I'd turn that question around: are you working on a project to receive feedback, or because you want to see it finished?

Partially both to be honest. When I start a project, I want to flesh out the world around me, but due to problem with my thinking nogging, I'm demotivated easily and feedback usually helps.

    It's a cycle caused by a lack of self-validation I guess.

I think I had to post around forty chapters of Hard Candy before I finally got a comment and it wasn't even a positive one lol

Zeebop has the right of it here. Write for yourself first and foremost.

It can help to write a lot in advance before starting publishing. That way the lack of feedback won't affect your morale

Have you been asking for it? Few people volunteer feedback unless the author is clearly soliciting it, and even then it is uncommon

Line up some sympathetic readers if you're interested in encouragement and/or suggestions. Some of us aren't even on the site every week, so unless we're following you as author or your story, it disappears from the front page like the morning dew.

I thrive on encouragement and comments, though I write enough for my own amusement (esp. my short-episodic RPG based "Slut World" and "Lusty Magical Academy" storylines) that I'll pick them back up.
