I'm working on a new story and need help creating a list of famous female thieves from comics and beyond. They have to be from the modern area (i.e. have guns), so (unfortunately) no Red Sonja. So far, I have come up with . . . Catwoman (Selina Kyle) - Of course! Red Monika Black Cat (Felicia Sara Hardy) Fujiko Mine Ororo Munroe (Storm) Carmen Sandiego Volcana (Claire Selton) Modesty Blaise Irene Adler Nocturna (various names)
Maybe providing images of them could've helped, and while I understand that different iterations and artists/actresses would make appearances a subject term, it's still worth a shot I guess. And if you're going to go through with it, maybe the usage of the spoiler tag could help.
More than half of these I never heard of, so I can't have an opinion or be interested. Googling a few of them. Red Monika and Mine feel like they could be good if they had better fanart. There probably is if I look, though the artwork from the first few images doesn’t really highlight their looks all so well though it seems to try to. I feel it might fall into a case where it’s less about aesthetics for people and just the most well known characters like most fan fic things.
I'd throw Chloe Frazer from the Uncharted franchise on here, but I doubt she's got the cachet of someone like Catwoman. And I assume you're limiting it to catburglar types, otherwise Harley Quinn is a notable omission
Feels like an odd selection because I can't say I know many of them. On the other hand, I can't say I'm an expert in the field either, so maybe I'm biased. I'd add Eva Kant, though. Not sure how much known outside of Italy she is, but both her drawn depiction and her latest real-life incarnation are quite hot. Also, does Yuffie from FF7 count? Can't really think of anyone else out of the top of my head...
Yeah, Harley is not strictly a thief, though she is fun to write. Thanks for the Chloe Frazer from the Uncharted, reference, I will have to look her up.
It is. When I started to think of comic-esque thieves I was surprised how few came to mind. After Catwoman, Black Cat and Fujiko, I drew a blank and had to do some research. I've never heard of Eva Kant or Yuffie from FF7, I will have to look them up - thanks!
Catwoman because skintight catsuit. And skintight clothes should be a gold standard for aspiring female thieves.
