The guards keep watch on the Poles carefully, but eventually, their concentration is broken, and Mszczuj's group manages to descent into the tunnels beneath Trakai castle. The smell assaults his nose, as Ignatia, who decided to tag along, begins to gag.
Larisa who had been keeping out of sight with her aunt, observed and gave a visible frown. “...it might be better to just let the inquisition be wiped. I guess we could risk ourselves to save them...but what would be the point? Keeping the people alive who are just going to kill us later for the sake of one or two who aren’t bullheadedly stupid? Even after the black knights are dealt with, we still have an inquistion to avoid, and the more it’s weakened through the war, the better that is for us. That being said, I’d rather we do keep Angelo alive, if possible...there is just very little purpose to trying all that hard for the rest.”
“I see..” Ophelia paused as she considered their options. We could wait until the enemies finish building the ladders and attack the castle – it will be difficult for them to turn around when climbing ladders... but that means giving them more time to reorganize themselves, and possibly to notice the Inquisition force. If they notice the impending attack they might strike first and destroy the inquisitors before attacking the castle. That would leave us in an even worse position than we are in now. We can't risk it. “Very well. Your plan is sound and seems like the best option for both our forces. We shall do as you ask and attack the enemy once your attack begins. May God watch over us all.” The noblewoman crossed herself a she made her decision. As risky as such an attack was it seemed their best hope for victory.
The castle comes into view, and then the siege camp. Marguerite holds up a gauntleted fist, and the column slows. The carriage is readied at the top of a hill overlooking the enemy, horses detached from it, and is then pushed down. The carriage rolls down the cliff, gaining speed, before it comes to a halt in the middle of the enemy. An inquisitor opens fire with his hand cannon, and the carriage explodes in a massive ball of fire, shrapnel flying in every direction, killing human and demon alike. Marguerite shouts "Charge!" The horsemen begin to rush down the hill into the fray. Enemies go flying as the heavy horses smash into them, swords, maces, spears and warhammers all reaching down to kill the besiegers. Angelo comes close to a goat man who avoided the main charge, rushing up to him with an axe. Ophelia hears the explosion, and then sees the carnage, as the Inquisition attacks, tearing into the knights and demons. Miroslava smirks, as the battle begins in front of them. "Not a bad idea. I can't risk my castle falling, so I'll have to commit the dead men at some point, but perhaps it would be wiser for us to wait until the last moment..."
As she saw the long haired man, who introduces himself as the king's brother. Allune tried not to glare at him, "Yes, I am she." She replied, "If I may ask, why have you summoned me?" She asked, trying to keep a polite tone.
Mszczuj turn around to Ignatia, and wisperd to her, tried to breath by his mouth to awoid smelling all shit here. "Why are come with us woman? There will be literaty shit around here." He said.
"Last night, a servant of Sir Darius came to me with an offer. He suggested that I release his master, and hang this Lukas fellow for the crime of trying to forcibly marry you. I was going to refuse outright. Darius seems to be of the opinion that I hate your father, when I really couldn't care less about the man. Darius has little to offer without his sword hand. But then I remembered seeing you in the courtyard. I have to ask, what would Darius hanging and Lukas going free be worth to you?"
"Lukas is my friend. I want to help him, if he's in the dungeon." She spits. "I can deal with some sewage."
“Attack! Strike now, before the enemy recovers!” Ophelia commanded without hesitation as she made her way to her horse. This is it – all or nothing... May God be with us. She prayed as she got up on her mount.
"What? The story you heard was completely twisted! It was Darius that planned to rape me, and force me to marry him by trying to impregnate me! Lukas is innocent of all this." Allune growled, glaring at the man. Before he began speaking again, she knew from his tone what he was implying. Which made the busty blond grit her teeth. "Out with it, what do you want?" She hissed.
The men roar in approval, as the palisade lifts, and the garrison sallies out. They smash into the black knights. Benacio stabs a knight going for Ophelia, as a hellhound begins running up to the young noblewoman. Ophelia sees it coming straight at her.
He smirks. "Why, the pleasure of your company, of course. I simply want us to spend some quality time together, every once in a while." The nobleman approaches, hand reaching around Allune's waist.
Mszczuj noticed his mustache getting wet from wet air in the servers and he was sure it will be smelling much worse when he get out of there. "Fine, but remeber we are not going to relase him from dungeon but to make sure he will stay safe inside. And to stop Darius from escape if he try it."
Ophelia tried to remain calm and aimed at the hellhound. She waited until it got closer before casting an ice arrow at it and trying to move out of the way.
'Taste steel, foul beast!' Angelo swung his mace at the goat creature's head, as he spurred his horse to run by faster.
Mszczuj nod and go deeper in the servers, listening for any sounds that someone here it is except them.
The arrow slices through the creature, killing it instantly, but its body flies into Ophelia, knocking her off her horse. The goat man's axe slams into Angelo's chest, knocking the wind out of the monk, but otherwise leaving him unharmed due to the mail. Angelo's mace caves in its skull, killing it, and he is carried by his horse further into the fight. He sees that the knights are beginning to reform, mounting their own horses to counter charge. Marguerite sits atop her horse fighting three knights, as Ophelia, who has ridden from the castle, lies on the ground, knocked clean off her mount.
He hears whistling, and footsteps, reverberating through the dark tunnel. After a while, torchlight illuminates the tunnel, and Mszczuj sees Darius' servant approaching, unaware of the Pole's presence.
