Agents of L.U.S.T. OOC and GM information

No worries @merkros this is only my second foray into the thing, so I'm still quite new and not sure on etiquette myself.

 

And now I get to admit that I am the creepy overly experienced person in the group of relative youngsters...

This is like my 40-50th time doing PBP, though mostly it was on another site and each site has their own little foibles. Stil, as I understand it, you guys have done nothing wrong or out of line as far as PBP etiquette is concerned, with the very minor exception of @merkros tendency to run ahead of the group...

However, that is, as I said, very minor: but more importantly totally IN CHARACTER, and ergo just something we all have to deal with...

 

Mr GM person sir: I've been having a thought, but I have to ask your permission. I know this is a bit early, as it is not guaranteed that we will even succeed at this mission, but if we do, could we forgo some/all of our Stat advances to take instead a new racial trait?

 

Well, I'm sure if things start to get a little hairy. Rhenh will stick closer to the group. Afterall, he's not really much of a fighter and his two companions are much bigger and stronger than him.

 

Yes, this is entirely permissible. In fact, you could take a non-racial trait.
To buy a new trait: you tell me what you want, I work out a game mechanic for it (or edit/accept your mechanic), and I also assign a cost. You pay that many stat points, and you acquire the trait.

 

I'm not sure I should even have to buy this one, (and honestly I think to would make some sense to have at least two racial traits per character, but I digress,) but as I read the sheets right now Ruslehyachnye can't breathe fire, or use any other kind of draconic breath weapon, is that right? (No idea how that would work in your game system but my idea would be agility to target and then Strength or Con for damage.) [NOT precision because precision is fine motor, this is an area effect so gross motor is more at play.]

 

Costs 1 point, lets you use CON* rather than any other stat to attack in dragon form, as well as produce fire (or your given element) at will for other tasks. Also, good point on racial traits, the next edition/mission will feature three traits per race/character, with more purchaseable...

*CON for both to-hit and damage, as it determines both the amount of fire produced (to-hit) and how hot it is (damage). Same formula for other breath weapons.

 

I'm, does that mean I would get a breath weapon as a freebie next mission? And either way can I drop willpower by one to have the breath weapon right now? (Because who ever heard of a true dragon with no breath weapons?)

 

I'm tempted to talk back to the guards with a little bit of sassyness. Especially considering @Nemo of Utopia and @Omegah2o haven't said anything to them yet. No doubt due to perfectly valid reasons, but something tells me that Rhenh arguing semantics might do more harm than good regardless of my charisma roll. So I'm going to defer to my more intelligent party members for this one.

 

I'm just not sure how to reply. I'm leaning to going and doing something else for a few hours or putting my dragon plan into action, but I'm not sure what we should do...

 

Well, angering the king would probably be a bad move. So it's probably best to just go along with it for the time being...

 

You've got pretty much four options:
1. Talk down the guards, and then the king and chief druid.
2. Leave and go kill Stoneleaf.
3. Head back to the brewery/walk around the village and try to convince people to come along.
4. Head to a different village and return to the humans later.

 

Well, since we're already here I'm all for trying to talk down the guards.

Edit: I'd like to say that I was roleplaying my character being dumb by forgetting that Nemo's Character was also going to be entering with me.....But I can't. I'm just that dumb.

 

GE, got another new trait I want to run by you:

Omnilingual: you can speak any language.

What's your thoughts on that?

Oh, and remember you have, as your human trait, an air of nobility...

 

Random Question: What's the deal with pregnancy?

I've been in IRL campaigns that have ignored such things and others that have taken the consequences of sex pretty seriously. It probably won't be a problem for Vanek or Rhenh being dudes and all and the relatively short periods of time in any particular dimension, but does Dame Pinkamina Palmer or any future female character have to worry about any buns in their ovens?

Also I find it amusing that describing a Dragon's bits is probably the most apt use of the "Oven" euphemism.

I mean...aren't you already basically doing that? I didn't even know there were different languages until you started talking to Vanek in Daemonic and Rhenh in Faunish.

 

Actually, those, 'Common', Draconic, Elvin, Goblin, and Orcish are the only languages Ruslehyachnye knows, and in her Pinkamina form she cant pronounce half of them right. (She HAS had 120 years to pick up languages, though Demonic and Faunish were done with hypnotherapy right before this mission...)

 

Just assume you know any language at speakable level (even if you have a funny accent) unless I say otherwise.
Also, pregnancy... L.U.S.T. has 100% successful contraceptives with no side affects (magic!) so unless you want to get knocked up, it's a non-issue.
