that was a reference to LGBTQ ^^ Nuns might not get that right so I mixed up the letters. yes... isn't that enough? Yes, but there might be restrictions. And there is still a difference between the age of consent and the age of majority.
@blank97 Witness warfare (it was actually kept pretty civil but it was funny how it kept going forever).
You know I used to think I know a lot about bras before I clicked on this link. And I thought, This thread is going on forever,
Well, I think moving all this to a new thread was a good move. But now the title doesn't make any sense. I would suggest changing it to something like "A discussion on Bestality" or even better "A discussion on CHYOA Rules". As the topic is shifting towards underage rule. Who knows maybe someone will ask about some other rules here.
They had some good episodes, I don't mind Big Bang Theory. It was civil, but it definitely reached the stage where it had devolved into a circular argument.
Now I know how you guys are using the word animal but technically humans are a type of animal. Luckily we pass the test so we are good. Otherwise we would be left with only plants and inorganic objects to lewd.
Wait...There was an entire conversation on Beastiality and the Harkness Test while I was gone and I missed it? Well, how can I peddle my hypothetical Lion King fanfiction now? Someday I'm going to go through with writing up a Lion King fanfiction just so that I have something to link back to these discussions.
Knowing the Internet, somewhere that market has already been cornered to depths farther than you'd want to know.
There's probably already a pornographic musical. Hell, some of the existing lyrics could be interpreted naughtily: I know it sounds sordid But you'll be rewarded When at last I am given my dues And injustice deliciously squared Be prepared!
I'm well aware of the depths of depravity any fandom is willing to go to sexualize characters. Even ones they shouldn't. It's less of an attempt to break new ground or even an attempt to write a decent story and more of an attempt to provide a proof of concept. An attempt to provide an example of the extreme end of the spectrum provided by the Harkness Test rule. That is -effectively- Earth Creatures with Human Personalities, Human Attitudes, Human Goals, Human Speech, etc. Such as in The Lion King and many other (usually animated) films.
All this talk about sexy talking animals got me curious, ngl. Since we can't have tag "bestiality" for obvious reason, what tag exactly should i use to try and find such stories with kinda, but not quite, human on animal intercourses?
Generally, the term that you're looking for is "feral". However, I wouldn't be surprised to find that the term doesn't have a huge presence on the site. Its generally branched under "furry porn" and there isn't really a large community of writers here that indulge too deeply in that area. Yet others either don't use the term, or use it wrongly.
Yeah, search finds very few stories with that tag, my guess is that people just don't tag it right and while there are more stories with such content i can't find them.
Overall I feel like no underage and no bestiality rules don't do their job very well. First one is easily circumvented with just "this character is 18 y.o." it doesn't matter that character looks and behaves like shota or loli, everyone is satisfied. Or there was virus outbreak or whatever and half of population is now looks underage. With bestiality everything goes to the Harkness Test. And while it filters out most outrageous bestiality cases, it also should filter out alot of other content. How about tentacles or vines? Those are clearly not intelligent enough and can be considered alive, so why is that allowed? I'm not exactly sure what hides behind "monster" tag, but I can guess that's some semi intelligent fantastic beasts that try to rape you. What about goblins or orcs? Those are usually described as stupid, and therefore should fail Harkness Test as well. Ah, and people's favorite - your usual "virus that turns every female into sex crazed bimbo"? Its such a common plot device but even this clearly violates Harkness Test. Harkness Test has a reason: main objection to bestiality is that animals can't express informed consent. Even if animal is horny, it can't comprehend all the subtle nuances and implications of the act it tries to perform, therefore engaging in intercourse with it would be considered that human just "uses" hapless animal for his own pleasure. That can be considred as cruel treatment and animal abuse. Harnkness Test was designed to eliminate such issue. But if you use it as guideline, you just can't have "con-consent" content on this site at all. Harkness Test operates on presumption that non-consent is wrong. If we take that premise away, it just ceases to work. More so, it will suddenly become apparent that we care about animals more than we care about humans, otherwise, how is it possible that non-consent only prohibited toward other species, but is tolerated in regard to humans? Enforcing no bestiality and no underage rules, while tolerating non-consent appears very hypocritical to me. I believe that these 2 rules were enforced cause both underage sex and bestiality are highly illegal, former is illegal universally, while later is illegal in overwhelming majority of countries or states. But what about other criminal behaviours? Rape is not more legal than those 2, and incest (very common theme on this site) is illegal in half of the world too. So what was the reasoning for singling out these exact 2 rules, while allowing everything else?
I'd say robot, plants, magical constructs, etc are allowed because those things aren't alive and don't have feelings even to the extent animals do. You can't rape a dildo even if a dildo can't consent. I'm reasonably sure the "1000 year old elven princess that just happens to look like a 12 year old" loophole won't fly round here. Should probably report that if you see it. As for why rape and other forms of criminality are tolerated, it's a fair question but defining and defending our societies messed up moral standards is probably going to take us beyond the scope of this conversation
Yeah, i can agree with this ones (even thogh robots would be under question as soon as they get AI), but what about tentacles? Lets say good old lewd mimic, bunch of tentacles and toungues that reside in a shell that appears to be a treasure chest. Its just bides its time to lure unsuspecting adventurer to unleash the tentacled fury on all of the victim's orifices. I'd say this one won't pass Harkness Test, but no one will ever bat an eye on such common trope, only because its doesn't look like existing animal, although its technically bestiality. Just right now I saw a story with actual shotas, that 30+ years old because of some virus. Heck, even one of my favorite stories "The captive prince" is technically shotacon. Protagonist in there for all intents and purposes looks and behaves like shota, but story mentioned that he's 18+. "Yeah, right 18+ my ass" kind of prince, you know? Look, i'm not intend to denigrate this or that story, quite the contrary, I believe that you should just allow everything, cause selectively banning some content, while leaving other very questionable content around just doesn't make much sense in my book. Although I can understand "no underage" rule simply because you just asking for troubles with authorities if you host actual pedophilia stories, but regarding bestiality it shouldn't be a problem. Mcstories has bestiality in their tags and i don't see a problem.
It would probably help to understand that the CHYOA rules serve as legal requirements to prevent the site from being taken down. They reflect current laws in the USA, I believe. It's the same reasoning as making users confirm their adulthood - it protects CHYOA from legal repercussions. As mentioned above, this is actually against the rules. Please report any chapter that matches this description, and a moderator will take a closer look. Also mentioned above: these are not considered alive. In real life, animals have rights; plants and other inanimate objects do not. The Harkness test demands human intelligence. I've personally met plenty of people who could be outwitted by the average orc or goblin. Again, human intelligence. A human isn't considered an animal by virtue of being stupid. I'm not going to be arrested for bestiality because my girlfriend can't spell 'restaurant'. I agree. I think that the real reason for the illegality of bestiality is that society considers sex between a human and animal to be inherently repulsive, regardless of any measure of consent. That's why it's unacceptable to write about. Believe it all you like, but it's wrong. The two rules are enforced because it's illegal to write about those subjects. The same is not true of non-con fantasies. I think the act of rape is illegal because it harms the victim; if there's no victim, then there's no issue. Bestiality and pedophilia are illegal because, in addition to harming the victim, they are considered morally repulsive.
