more uses for the sidebar

This is something that occured to me recently due to the fact that the sidebar now holds a lot of useful information when publishing a chapter and that is honestly a great addition.

    So, this got my thinking.

Why not also employ that space for readers?

I would like the sidebar to have an option to be filled with chapter or story specific information that can be accessed by a click. To be turned on at an author's discretion.

An example for what this could be used for would be stuff like character bio's. You obviously don't want to spam that in every chapter but it would be nice if the reader had the opportunity to view this sort of stuff without having to comb through the storymap(on stuff like Harem Hotel it's a nightmare)

Hey! I'm definitely open to the idea. Could you elaborate a bit on how you imagine this working, especially how authors would add and manage the information? I'd love to hear more details! :)

    Sure!

The most simply way would be something similiar to the synopsis you already can put in for a story, except in this case it would be toggled for each individual chapter, let's call it "Addditional Information"

To cover the most ground and allow maximum usability, I envision it in two forms

    Chapter specific "Additional Information"

This is a field that is unique to each chapter and can be filled with whatever the authors wants, showing up only for this chapter.

    Toggle-based "Additional Information"

These would be a number of pre set info dumps, that the user can toggle on at will. I have no specific number in mind for them, but the more the better.

The reason for the toggle based approach is to spare the author the hassle to have to fill out "Additional information" each time. Instead they can have a number of presets that can be activated with a toggle.

To give a more concrete example, let's say you want to have Bio's for a Harem Hotel season appear on the sidebar

These Bios change drastically through the story so it would be something like

    Character Bio Round 1
    Character Bio Round 2

    etc

    General layout

This one's a bit tricky since the information you can fit in in the side bar is obviously heavy limited by size. The simplest solution would be to have the reader put only minimalistic information and links in there. So no images or anything fancy. Being able to access a Character Bio or Rules chapter from every part in the chapter would already be a massive Qol
    improvement

If we want to be fancy, a pop up, similiar like the "write comment" button would be perfect, although I am not sure how feasible that is to code.

That's about the gist of it really. These "Additional Information" dumps would of course be optional and writers may or may not use them at while. They also should be expanded by click, similiar to how "Tags" currently work in order to avoid cluttering up the sidebar.
