"Understood." The receptionist nodded. "But do understand, bounty hunters, are not above the law." Her words followed Catherine, as she left.
After Alyndra exits her room, Rogriss soon leaves his, fully dressed in nobleman's garb, and with his sword at his side. He approaches the redhead, with a conciliatory look on his face. "I judge, from your expression, that Oriana was a little less than subtle. I'm terribly sorry for that. I should have thought of you." I was thinking of you plenty, actually. He keeps the lurid thought to himself, a look of sincere contrition on his face. "Will you forgive me?"
Catherine debated what that meant. She was expected to not kill other members. But then they were expected not to either...of course, she had to assume there were plenty of circumstances where it could be argued justifiable....not that she was going to go out of her way to make problems for anyone she didn't need to...but, despite her rebellious streak, Annette was still part of the crew and Catherine wasn't about to just leave her out to dry to these people. Annette was mostly safe too. Getting to her and tracking her down would be challenging, but her niece on her own, wasn't going to kill her. The older pirate was sure of that. And since her niece couldn't be held by prisons and she definitely wouldn't sit around as some trophy room addition, Catherine had to assume her greatest threat would be other people trying to get there first. Getting proper sleep first was important, but as soon as she wakes up she had already outline going to the general store to buy some charcoal and parchment for later, some food for the journey and hoping that she'd get there before this turned into a great chase to track her down. With the general idea outlined in her head, Catherine allowed her brain to shut off and sleep so she could get on it in the morning without problems.
Alyndra looked at the half-orc, still blushing and flustered, '"Less than subtle"? That's an understatement... she screamed like a banshee... you kept us awake at night with your loud... "entertaining" as Raven put it.' She sighed, 'And now, she comes in and strips naked out of the blue after giving us breakfast. Is this an inn or a whorehouse? Did I miss the fineprint on the rooms that it comes with a "visit" from the innkeeper?'
"I apologise profusely." He seems to genuinely mean it. "In my defence, she did come into my room uninvited and unannounced, threaten me with a knife, and sexually objectify not only myself, but all green skinned species, so I was a little upset, and may have been a little rougher than usual." He smiles nervously. "That isn't an excuse, though. Sorry, I was really inconsiderate. Can I make it up to you?"
“Aly!” Celine called after the fleeing redhead, then sighed and looked at the practically naked barmaid. “Sorry, honey, you're pretty and tempting, but I'm really not in the mood this morning. I have stuff I need to focus on. Maybe later, after I take care of some things... but for now, get dressed and get out.” She told her, then quickly put on her clothes and left the room to look for Alyndra.
Gih waited patiently... "Ahn~" "Fuck-" As he looked from behind the create, he noticed a woman holding a coin, leaning against the wall, with her skirt tucked up and her legs apart. Behind he stud a big man, vigorously pounding her.
"Meh." Gih groaned, he was interested in fucking women, not watching others fuck em. Especially if he wouldn't get a turn. The little goblin looks for a way out of the alley, or maybe a way to knock the man out and take his coin.
Alyndra looked baffled, 'She what? Threatened you with a knife, objectified you? And yet, you still did... it with her?' She laughed nervously, 'Why didn't you throw her out of your room?' Celine could see Alyndra talking to Rogriss in the hall.
Upon seeing Alyndra and Rogriss talking Celine immediately headed towards them. "Good morning." She greeted when she was close enough to hear what they were saying.
He sighs. "I don't know. I just... I guess I'm lonely. I've been on my own since I became an adult, and it's getting to me. That kind of sex doesn't cure it, but it helps you forget, I guess." He looks shyly at her. "Morning, Celine." He greets her with an innocent smile. "Sorry about that. I thought that she'd have a little more tact that to just expose herself to you. I thought she'd just see if you were interested."
“Riiight...” Celine gave the half-orc a look that made it clear she didn't believe him, then turned towards Alyndra. “You didn't finish your breakfast. Shall we go back and have breakfast together? Oriana should be dressed by now. And if not, we can help her get dressed so she can get back to work. Assuming that she does not decide to continue what she and Rogriss were doing, of course.”
'Hey,' Alyndra said, 'Was she not pretty enough for your standards?' 'Lonely?' Alyndra huffed, 'That might explain why you would have intercourse with a prostitute but not doing that with a woman who comes into your room at night, threatens you with a knife and basically treats you like an animal, Rogriss.' 'I'm not hungry after that,' Alyndra said, 'And I definitely do not want to help dress the crazy nymphomaniac innkeeper.'
“She's pretty, but I'm really not in the mood right now. I want to focus on the reason we're here.” Celine answered Alyndra's question. “Alright, well, I'm not really hungry either, so...” She quickly checked to make sure she had all of her stuff “...I'm ready to go whenever you are. I'm sure Oriana can dress herself – or our friend can help her get dressed.” She gave Rogriss a quick look. “Just make sure you didn't forget anything back in the room.
He looks a little ashamed. "You're right, Alyndra." "I got everything, yes." He gives her a smile that's hard to read. "Unpleasantness aside, are we ready to set off on the job?"
“Alright, then, let's go to the temple and meet the priestesses.” Celine agreed as the trio headed out of the inn and towards their destination.
The night was long and restless. When Catherine finally woke up, her mood was down and she was still sleepy. But a new day has begun, and with it, new tasks.
