Between having some difficulty managing being on fire and the sudden distraction of a demon shifting, he wasn't giving any time to react before the demon had ripped into him. It only took one blow of his claws swiping to cleave the interrogator right in half. Being well rehearsed at this enough to know it would have been a killing blow, the lack of blood was almost unusual and before his two halves even fell to the ground, they began to wither into grains of dust, leaving only his clothes to remain as they fell on the floor. It was difficult to say what exactly had happened, but Ravenor could get the sense that he wasn't quite dead yet....but from the looks of it, he wouldn't be coming back any time soon. "No time! We need to get a move on!" The tiny wisp's voice was light squeaks and quickly drowned out by the sudden sounds of rumbling and war cries down the halls, the sound of a war horn echoing out all across the facility as an alert. "Rally on the east side! They're pouring in through the walls!" She could hear that voice shout over the violence that she knew was Oz's undoubtedly, trying to get some control over the chaos that was enusing.
Ravenor gives the fallen interrogator a contemptuous kick with a clawed foot, but he hardly cares if he lives. Giving a horrific approximation of a smile, he moves through the shadows, heading towards Oz's voice, ready to slaughter the so-called immortal.
@Daylan @unisol_gr44 Yegen gave a small look of acknowledgment to Capris, but then stared at most of the group, not dissuaded, holding onto his overly confident smile. "So, then let me ask you this. Can you all say that you have total faith in each other's strength as it is now?" The responses had somewhat died down, some demons simply resolving to shoot glares of contempt, while others seeming to begrudgingly consider the point that their current comrades wouldn't be enough. "Maybe it's just me, but I think we have a lot more to worry about right now then who likes who." The voice came from the far back, behind Yegen and the angels. As it came closer, Zariah revealed her face, seeming to border on almost bored and uninterested of the debate, but Yegen seemed to be in agreement with it as she came closer. "Our plans can't get caught up in this right now. We need to move forward. Which is why..." Placing his hand on the table, the earth began to shift as pillars of sand began to erupt from the floor, solidifying into sand. With their appearance, Nemriah walked up to each and lightly tapped them with her hand, breathing life into them as the flat surfaces became vivid with magical color. Yegen continued on as they began to take shape. "We have three big things to get done." "Leviathys. The underwater city, ruled by the demon lord of Envy, Bridget." Yegen's face looked even more maniacal at the thought, apparently this being a sore spot. "The treasures we raided from the tomb, weren't everything there. The remaining ones will be moved, but they won't keep them at their capital castle. They'll store them in the ancient vaults meant to hold things that even demonkind was not meant to know. Allegedly. My moles in the grand castle, inform me that Charon and Bridget are using the research labs of the city in private. Obviously, we need to find whatever it is they have and find out how to use it for ourselves." He might have had a point. A number of breakthroughs to the applications of magic could be applied to the Leviathys research facility or someone who at some point had at least studied there. Capris could recall that many of the better scholars he had met had studied there. "We have to know whose holding the cards before we play any. Neriah will be in charge of the team that does the digging." To confirm that, the angel had smiled again. "We will be forming a plan of how to enter, survive the water pressure, get in and out unnoticed, and maybe if that's successful, we'll make an attempt to take the city if we know our method works. From what I've seen, that will be tough. Lady Bridget is a pretty good fighter, but when in the water, she becomes invincible and can decimate entire units before they can even flinch! It's so scary, it's going to be fun finding the trick to it!" Neriah couldn't hold back her excitement. Almost childish and unconcerned with her claims. Not commenting, Yegen, moved onto the next pillar. A soil rich looking village, with sky so clean it could only be in the mortal world. "In the human realm, a lot of barren wastelands from past wars are suddenly growing crops again, healthier than ever. Locals have taken to praising the Harvest God. The idols look like either a winged beast or a dragon. It goes without saying that this has to because of Balam. I can't be sure, why he's taken an interest in humans, but allowing to cultivate a following and have people pledge their souls to him, could become a serious problem, if it's not taken care of." The thief king did make a reasonable point. If he got away with growing a cult to swear people to his service, that would amplify the amount of prospective soldiers under his command. Zariel, let his wings unfurl, not changing from that contemptuous look. "I cannot abide, allowing such damnable actions. It's bad enough for humans to cast their souls to demons, but to knowingly cast such a deception, aiming to deceive such mortals. I will right this, with or without, anyone's aid." Given the tone of himself and the audience mumbling, they were all looking at the option to without, mutually. "Have fun with that." Yegen didn't even try to acknowledge that as, he moved onto the image on the final pillar. "This is the village of Ureath, this morning." "Celebrating the lunar festival or something like that." Yegen's smile slowly began to fade, for a brief second looking almost...grossed out. "And this....is it, since noon. You might want to breath first, for this..." Spoiler "What the hell could happen in the span of one day? None of my guys could get any worthwhile information, but if the babbling of what survivors were makes any sense, people just went absolutely wild. And nobody ever stopped treating it like one giant party the entire time...there's no telling if it's true...but the Great Bitch of Lust herself's name got thrown around a few times. This..." Yegen let people process it. "Morena did this?" "That's...a little much." "I did a lot of bad shit in the war...but this...is something else." "Do we know that for sure? It just doesn't make sense. Even if she's the enemy....to think she'd do something at the scope of this..." "This is just wrong." It was very, very, rare for any actions to even phase most demons, let alone make them flinch. But it had. Even that stand offish celestial, Zariel, seemed to be deliberately trying to only peek at it through his peripherals. "It's pretty inefficient." Yegen made his contribution, seeming to completely miss the point that everyone else was making, before smiling again. "Regardless, this should be a good opportunity to turn people against the royals, true or not. On top of finding what exactly she's up to...supposedly, she's making some kind of move against Aversa. That's worth looking into. And if need be...it may be time to eliminate one of our rivals, entirely." As he finished his speech, the demons were left conversing with each other of seemingly which was the better job or who they were willing to stomach working with. Zariah, kept her composure as she spoke up. "Don't concern yourselves with who you like. Think of where your skills each best serve to completing the objectives. Think about it, then volunteer to which one works best. If none, you'll be on guard duty here for reinforcing the palace, in the mean time."
Levandi hummed thoughtfully. It was one thing to enjoy and play around with humans, and she could not fault wanting as many of them as possible, but the fun and pleasure came from making use of their honest feelings to fall into your embrace. Even when the more rational parts of themselves knew better, you could still make them do what you wanted and that submission was the most delicious flavor any self-respecting demon could want. This was clearly a scam of some sort, Balam tricking people into thinking he was something he was not to get adoration that was not really for him as he truly was. And even if she was curious as to how Balam was pulling this off, Levandi could not abide something like that continuing. Plus, it sounded like she might get to spend some time with that Zariel fellow and she was curious about him now. He was putting on airs about his pride but still, here he was in a room full of demons and along side one of his own that had fallen. What, exactly, might it take to make him fall as far as Neriah... or maybe even further? Raising a hand, Levandi said, "As someone who can't STAND going without, who am I to subject someone to that same frustration? I'll go with you, Zari. Besides, it's been a little while since my last visit to the mortal world and it's always interesting to see what surprising things they've been up to while we haven't been paying attention."
Capris was intrigued to go to Leviathys with Neriah, but the carnage in Ureath brought him a more visceral reaction. 'Whatever happened in Ureath, I'll be going to find out', Capris announced.
