Here’s a fun question: What song(s) get you in the mood to write erotic content? I’m so interesting to see the taste in music everyone has. I’ll go first. I have a very wide range of music I like, but the right song for me is: Ghost by Adaline (from Wynnona Earp) But also almost any video game soundtrack especially Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, or Fallout oh and basically any Disney song: Show Yourself from Frozen 2, Kiss the Girl from Little Mermaid, Tale as Old as Time - Beauty and the Beast, Hawaiian Rollercoaster from Lilo and Stitch, etc.
ADHD fucks me hard when it comes to writing. I've tried writing with music before, but it was either too distracting, or I couldn't hear anything else but the music and the brain couldn't really work together. The one and only time it worked was Caro Emerald's - Just One Dance, and that was because it was semi-related to a porn game. And it only worked once.
It depends on most days for me and depends on what I'm writing. I don't usually write while the music's playing, but only when I'm taking breaks. If I'm writing a sex scene, it's currently two songs: Cowgirl and Bound [2049] back-to-back, both by Toasty Digital. I started using Toasty as my mood setter since I did a Christmas Special last year, where I themed each chapter to a Christmas song, and I had to listen to specific Christmas songs over and over again — his Yeezy Workshop was my break song since it was different, but still kept to the Christmas theme. When I was writing my Halloween Special, I listened to Abba's Fernando, Mamma Mia, Waterloo, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, and Dancing Queen in tribute to one of my favorite Community episodes: Epidemiology.
This very much. I can't seem to do anything else than drive when I listen to music. That's the only combination that works. On a side note, out of curiosity what's the game?
Rihanna's music is so sexually charged that it typically gets me in that mood. "Pon de Replay" and "S&M" being two notables.
Not really a sexual component to it, but I kind of think of Depeche Mode's "Wrong" as Madeleine's theme song, so I sometimes listen to it before writing chapters featuring her.
