"Khhh." Felicia blushes, but as he apologized, she calms down. After all, he did call for help, "Haa... no... I should thank you for actually helping." She sighed, her tone softening. "Again, thank you, Adam." She mumbles, until she hears Michio's words. "Yeah, let's get some payback from those bastards." She growled, her tone regaining her usual fire. But as Julia asked about her current state, "Ah, don't worry, professor. I'm going to do this one way, or another." She replied in a confident tone, "I'll get my partner back, and show that cosplaying nun who she messed with."
Adam's glad he doesn't have water in his mouth, because he'd have spit it all out after seeming Yumi if he had. Down boy, down! This isn't the time! Why are they all so hot? "You're welcome." He nods. "Let's get you some payback, eh?"
"Yumi! You're looking great today. Feeling better?" Julia wasn't really just teasing like usual. It was clear that it was an honest question. But as she heard the red head speak about getting her partner back, Julia's smile somewhat returned. "So you already know the true value of the card, don't you? Well that saves time." Or it might. She still didn't know how much Yumi was aware of....but.... "You're aware of what this is really about. At least kind of. There's no way in hell you would seriously agree to go along with putting students at risk like this, if you didn't know about duel spirits." Julia just said it factually, but not as an actual accusation. "That's fine. But even if we know where they are, we still need to make an actual plan of how and what we're actually going to do to get through them when we're dealing with possibly an entire cult."
Yumi's expression remains stoic. "Yes. Ask later." "I have...heard whispers." She says to Julia's comments about duel spirits.
"I do?" Felicia replied, but had the feeling that Julia was talking about something else entirely. "Could it be that strange voice?" She mumbled idly, waiting for every to get ready as she's more than eager to meet with Angelica and that Devout guy for some major payback.
Michio speaks up. "Am I the only one here who doesn't hear voices?" She turns to Julia. "Is that who the bitches were targeting? People who hear...sprits?"
“Yes.” Julia stated led it simply the two, then glanced to Michio. “So it would seem.” She then turned to debrief the other two. “Adam and Michio have only really came to terms with all of this yesterday too. But the bottom line is this Angelica Ian connected to a yokai that’s aim is to create eternal night where it’s power never wanes. The Shinarui spectral sword is it’s rival that can exorcise it’s power and she fears it.” It was all a little to cover, but Julia thought of giving the important notes. “We’re dealing with supernatural power. This isn’t the kind of things that can be dealt with through normal circumstances. However…there is…something. I never experienced it, and I don’t even know if it’s true, but supposedly you can’t claim it’s power without challenging the owner and properly defeating them through a duel first. Allegedly, it plays some kind of role to properly harness the spirit. But if you lose….I’m not actually perfectly clear on that, but it’s bad. So presumably, she can be simply challenged to a duel and beaten and that will weaken her influence and power….maybe. I think you can just very much hit them regularly without doing all that too….I never really exorcised a shadow realm spirit that wants to throw the world into eternal darkness before.”
"Spirits? What are you-" Felicia was about to ask, when Julia suddenly gives a massive exposition dump. "Super...natural powers? What, aren't we just dealing with some cosplayers here?" The red-head asked in a confused tone.
Duels will work best. But losing...will have consequences. You can run through a man, but not a spirit. Valkyrus' voice pierces Julia's mind before fading to nothingness again.
"Well, they are cosplayers - I mean, I have a duel spirit and I don't dress like a moron." Adam adds. "But they are cosplayers with magical powers, I think, yes. I encountered someone else with similar abilities yesterday and she dressed normal, though I don't think she's related to your attackers."
"Uh huh..." Felicia mumbled still unsure if this was one big joke. "So you're saying my Red Dragon Archfiend spoke to me... before he transformed into Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend?" She replied acting as if she was playing along, but the scenario she mentioned as far too specific to be a lie.
Tenma gulps, not being used to asked permission for something like this and kind of liking it. He knows he probably should say no, but her kindness and the feel of her body against his own makes it hard for him to think straight in the moment. "O-Okay..." he says, "But if you want... more than that... maybe it can be another time? We... shouldn't be gone for too long, right?"
"Why? Our duel is finished." Jessica asks. "If you aren't...in the mood, then you should just say that." She kisses him, hugging the young man tightly. Like the last one, it's far more chaste than Tenma is accustomed to, unless he wants to change that. Still, the woman's chest presses insistently into his.
"We have strayed too far from the vital topic." Yumi interrupts the discussion, face neutral despite her attire. "What is the plan for defeating them? Duels?" She asks Julia. "You cannot be referring to Duel Monsters, right?"
"Duels? I doubt they'll agree to anything as peaceful as that. I mean, Michio already has a sword with her. We might as well just brute force our way in." Felicia replied, already eager to just beat down the bastards that humiliated her so much.
"I'm afraid, mon belles, the type of duels we're implying are far from the type we play in the academy. If there cosplayers are powerful enough, they can call shadow games - duels played in a...how would you say it in English?" He strokes his chin. "An...alternate dimension. In which the monsters take physical forms and you can lose your soul if you lose."
"Huh? You're messing with me, so not only spirits, but now magic is also real?" Felicia grumbled, raising her eyebrow as she looked at everyone's expression. Only to see that she's the only one doubting Adam's words, "What, you can't be serious?"
"It looks that way, doesn't?" She had no reason to doubt Valkryus's input. Though it was still hard to put all this into words and get people to come to terms with it as quickly as they might need to, but as Adam soke, she remembered him mentioning shadowgames before. She couldn't recall any books that ever used that exact terms, but some archaic texts did suggest a kind of "dark dueling" or "The Stygian Wars." She briefly wondered if the term shadow game could be some sort of relatively new translation passed through languages but, from the way Adam spoke, it almost seemed like it was the other way around. All very interesting. "That is....generally consistent to my reading." She had no reason to be skeptical of Adam's clarifications of it. Julia did give a look to them a bit thoughtfully. "It's said that the Makyashi are only able to use their power in the dead of night. So, presumably, if we act now against her, while it's still in the middle of the day, she should be at least a little weaker than she would otherwise be."
"So it is best to either approach them now, or on another day. Are we committed? Yumi asks the gathered duelists. "Hell yeah!" Michio almost shouts in reply. Prof. Itou looks to the others, expecting their responses.
