Better Than Napoleon can come after Big Blue Blob.Considering how much land you need to take for the Big Blue Blob achievement, the other one would be simple at that point. The annoying thing was that I was only 3 provinces away from the achievement and I can attribute that to an accidental Humiliate Rival war that I did near the start of the game.
Ah, classic. 'I'm just gonna rival Aragon to increase my spynetwork speed as well as get some more Power Projection and Prestige out of it .... aaaand i clicked the wrong casus belli'
Which then of course I don't realize until it is too late to reload the Backup. Ironman is unforgiving.
Just started playing this game and I think the game hates me. I got my ruler to die literally one second after spending points to boost stability to lvl 3 (only way to convert anything) and my country go bankrupt two days after some abomination declared war on me, Denmark (+Sweden, Norway) +Poland (+Lithuania, Moldova,) + Hungary. Poor Muscovy.
How do you go bankrupt 0,o I have 1.5k hours and i never once went bankrupt...then again i am a very careful player, which is why i am the worst with hordes.
Denmark and Poland do ally fairly often in my experience though.
It was my first game that I didn't lose very fast and I went a bit overboard with mercenaries. Sure it takes me 6 months to raise my manpower enough to get one regiment but rebels can raise a 25 stack from a 3 development province. I probably have a lot more to learn about the game, but it was fun as it went.
EUIV has a pretty high learning curve, but when you learn the mechanics; it can be satisfying to play and curate a small nation into a superpower.
@Funatic I mostly swore off Hordes after I got the Great Khan achievement. That run taught me the definition of "aggressive conquest" and pulled me way far out of my comfort zone. Typically I too am a very careful player.
I am going to only do the Great Khan (And that Golden Horde thingy) Achievement and then forever drop them. I will probably try World Conquest soon again, fucked my last run up and had 20 less Absolutism than i could have.
@TheDespaxas You might want to raise Autonomy in provinces you have conquered. Sure it hurts the economy for a time but it also reduces unrest by 10 in that province for a fair amount of time.
