Alexandra pipes in. "Does she work for anyone? Does she have a boss we can go to, to have him call her off?"

“No. She’s one of those rogue types. There’s a reason we don’t like it when people wanna just play with themselves.” Adel was flat in her speaking, though Heather had to give her a look.

“So. What? Like what is this some kind of superhero club thing? Captain Antman or what the fuck ever?”

“Well, god. It took some dam long to explain this to these two and now I gotta do the same for you?” Adel was clearly frustrated at the prospect of trying to bring another person up to speed, taking a look at Alexandra was again.

“She’s Medius Union like me. Or was. She was mostly just kind of weird to begin with..but when her empathy power evolved after she trained it...she got...yeah. Not great. Guess when the Consensus realized you had the same power, it didn’t want to wait for another Angela running around. It’s not about what you are-you’re kinda cool in my book, by the way. But you still have the potential to go absolute full on pyscho if that empathy power gets too strong and you can’t deal with it...it won’t be pretty.”

Alexandra gulps. "So you're effectively saying that if I get strong, I'll end up going insane? Great. Just great..."

"Could we go to your boss to have him...deal with it? In exchange for a favour, or something? I don't want to hurt her, she seems like a vulnerable person, but if it's her or us, I don't see an option where we all walk away healthy. I can try to talk her out of it, but I'm not a fully trained therapist yet, and I've never seen anyone who's crazy because of superpowers."

'Alexandra is going to... go insane?' Jack repeated, 'No, uh-uh, not gonna happen. Don't even joke about it.' He scratched his head, 'If she was with you guys can we like talk to Medius about her? Would she back off if I joined the Union?'

He sat his sister down on the couch and sat beside her, 'I don't know, something like that? Seems more like occult secret societies than superheros, though. They... or we... all have some psychic powers. It's sounds crazy, I know, but it's the truth. I'll show you, one second.' Jack concentrated on talking to Heather, Hey, you can hear me in your head, right? That's one of my powers... crazy, right?

Pulling information off the internet doesn’t tend to be useful for mundane problems, let alone ones that border on conspiracy theories. Some sites and searches produce the result of defining things like telepathy and psychic abilities, but touch little on it or demand money for books and videos on strengthening it, the effectivity of which is already in question. Little stands out in the way of practical information he can use, ranging from articles debunking his powers as a myth or from people claiming to have these abilities when they are almost definitely either just stupid or crazy. There’s a few articles of failed military programs to produce soldiers, but that seems as much of a waste of time as any of these sites.

On the front of the hospital, the official story was some kind of freak electrical storm and any comments arguing otherwise are quickly shut down as just conspiracy theories by most readers.

All in all, it doesn’t seem like he can find any information this way or just can’t think of how to ask the right questions. His phone buzzes later.

Laya’s taking a nap right now. Need something?

Pulling back her sleeve, the red haired assassin revealed the scars of puncture marks. "Well, let's see. After that whole thing with the screwdriver, I don't think she's too crazy about coming back to us. Look...literally nothing can be done about it now. That's the problem with the Brotherhood. She's past the point where she can be helped...but nah. Alexandra won't end up like that...probably. The more you use your power, you naturally get better with it over time...it's not always as good as it sounds. I don't love this "Let's talk things out" idea...but she knows you're stupid enough to mean it, so she'll probably let you get close."

While Adel didn't sound in the slightest thrilled about making any kind of negotiation with Angela, Heather was trying to listen to what Jack was saying, hearing his internal thoughts. "Yeah...uh, hey. I heard that. Your lips didn't move...but it's not like throwing your voice...so you can do that. She can make fire. Alex can read emotions...and I'm supposed to do something too. Like...?' Heather stared at her hands for a second, half expectantly, but nothing came of it.

"Huh. You didn't notice, did you? I didn't hear that. You're actually able to keep those thoughts to yourself...you picked that up quick...just kinda of hoping it isn't too quick." Adel half complimenting and half grimacing at the idea, went to being oddly silent.

You're taking this a lot better than I thought, sis, Jack thought chuckling while doing so, 'Well, I don't know. I can control water and have spidey sense. That stuff just... kind of triggered under stress. Not that I want to put you in some dangerous sistuation so you could find out what your powers are. He looked to Adel, 'Is there some way to find out what Heather's powers might be?'

Alexandra smiles weakly. "Well, I'm glad that I'm probably not going to go crazy. I'm just not sure how much I can do offensively to help. Maybe I could goad her? You know, pretend to be Jack's girlfriend to make her jealous, so she comes at us recklessly? Or would being angry make her powers stronger?"

She debated at hearing the suggestion, half laughing. "Isn't that just an excuse to get your hands on him? Hmm...it might work to piss her off into doing something stupid, but she's still going to be serious trouble for either of you. Not to brag, but I'm probably the biggest badass here...but eh, I'm not really good with that kind of stuff. It might be a way to go...or it might just end up grouping you up to get you two killed faster....can't say how that would go."

Adel quirked her head at hearing the question from Jack of how to test her abilities. "Well, what? Just like..."

She didn't give any forewarning before grabbing a pen off the table and tossing it, the pen smacking Heather in the face as she clutched her nose and gave a "What the fuck?" as a response. It didn't deter Adel.

