my head lol. To be fair, there’d only been one issue so far in my story, but as I go deeper in I worry I’ll fuck up more and forget lore I have in my head. So now I’m re-reading to write down everything (and things in my head), which feels very strange. Also, reading your own work is… weird. 2/
Most of the notes you make, your readers won't notice you getting wrong... but some of it, they will, and you won't know in advance which one is which, so you still have to do it. :P
Me too, I don't really have a storyboard or plot in mind most of the time, I just write from where I am at the moment. Often when I'm writing, I find that I'm daydreaming scenarios that could only take place about 6,000 words later. I also sometimes have to refer to old chapter to keep track of previously mentioned plot point like the date, weather, enviroment, etc.
I actually just finished going through my story as though I was a reader, taking notes the entire time (both for what’s happened and what’s to come). It was an incredibly bizarre experience to attempt to perceive my own work as a viewer, but I definitely think I have a better hold than I did previously lol. I even got some new ideas!
