Being the Sorting Hat is either laughably easy or would be one of the most difficult jobs you could have in the whole world of Harry Potter.

I don't know if there's any lore, but what do you think it does to a a 12 year old kid if an authority figure that is widely portrayed as infallible tells them they're Slytherin (ie. evil) and then force them to only hang out with all the other kids who've been told they're evil? I can hardly think of a better method of creating turning a quarter of your students into the in-universe equivalent of the SS!

@TheLowKing I'm not quite that invested into Harry Potter lore, but wasn't/isn't Slytherin more of 'mischevious pranksters' rather then evil? At least until Tom Riddle/Voldemort/You-Know-Who said "It's Voldemorting time" and Voldemorted all over the place. I feel like at some point we got about half of Slytherin explicitly hate the 'evil' label.

Also, wouldn't the Sorting Hat be WAY older then anything we see in the books (not including spin-offs and historical lore flashbacks). I feel like the thing's kinda necessary for the 4-house system to work. If it's not as old as Hogwarts, then it probably would have been one of the first Dumbledore did as Headmaster.

A CIA agent gets involved in the competition, but all he does is drop LSD into everyone's drinks (including his own) and then watches people go crazy.

No no, there'd be several agents, and they'd all be taking notes.
Also, you want to drug no more than 50% of the people there because then you get to see all the possible combinations of drugged hypnotists, undrugged hypnotists, drugged victims, and undrugged victims.

I literally had never heard of Mick Jagger. Ever. The only mention of his name I ever heard was the song 'Moves Like Jagger', and the only name I'd ever heard that sounded even remotely like 'Mick Jagger' that was known for moving well was Michael Jackson.

In other words, I live under a rock, apparently.

Would that mean that religious wars are caused by different writers trying to kill off each other's OCs?

If we assume the converse, that religion/mythology is how the characters percive the writers, then it stands to reason that the generally more 'evil' gods (tricksters like Loki) or destructive events like Ragnarok are a sort of 'writer war'.

Although, if we assume the 'gods' are self inserts, and they people behind the divine screen are really just trying to write a good story, then there is a very real chance the wars of our world are merely another part of the story, the supposed 'plot-twist'.

I spent a solid 5 minutes trying to figure out how to make 'meaningfully' fit better before realizing that the joke is that 'meaningfully' is an adverb. In case someone didn't realize, I do NOT know what an adverb is. I don't intend to learn either, so don't tell me.

2/3rds of my chapter. Apparently they straight-up won't grade anything past 700 words. Therefore, my chapter is too long for exam graders from CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY. By a wide margin. I pulled up the calculator and my chapter is 40.57% larger than a 10th grade extra-credit special course essay. I would like to stress that I have even MORE chapters that are similar in length. Holy shit.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but 1000 words is not very long for a chapter. :P That's about 3 pages in a average-sized paperback novel.

Consider the following; I have 2-3 more chapters of similar sizes, plus at least 5 that are likely over 667 words, which comes out to roughly 19 pages. Thats for one (1) storyline.
I have two other storylines which are probably 10-15 pages each.
I have finished none of them.
Therefore, it is only logical to assume that I am, as they say, balling.
