I can't help but wonder if she was forced to... resign, so that Julqe could be hired in her place...” The noblewoman paused briefly. “In any case contacting Madame Dubernay seems like the obvious course of action. Bec, arrange a secure connection so she can speak freely, without worrying that the things she tells me might be heard by other people. Once I have spoken with her I will decide what to do next.”
With nothing amiss, Vizelle focuses on her current target. She raises her hand, ball of psionic energy focused within. "Like hell I am!" She yelled, though makes a panicked expression as if she just realized she wouldn't be able to disobey him. "Khh. I guess you're a lost cause, m-mas-bastard!" She growled, making a show of almost calling him master. Vizelle then slowly fires off her spell, though makes it showy enough to give him time to give her an order.
The two mutter agreement with the hypothesis. Getting a secure connection with Dubernay takes a short while, given the woman's popularity. When the connection is established, the hologram does nothing to obscure the woman's curves, or the mysterious hint of intelligence in her eyes. "Councilor, you honor me." She smiles and bows. "How can I help you this morning?"
"Enough." He smirks. "You will never harm your master, understood?" He walks over to her. "Now why don't you get on your hands and knees for me?" "What the hell makes you think-" Vizelle growled, about to fire her spell. Until her body "moves by itself," the psionic energy in her hand fizzles into nothing, as she slowly gets on her knees. Lastly, she notices a shape falling from the ceiling in front of her. The woman in front of Vizelle moves forward, quickly raising her blade to deliver a strike, face emotionless, and her mind seeming strangely...blank. In the split second she has to take action, Vizelle realises that she failed to notice the woman during her psionic scan earlier, but she is so devoid of emotion that her signature is almost unnoticeable. "Vizelle the Black." She whispers in a monotone. "Good bye."
Eanne raised an eyebrow at the news. “Has she, now. Well, this is perfect. Could you accept her request for an interview, get her to come to you if she isn't there already, and hold her there until I arrive? There are a few important questions I need to ask her, and I'd rather do it in person, if possible.” She requested politely. “Also, would you happen to know anything about Miriam – she's also a local girl and used to work as one of my maids, until recently, when she suddenly quit. In fact, Julqe was hired as her replacement. I want to make sure everything is alright with Miriam – suddenly quitting like that makes me wonder if something happened to her...”
"Hm?" Vizelle hummed, wondering who'd be bold enough, and more importantly, powerful enough to attempt something like this. So much so, that she was surprised as an assassin drops down in front of her. "Oh? You know who I-" Her words were cutshort as the assassin took action, forcing the sorceress to do the same. Vizelle sighed, deciding to capture the assassin. She for goes putting up a barrier, figuring someone prepared to kill a psionic would have made countermeasures for it. The sorceress instead sends a massive jolt of psionic lust to her would be assassin, enough to render her unconscious, or at least brought down to her knees.
"I could..." She looks at Eanne. "I confess, this situation is slightly intriguing to me. As for Miriam, I can't tell you anything, I'm afraid. She's not one of the girls I recommended to Penelope. I could have some of my people keep an ear to the street, though."
