*SPOILER ALERT* My problem is that i had to play 9S for so fucking long. That guy is not main character material. Also hacking is way to strong for how bullshit a mechanic it is. When i finally got to playing A2 they threw me back to 9S every thirty seconds again...It was awesome in the final battle but didn't really work outside of that.
Also the whole drama for dramas sake got on my nerves...I get that some people have to die but fucking EVERYBODY? Ending E is not a good enough pay off...sorry, i am ranting here...
I don't know, I really love the game. But then again I'm a Taro Yoko fan from way back, dude's a genius, but I'll be the first to tell you his particular brand of depressing is not for everybody.
I've heard, but to be quite frank it is badly executed. The Plot did too much too shallowly instead of building on plotpoints already present. At other times its downright nonsensical. How the fuck are the machines aware that there is no colony on the moon literal days after Adam said "We will dissect them" clearly showing that they have no idea.
It could have concentrated on one or two twists and the philosophical background behind that. Pascal's death? That shit was well made. Simone? Rushed and jammed down my throat. Why introduce the Human A.I. only to have it die about an hour later? Why not have Eve stick around for longer? The twist with 2B being an E unit was foreseeable and great, Yorha suddenly being destroyed was not.
I really fucking hate the wasted potential here. I too very liked the game, and i have nothing against a depressing story at all...Don't get me started with the 'eternal cicle' Bullshit as well. Story is riddled with holes.
