I just hit 50 endings! Although almost half of them have epilogues, so "ending." Right, confession...I was a freelancer for tabletop roleplaying games for a bit. I was once taken to task because what I wrote was too adult for the tone they were going for.
Probably the same reason so many, including myself, find it hard to write a straight up sex scene. There isn't much to work with. I love how one chyoaian put it: It is the difference between writing about making a sandwich and eating a sandwich.
This is the eternal struggle for me: Does one focus on providing options or just run out one story branch. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.
Hmm, with your style, I'm wondering if you worked for WEG at all. Because they were always my favorite company as far as simple and FUN games. (I admit it. "Ghostbusters" and "Star Wars D6" were my first RPGS. Loved that both of them wholeheartedly endorsed STEALING from other RPG's for adventures, and to quote ghostbusters "Rip out the gore and Terror and replace it with light hearted comedy. See Mad Magazine or Saturday Night Live for examples of how to do this for modern pop culture" (Of coures, SNL was still GOOD back then.)
Hah. No, never worked for West End Games. Confession...ah... - I feel real guilt when there are chapters needing to be written, but my other writing projects I get paid for have to come first. - The guilt sometimes haunts my dreams. - I don't outline this story, but I've outlined the next story.
* I want to work on three different stories at once. (Catwoman, D&D and a new story I have started about Superboy vs. the (female) Justice League.) * I have started to wonder if there are ways to make money writing fiction. (I have always been very skeptical about this.)

Any number of stories on CHYOA are miles better than 50 shades, she just got very lucky with the right book at the right time.
Amen to that. But then, pop culture has zero taste and has been going down the toilet for years... Overnight sensations are more about the marketing than the product, after all. Never heard about this awful book, but then suddenly EVERY news outlet had to have a section on it... Then there's a trilogy of films that nobody watches, but... SEE, worldwide phenomenon. For some reason the book fit the narrative that the media wanted at the time, which seemed to be the worship of men with money, because they REALLY loved you, just treated you bad for reasons you didn't understand... Mr. Epstein, Your Table is waiting... /snark
Confession: I've made money with writing. Just not very much. The issue is that it's not enough just to write - you have to make it available (usually on as many markets as possible), and you have to promote your own work. It's very rare for someone to be productive enough and sufficiently competent at managing the business side of things to make a decent living just on writing. Which is why most of the people who do make money off of it have it as a sidegig on whatever their dayjob is.
Extra confession: Sometimes I go back to older chapters and edit the penis sizes down from "cartoonish" to "within the scope of human anatomy."
If we are going with extra confessions: This isn't my original profile. I wanted to a clean slate a while back so I created this "new" profile. The only problem is the original profile had the "veteran" award. :-(
Confession: So have I. I'm not going to ask you to dox yourself, because I'm certainly not going to dox myself, but I'm curious if it was self-published, or through a publishing house? I actually managed to get a contract with a publishing house for my first novel, but they were quite small, so I still wound up doing a lot of the promotion myself, to the point where, when the contract was up, I chose not to re-sign, because I didn't feel like they were really doing anything for me. Since though, I haven't been able to sell any more books, so I still wonder if it was the right decision. And my job that actually makes money has now taken precedence, and I don't really have time to write anything that requires me to think about how it would be marketed or whether a publisher will want it. I guess that would be my extra confession: I write here so I don't have to think about marketing or promotion.(I mean, aside from the fact that I just like erotica.)
