    After a few minute's walking, the agents arrive at the village green. Stoneleaf is there, surrounded by a small group of people, preaching on the evils of non-humans. You stop, not yet noticed by the druid or his followers. There is time, should you choose, to hide before he notices you, or steel yourself for the confrontation.

    Dame Pinkamina's hand goes to the hilt of her sword, but she makes no attempt to hide, and why should she? She, after all, wears a human seeming.

    'This could go very bad...'
    I think to myself and debate my options. On the one hand if this escalated into a conflict quickly we very well may be able to rid ourselves of perhaps our biggest obstacle on this mission. On the other, if this escalated into a conflict quickly it may just convince people that this Stoneleaf is right.

    I cast a quick glance at my companions and see that Pinkamina seems ready to have a confrontation with Stoneleaf and his group. For a brief moment I contemplate grabbing Rhenh and ducking away from view, perhaps giving her a chance to resolve this thing diplomatically. But I shake that thought away, if she's ready to get right to this, then so am I.

    I just hope Rhenh is as prepared...

    I keep walking unsure of why my companions are so tense. We're here to talk after all not fight. There's no reason why this could spin out of control as long as we're nice and friendly and nobody is more nice and friendly than Rhenh the Faun.

    So without hesitation, I wave at Stoneleaf and call to him. "Heya! Mr. Stoneleaf. Can we talk to you for a bit?"

    (ooc: Sorry folks. Gotta play Rhenh the way that he would act.)

    As Rhenh trots towards Stoneleaf, calling out, the druid spins around.

    "Intruders! Aliens! Purge them from our lands!" He calls out, on seeing the faun, and while most of his followers shuffle uneasily, a few of the more fanatical ones grab sticks and rush, first at the faun, then on seeing their presence, at Dame Pinkamina and Vanek too...

    FIGHT TIME!
    You're all facing attackers. These are regular (if nativist) humans, and they're armed only with sticks, so this shouldn't be a hard fight. They're still charging, so you have the first turn.

    Two are charging at Rhenh,
    Two at Dame Pinkamina,
    And four at Vanek (the most obvious threat).

    "Do TRY not to hurt these misguided fools," Dame Pinkamina calls out to the others and readyies her riposte.

    Swiftly doffing her cloak she uses it to entangle one attacker, while drawing her sword and blocking the blow of the other with the blade in one smooth motion.

    (Agility defense: 8 stat + 6 roll = 14)

    One of the men swings, his stick missing Palmer but hitting her cloak away before it can entangle him. The other one doesn't even get the chance to attack - Dame Pinkamina's blade carves his stick in half before he can even do anything with it beside wave it at her, and without a weapon, he has no choice but to run away...

    GM note: You defend when attacked, not as an action...
    Anyway, you got a critical - one is out of the fight, the other you successfully defended against.

    "H-Hey! Didn't you hear what i said? I don't want to fight. I just want to talk..." I back away from the two humans charging me while attempting to dissuade them from the attack.
    (Charisma: 17 Base + 2 Roll =19)
    However, I will be ready to brain them with one of my front hooves should they not be dissuaded.
    (preemptive strength check if needed (Strength: 8 Base + 2 Roll =10)


    (OOC: Rhenh is not a fighter and doesn't really have any way to defend himself in melee since he wields a bow)

    One of the humans takes a swing at you anyway, and while you block it the impact to your forearm is jarring and painful. (Enemy hits, -1 Strength until recovery).

    The other one, though, shifts uneasily. "Erm... err... I... err... I left the pot on at home..." He says, sheepishly, drops his stick and hurries off towards the houses, despite the shouts of Stoneleaf.

    GM Note: You barely failed your defence (enemy rolled a 6...) and you critically succeeded in your Charisma attack. You are facing one enemy.

    With a huff of disappointment, I bat my wings and jump into the air before slamming down between my would-be assailants. Quickly rising to my full height, I let out a loud roar hoping to cower them.

    (Charisma: Base 10 + Roll 4 = Total 14)

    As the demon slams into the ground in front of them, roaring as he makes the ground shake beneath his hooves, the men threatening him step back, raising their sticks to defend themselves, but not attacking... yet.

    GM's Note 1: I'll take that as a special action, using Charisma to threaten your enemies into not attacking. It worked, they didn't attack this turn...
    GM's Note 2: In future, I won't allow a Charisma-based attack in combat, just other actions aimed at distracting/intimidating opponents, however I will allow defensive actions of all kinds... Sorry merkros and omega.

    Summary, Round 1:
    Dame Pinkamina is facing one enemy, and has successfully defended against his attack.
    Rhenh is facing one enemy, who has hit him and inflicted 1 point of Strength damage (i.e. you're at -1 Strength until it heals).
    Vanek is facing four enemies, none of whom attacked this turn.

    Round 2, FIGHT!

    'Well, this isn't what I wanted.' I think to myself as I see the four guys charging me stop in their tracks but not run away.

    'Looks like I'm going to get my hands dirty on this one.'
    and with a sigh charge the group.

    (Strength: Base 16 + Roll 2 =Total 18)
    (OOC: Do I get to make multiple attacks or just one against a single target? And how exactly does my defense work?))

    "Aww...I really don't want to fight..." I mutter as i rear up and attempt to thump the man attacking me with one of my front hooves.

    (Strength: Base 8 - 1 Hurt + Roll 1 =Total 8)

    (OOC: Probably going to back off and use my bow if I can't smack this guy down this round...and rolling a 1 probably doesn't help)

    Pinkamina fights like the dualist she is, counter-attacking by attempting to disarm her opponent without injuring him.

    (Agility 8 + Roll 3 = 11. )

    Vanek barrels into the group just as they recover their senses, knocking two of them down onto the grass. The other two step backwards, raising their sticks defensively and not attacking.
    Rhenh kicks out, his hoof hitting the man in the chest as he goes to swing. The blow goes wild, but the man recovers his footing and prepares for another attempt.
    Pinkamina artfully disarms her opponent, but he raises his fists and takes a swing at her, which she barely dodges.

    Round 2 Summary:
    No PC has been injured. Rhenh and Palmer both wounded their single opponent, while Vanek wounded two of his.
    Round 3, FIGHT!

    "Fisticuffs, eh? So be It!" Dame Pinkamina says and sheathes her sword, while attempting to avoid the man's swing.

    (Agility 8 + 4 Roll = 12 total.)

    "I don't suppose you guys are ready to sit down and talk this out now?" I say to guys in front of me. "No? Suit yourself." I finish and move for another attack.

    (Strength: Base 16 + Roll 5 (YAY!) = Total 21)

    Dame Pinkamina resheathes her sword, dodging away from her opponent's swing, before steady7ng herself, fists raised in the classic boxing position.

    Meanwhile, Vanek charges again, trampling over the two fighters who were on the ground. Though he's careful not to actually kill them, the impact knocks them out, and they lie barely breathing on the ground. The other two circle slowly, making half-swings but not actually attacking... yet.