"Alright. So, you don't have danger sense...maybe..." With another zero explanation she grabbed a bottle of water resting on the table and uncapped it, chucking it directly at the blond again who this time managed to lift her arms up to defend herself, but the water still spilling loosely onto her shirt. "Just screw off!"

"So you don't share hydrokinesis...hmm. Maybe you can use heatwaves like me?" Adel lifted a finger as a spark of flame began to emit and Heather shrinked back as a reaction. "Okay. No. No, let's not do that. I'm not an A list student or anything, but there's GOT to be a better way to do this."

'Hey, would you stop tossing stuff at my sister?' Jack said, before turning to Heather, 'Sorry... Adel is... impulsive... has no moderation?' Jack looked down to his sister's breasts, which were nearly visible through her wet shirt. 'Here, let me...' He concentrated hard on the water, making it look like he was staring at her wet chest, but a moment later the water evaporated from her shirt, drying it in a moment. The water vapour coalesced into a ball in the air, before he directed it, floating over to a potted plant in the living room, dropping into the dark soil.

The young man looked to Adel, 'Why would she have my powers? You don't have Abel's powers, do you?'

Alexandra thinks for a moment. "How did you gain your powers, Adel? I just woke up with them one morning, and I think Jack was the same. Maybe the abilities lie dormant within ourselves, only awakening after exposure to a specific stimuli? I don't remember anything that could have caused it, but Jack, Laya and I all seem to have gained our powers at the same time, so there has to be something. We just need to figure out what that stimuli is, to awaken the powers in Heather." Her eyes dart to the blonde's breasts for a fraction of a second, as she finishes postulating, before she looks away.

"Uh...sorry. I thought...well, I don't know. I never did this before." Adel rubbed the back of her head, looking a little embarrassed, Heather still holding a sharp gaze on her before relenting a little and switching it to her brother. "Don't think I didn't see you stare, perv."

"Ha! Little runt just really wants to stick that anywhere, doesn't he?" Adel found the situation hilarious and Heather's face soon shifted to join in with the same look.

"Oh my god. You have no idea. So last week-

Between his own older sister and Adel who was...not quite the mature grown up herself, the conversation was long. Far longer than Jack or Alexandra really wanted to hear, but the two apparently on better terms bonding over how little they thought of Jack's self control. After the laughter died down, she looked back to Alexandra to think about the question.

"Hm? Uh...let me think. I don't really remember it. Ours didn't surface at the same time. I first realized I could burn things when I was eight. I really, really, didn't wanna do picture day. That was a whole-Abel only figured out he could teleport things when he was sixteen and that wasn't even on purpose. He-ah, nah. The story is fucking hilarious, but he gets really bitchy if I say how he figured it out. It's not based on age. I know that. So it's probably exposure to something that unlocks it...it's just like...sleeping right now or something. But how to wake it up...that's tough. We might need to put a pin in this for later."

Jack was red and exasperated, 'You... yeah... just ignore the magically floating water and make a big deal that I had to look at your boobs for a second to make it work... Thanks for drying my shirt, Jack... Oh, no problem, Heather, happy to help.'

"Yeah...I saw the water thing, but like there's only so much shit I can think about at one time." Heather ignored Jack's desire for a thank you, obviously unsure of where to even begin deciding what to make of all this. Adel threw her head back, as she looked to Alexandra and Jack waiting for them to give some idea on what exactly they wanted to do.

"So, what's the deal here? We're killing her, right?" Adel obviously had a preference in what she wanted to do, but Heather's reaction made it obvious that she clearly didn't share it.

"Kill? Even if she's a psycho bitch, that's kinda..." Heather's emotions ranged from annoyance to the red head to the kind of fear and anxiety than the two had before, albeit still haven't entirely gotten over themselves.

"Yeah, I get that not everyone really wants to jump to that...but I don't know what you wanna do about it. I dunno. Her powers are what make her unstable, right? Maybe if the chems could dampen her powers a bit that'd help...but I've never seen them work that way before. Boss...yeah. He probably has some idea. He knows pretty much everything...except about the box." Adel's face scrounged, clearly bugged by the idea. "He was wrong...that doesn't happen."

Adel's face returned to looking more impulsive, obviously anxious to see what they were going to do. "Well...I guess, if we seriously have to? I could call up...Nathan." Adel's voice and feelings were welling up with embarrassment and disgust. "You know, the dude Felica's mad at us for killing." Adel had already explained part of this to Jack, but Alexandra wasn't there for the full conversation so the red head spent more time focusing on trying to debrief her.

"Guy's Brotherhood. Most of them are useless...but he was like their one good guy. He's not dead...just supposed to be. But Angela can't know that, even with her ability...so he might be helpful...but bringing him in for this might be a mess, what with everyone thinking he's dead and realizing that he hasn't kicked it just yet...not telling how that'd turn out."

Alexandra doesn't seem particularly surprised that Felica's friend isn't dead, though she is a little off put. Do I tell her? Does it make me a bad friend if I don't? Are we even friends? Does smoking weed in a back alley make you friends? What if we expose him and he becomes a target?

Alexandra is silent for several moments, before nodding. "I'd really rather we sorted this out without violence. I don't want anyone to die, especially someone like this, who's clearly mentally ill. She needs help, not a bullet in the face."
