Make dragon able to transform into a hot woman and back and I'm sold.

Shapeshifting is a common theme with dragons. I'm just wondering if the dragon's gender should be locked or if the story would just start with "is it male? Female? Other?" split.

If the dragon can shapeshift, then why not let the dragon be a bit fluid and switch between sexes as well?

That's an option as well, I agree. Might drive off some readers though.

If the dragon isn't picky about what sex it's partner is...magic does as magic does.

If the dragon can shapeshift, then are we talking about male or female virgins?
