders have made a next. I'll send you locations of the other exits." She said as she shares the location of other possible entrance and exits.
"Stay the night, ma'am?" Thrax's eyes widen. "Err, I should be getting back to my duties. Good night." Thrax leaves.
“So am I.” Eanne returned the smile. “Meeting you has been an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Coming here would have been worth it just for that.” She meant every word – she quite enjoyed Sitra's company. And she wasn't even aiming to seduce her!
Elena shook her head with good humour. She checked if the admiral had a wife - if not, she would have one of her nuns become his mistress or wife. Loyal men had to be rewarded. With that out of the way, Elena went to sleep. The next day, she was on the bridge, awaiting the moment of their aravail.
